Chapter 1251:
? ? ? ? ?
Witnessing Nicole's desolation, Rhett couldn't help but offer comfort.
“Miss Lawrence, don't despair. If you are sure that Mr. Schultz has been taking his medication, then there must be some explanation. Keep hope. “We still have a chance.”
The lawyer's pragmatic words brought Nicole back to reality. Jarrod had taken the medication. So what was really going on?
Rhett quickly contacted an acquaintance at the courthouse to inquire about any irregularities in the organization of Jarrod's evidence.
He told Nicole to wait for him in the car.
Nicole absentmindedly walked towards the door and accidentally bumped into someone. Feeling a sharp pain in her nose, she hurriedly apologized: “I'm sorry, I'm sorry…”
"It's nothing." The man's voice started Nicole.
When Nicole raised her head, she saw that it was Roscoe she had bumped into, which intensified her distress. Fearing she would not be able to hold back her tears, she lowered her head and muttered once more, “I'm sorry.”
Then she turned around, eager to leave.
“Miss Lawrence, please wait a moment,” Roscoe suddenly called out to her.
Hearing his voice, Nicole stopped. Roscoe gestured to her hand and handed her a silk handkerchief. He spoke softly. “Please use this to attend to her, Miss Lawrence.”
Roscoe was still the embodiment of kindness and gentleness. Nicole's sadness deepened. Shaking her head, she muttered, "No, thank you."
As she was about to leave, Roscoe grabbed her and quickly bandaged her wound.
The entire process took less than thirty seconds. I have proven to be a skilled professional, competent at every step.
Once the hand was bandaged, Nicole quickly removed it. She didn't want to cause any trouble for Roscoe. Now, with his memory loss, he could face repercussions if others dealt with him because of her.
Roscoe's eyebrows furrowed as he watched her leave, prompting him to ask, "Miss Lawrence, have we met?"
His question caught Nicole off guard. Temporary memory loss could occur, and Roscoe could retain fragments of memories about her. It could be considered a positive thing that he felt a certain familiarity with her.
“I…” Nicole was about to speak when Doreen, who was returning from the bathroom, rushed over.
"Roscoe, have you been waiting for me long?" As she spoke, Doreen gave Nicole a withering look.
Doreen had become noticeably more cautious since her encounter with Nicole's formidable lawyer. She refrained from speaking out of turn, fearing the lawyer's possible return. As for the slap, she was determined not to forget or forgive. She swore that Nicole would face dire consequences.
"Let's go," Doreen said, taking Roscoe by the arm and leading him away.
Watching the backs of the retreating figures, Nicole fell into contemplation.
Nicole didn't know if Roscoe's lack of memories was a positive or negative fact.
Not far behind her, Jarrod left the courtroom, accompanied by Vicki.
