Just as Derek was about to collide with Nicole's car once again, he finally ignited, causing his phone to fall to the ground and abruptly ending the call.

Nicole wasted no time, slamming her foot on the gas and fleeing the scene. Her escape today would provide Rhett with enough evidence, courtesy of Derek's reckless actions, to request a re-evaluation of Jarrod's evidence.

Meanwhile, Raegan frantically dialed Mitchel's number.

After two rings, Mitchel answered.

“Honey, you have to help… Nicole is in danger. Someone wants to hurt her. “It has to be Jarrod… It just has to be him!” Raegan exclaimed, her words spilling over in her distress.

Raegan firmly believed that Jarrod was somehow involved, that he was the villain orchestrating this dangerous situation for Nicole.

"Keep your composure, take a deep breath, and report the facts accurately."

Mitchel was at a remote branch at the time, working overtime with his executives on a project.

Sensing the urgency in Raegan's tone, Mitchel waved the meeting to a halt and retreated to a secluded area to converse. “What’s the current situation with Nicole?”

Raegan, her voice almost stuck in her throat, replied, “I’m not entirely sure. They're after her. “She mentioned she was investigating Jarrod, but she didn't reveal the details.”

Nicole refrained from giving further details to avoid alarming Raegan and inadvertently alerting Jarrod, which could potentially jeopardize Raegan's safety.

Even though Raegan was in a significantly safer situation under Mitchel's protection, Nicole was adamant about not letting her own problems affect her friend. Plus, Raegan had the responsibility of caring for three children.

Hearing the scant information, Mitchel reassured her, “Honey, stay calm. I'm going to take action. “I’ll have Matteo use the backend to locate Nicole and send a security team to retrieve her.”

“Okay. Please hurry,” Raegan urged, fully aware of the urgency of the situation. The sooner Nicole was located, the sooner she would be out of danger.

Mitchel calmly assured him, “Don't worry. “I’ll track her down and get you up to speed right away.”

After ending the call, Mitchel contacted Matteo, instructing him to track Nicole's phone.

Shortly after, the satellite located Nicole's phone, which had stopped in a specific place.

Seized by a premonitory feeling, Mitchel ordered Matteo to send an elite security team to the coordinates and alert the local authorities, reporting Nicole's disappearance and her possible danger.

Once the necessary measures were put in place, Mitchel found himself unable to continue concentrating on the meeting.

Knowing how important Nicole was to Raegan and the potential distress Raegan would experience if something happened to Nicole, especially during her postpartum period, she couldn't shake her worry.

I have decided to postpone the meeting and waited for news from Matteo.

Thirty minutes later, Matteo contacted Mitchel to give him the news.

“Mr. Dixon, we located two damaged sedans at the scene, but both were unoccupied. There was no sign of any individuals nearby. Nicole’s phone was discovered in one of the vehicles, while the other had no personal effects and sported a forged license plate, making immediate identification of the owner difficult.”

Frowning in concern, Mitchel ordered, “Continue the search and expand the scope of the investigation.”

“Understood,” Matteo acknowledged.

After the conversation, Mitchel contemplated the circumstances.
