Chapter 1250
Chapter 1250:
? ? ? ? ?
The defense attorney carefully read every word of the report, saying, "This report conclusively demonstrates that my client does not have a mental disorder."
Nicole's face paled completely. Jarrod had even anticipated her move, having requested a judicial evaluation beforehand. This meant that he knew she had accessed his psychiatric medications, intending to use them against him. All of her meticulous preparations… Jarrod had foreseen them all!
Nicole felt like she was suffocating.
Rhett was confused. Wasn't it confirmed that Jarrod had a mental illness? How come he suddenly didn't?
The credibility of a judicial assessment was high.
Furthermore, the fact that the accused had requested it in advance indicated knowledge of her letters.
The defense attorney continued: "It is clear that all this is nothing more than speculation by the plaintiffs. The plaintiff has a history of several years of medical consultations, which indicates that his physical and psychological conditions are unstable."
Jarrod's attorney provided recent medical records from Nicole's international and local appointments.
In comparison, Nicole seemed to be the one suffering from a mental disorder.
The process moved quickly. Clearly, Nicole was totally defeated.
Even Jarrod, by simply stating his disagreement, had easily outmaneuvered her.
“It's not like that…” Nicole struggled to speak. “It's not like that. That man is a monster, a lunatic! He forced me to have the child, and now he wants to drag me back into a shameful relationship. He's sick. Believe me, he really is!”
Nicole became increasingly distressed towards the end.
Rhett had to intervene.
The court placed a high value on evidence, and these emotional outbursts only made the judge perceive Nicole as psychologically unstable.
"Plaintiff, please remain calm and respect the decorum of the court," the judge ordered.
Jarrod's attorney spoke again. "What the plaintiff is saying is not accurate. My client, Mr. Schultz, got engaged five months ago, and the wedding is in three months. They are both emotionally stable and fully prepared to raise a child."
As the lawyer made her case, Nicole noticed that Vicki had entered the stand at some point. She was smiling at Jarrod, the picture of a doting girlfriend.
Nicole was in complete panic. His argument was nearly impeccable. She felt like she was about to lose her sanity. If she lost Austin, and if Austin was raised by someone as cruel as Jarrod, she couldn't even imagine what Austin would have to deal with. This monstrous Jarrod was planned to have another woman raise Austin.
The final ruling came as no surprise. Custody of Austin was awarded to Jarrod, his biological father, who was emotionally stable and financially capable. Nicole would have to obtain a hospital certificate of her mental health before she could have visitation rights.
“Why?” Nicole was unrepentant. She looked around frantically, shouting, “It’s my son!” This was the baby she had carried for ten months. How could he now be under someone else's control, without her even being able to visit him?
Nicole sank weakly to the ground. There was nothing more distressing than separating a child from its mother.
Jarrod had no qualms about pushing Nicole back into the abyss.
Nicole felt as if a suffocating net had been drawn over her head, trapping her in her clutches no matter how hard she struggled.
