Chapter 1286:
? ? ? ? ?
The security guards trembled unconsciously. One of them said, “You… You better cooperate with us. Otherwise, we will be forced to call the police.”
Jarrod had damaged hospital property and could be arrested and demand compensation.
Jarrod said nothing and refused to talk to those security guards.
Fortunately, Alec arrived in time. He quickly smoothed things over. “I'm sorry. It’s all an misunderstanding.”
Alec pulled aside a security guard and said, “This gentleman is in a bad mood because one of his relatives is in the hospital. Please understand. But don't worry. “We will compensate you for everything.”
The security guard shook his head. “This is not about making up for it. This person's behavior has frightened the medical staff and other patients. We need to take him in for questioning. “We will then consider whether we need to call the police.”
Alec pulled out a business card, handed it to the security guard, and said humbly, “I have an idea. We will replace all the doors in the entire hospital building with better, riot-proof ones. Please check with your superiors to see if this is acceptable.”
Replacing all the doors in the building with riot doors would cost a lot of money. The security guard thought Alec was just bluffing. But he still had to consult his superiors, so he turned and walked away.
Soon the hospital's management staff rushed over. They knew the company from the business card Alec had given them and recognized their solidity. They immediately decided not to pursue the matter any further.
They even sent Alec off cheerfully.
Before leaving, Alec told the executives, “It was all an misunderstanding. Please direct your staff and warn them not to gossip. Mr. Schultz simply lost control of his emotions because his family member was hospitalized. We are all normal people, and sometimes we have a hard time controlling our emotions. I bet that is understandable, right?”
The head of the management confirmed staff repeatedly. “That's true. It’s just a trivial matter.”
According to management, although Jarrod smashed the bathroom door, he did not cause any substantial damage, let alone insult anyone.
Regarding this incident, they had obtained a renovation fund for the hospital. It was definitely a gain for them.
"Don't worry. I will make sure that all our people keep their mouths shut. No one will gossip about this matter," the chief of staff promised.
Thank you. I have already had the money transferred to your account.
The director smiled from ear to ear.
Alec was being cautious since Derek was severely injured by Jarrod, plus Nicole's previous accusations that Jarrod was mentally ill.
If what happened today spread, he was afraid that people would put it all together and think that Jarrod was really sick, exposing the truth. If this series of events were linked, it could lead to more serious problems.
Alec was on alert now, quickly extinguishing the fire before it could start to burn.
By this time Jarrod had already returned to the car. Alec had called a doctor to the car to treat his injured hand.
After the treatment, Jarrod remained silent. He didn't even give Alec any instructions to drive. Alec didn't dare to bring up the subject rashly, so he just sat quietly in the driver's seat.
Alec had never seen Jarrod look so gloomy, hollow and void of everything.
"I don't want to see that woman again," Jarrod said suddenly after a long silence.
Alec was stunned to hear this. Before he could ask a question, Jarrod added, “If she does anything out of line again, don't bother considering anything. Deal with her as you see fit.”
After saying this, Jarrod closed his eyes, his brows furrowed.
It was as if the mere mention of Nicole's name disgusted him to the core.
Alec lowered his chin. It was the first time he had seen Jarrod express such strong dislike towards Nicole. Despite his disbelief, he simply replied, “Understood, Mr. Schultz.”
Alec reasoned that things would be much easier to deal with, if Jarrod really did dismiss Nicole. But he didn't dare confirm it. He could only take one step at a time and observe the situation.
After all, Nicole was special in Jarrod's heart. He doubted Jarrod could ever bring himself to never see Nicole again or stop caring about her. Plus, there was Austin, who tied the two of them together.
Alec drove the car back to the villa.
With his mind clouded by his inner turmoil, Jarrod had ordered Alec to bring him there without his knowledge. As I entered, I remembered Austin, Nicole's son, who I had arranged to live here.
At this moment, the maids in charge of serving Austin were making the meal downstairs. Seeing Jarrod, they hurriedly stopped their work and greeted him respectfully.
Jarrod frowned slightly. “Why are you here?”
She instructed the two maids to keep an eye on Austin at all times and never leave his side. This would prevent the nanny Nicole had hired from causing any trouble.
One of the maids quickly explained: “Sir, it is an order from Miss Hampton.”
