"No, you won't," Raegan reassured Henley.

"Well, I'm just stating the 'what ifs'." Henley hesitated, his refined features half illuminated by the dim light, carrying a trace of coldness.

"Will you stay by my side and take care of me forever?"

Raegan was silent, surprised.

The future hadn't been something Raegan had considered in depth.

Henley's unexpected question left Raegan momentarily speechless, her hesitation clearly unnerving Henley. Abruptly, he reached out his hand, gripping the other firmly.

Surprised, Raegan's eyes widened as she met his gaze.

"Remember what you promised." Henley's voice was soft but firm.

At that moment, Raegan sensed something strange about Henley.

Then, a sharp slam on the brakes.

The car stopped abruptly.

The car door was yanked open. There was Mitchel, his gaze piercing as he looked at their clasped hands, his expression turning into a sneer.

Raegan felt slighted under his disdainful eyes and shuddered.

“Get out,” Mitchel's voice was icy as he addressed her.

Raegan instinctively tried to pull her hand away, but Henley's grip was inflexible.

Henley, meeting Mitchel's stern gaze, said evenly, "Mr. Dixon, we have a plane to catch."

Mitchel, exuding a chilling aura, ignored Henley and forcefully pulled Raegan out of the car.

Henley's grip didn't loosen, causing Raegan pain. She winced.

"It hurts me".

Mitchel relaxed his grip, followed by Henley.

Mitchel took the opportunity to scoop Raegan into his arms and headed toward his vehicle.

From behind, Henley's voice was cold but determined.

"Raegan, I'll wait for you."

Coming back to reality, Raegan realized that she and Henley had to catch a flight.

Confused by Mitchel's actions, she demanded with a stern expression, "Mitchel, put me down."

Despite her objections, Mitchel forcibly placed her in the back seat, making sure with his hands that she didn't move.

"Do you plan to run away with him?"

Raegan looked away.

«Why do you think that?

A shadow covered Mitchel's eyes.

«So, you think you're free from me now? That you can do whatever you like?

His anger was palpable. Raegan had intended to go abroad with Henley without saying a word to him, a move he found unfathomable. How could he go with Henley?

Mitchel had instructed Katie to clear things up with Raegan in the elevator. However, Raegan seemed eager to distance herself from him.

He even said that there was nothing between him and her.

Mitchel's frustration boiled inside him at his words, but he had held it back.

Besides, he had endured in silence while she took care of Henley. But her decision to go with Henley was more than she could bear. How could I tolerate this?

Grabbing Raegan's face, Mitchel forced her to look at him, his voice thick with emotion.

«Why would you flirt with me, kiss me, if you are choosing him? Hey? Are you that indecisive?

Raegan's eyes widened in disbelief at his accusations.

His face lost all color, becoming ghostly pale.

Mitchel instantly regretted his harsh words, realizing that his anger had gotten the better of him. His anger came from her apparent indifference towards him all this time.

“You're right,” Raegan said suddenly, her voice breaking and her eyes filling with tears.

"I'm indecisive." That's why she had fallen in love with him again. That's why I thought about it so much, without wanting to overwhelm him.

Exhausted, Raegan pleaded, “Please let me go. "I don't want to miss my flight."

Mistaking his words for his desperate desire to leave with Henley, Mitchel's anger flared, distorting his handsome features.

His lips, now cold and intense, pressed against her neck.

Raegan winced at the sharp pain as he bit her harshly.

This bastard! What was I thinking? He had just insulted her, and now this?

Feeling deeply offended, Raegan pushed him away.

«Enough! "Let go of me."

He insisted, leaving marks on her neck and chest. Then he paused, mocking her: “Why pretend? Didn't you used to enjoy this?

«That was in the past. "Things have changed."

Raegan bit her lip, holding back tears of humiliation.

He held her chin tightly.

"Answer me, do you really want to go with him?"

“Yes,” Raegan said firmly.

«Henley saved me. "I owe it to him."

"He saved you, but didn't I fucking save you too?" Mitchel exploded.

"If you're willing to take care of him, what do I gain from you?"

Raegan's heart sank, and she responded with deliberate calm, "I appreciate your help, but I hope you can stay out of my life."

Raegan thought about Luciana's words and reminded herself that it was best to keep her distance. Luciana had indicated that she could not offer Mitchel any real support.

A wave of despair washed over Mitchel, his eyes turning stormy.

«Gratitude is not what I am looking for. "I need more than that."

“What do you mean…?”

Shock spread across Raegan's face as she felt the button on her pants come undone.

"Bastard! We're not together anymore! You have no right to do this!

Mitchel's gaze hardened as he leaned closer, a grimace on his lips.

"You can't fucking tell me what I can and can't do!"

Raegan's emotions boiled over, tears streaming down her face.

«Mitchel, you can't make me. Many might willingly be with you, but I am not one of them.

Her face, bathed in tears, was an image of defiance and anguish.

Mitchel felt a stab in his heart as if he had been struck by lightning. He realized that all this was useless.

She believed he was putting her down, and he felt he was putting himself down. He had offered his sincerity to her, but she had rejected it outright.

Abruptly, he released her and coldly ordered her, "Get out."

Raegan, her face wet with tears, silently straightened her clothes and got out of Mitchel's car without another word.

Outside Mitchel's car, Henley was sitting nearby in a wheelchair, watching the scene with a seemingly indifferent expression.

However, under his expression, his heart had turned into ice.

When Raegan got out of the car, she was surprised to see Henley there.

Before she could speak, Henley interrupted her: “It's cold outside.

Please get in the car.

Feeling too embarrassed to bear Henley's gaze any longer, Raegan quickly turned and walked towards Henley's car.

Mitchel, meanwhile, looked disheveled, his neck covered in scratches from his recent fight.

He left the car door open and adjusted the collar of his shirt, letting Henley see the mess inside.

Surprisingly, Henley giggled.

"Mr. Dixon, I understand.

Raegan's appeal is irresistible. I had a hard time controlling myself when I first tried it,” he said, with a mocking tone in his voice that emphasized the last sentence.

Mitchel's eyes flashed with anger.

"What did you say?"
