Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1375: A meteor shower?
Edwina looked away and sounded a little bitter, "Actually, I don't have any bottom in my heart either, I don't know how far Edgar and I can go."
She was afraid that something like the marriage between The Terrazas family and The Boone family would happen again.
I knew without a doubt that in Dulce's mind she was not the best choice for a daughter-in-law.
"Don't think so hard." Paulina rested her hands on the balcony railing, the corners of her mouth curved upward in a slight curve. "I believe that if two people truly love each other, they will make it through even if they encounter many obstacles."
After saying this, he bowed his head and his clear gaze rested on Edwina's face.
A slight sadness was drawn on Edwina's brow and her frown did not relax.
"Don't think and don't worry. Believe in yourself, believe in your cousin and, most importantly, believe in your relationship." said Paulina in a serious tone.
Edwina made a brief silence and then, with curved lips, a smile, "You're right, believe in yourself and believe in Edgar."
Yes, just believing in each other was enough to face any obstacle.
...
Inside the studio.
Edgar looked at Mark, who was leaning against the window, and asked, "What's Earlene's status now?"
Rumors were flying in Kyoto celebrity circles that Earlene had been caught in a crime.
The Bartram family tried to squash it, but it still brought down the Bartram Group's stock.
"Refusing to admit guilt." A cold gleam ran through the back of Mark's eyes at the mention of it.
In the face of the evidence, Earlene was still able to deny it.
"The evidence is overwhelming, and even if she denies her guilt, it won't change the fact that she's going to jail."
At that, Edgar raised an eyebrow and smiled, "Now that Earlene is out of the way, you and your cousin can finally get on with your lives."
"But I haven't quite recovered my memory."
Hearing the loss in her voice, Edgar was quick to reassure him, "It's okay, not that the cousin cares about that, as long as you're there for her, she's happy."
A small smile tugged at the corners of Mark's mouth, he turned his head to look out the window and said in a soft voice, "I still hope I can get my memory back." "You will." Edgar wasn't reassuring him; he was sure he would regain his memory completely.
...
In the evening, a large family arrived en masse at the famous five-star hotel in J-town.
The waiter ushered them into the pre-booked private lounge, and once inside, Esteban, Sweety and Bonnie ran to the couch with a cheer.
On one side of the booth was a round table large enough to seat twenty people, while on the other side were entertainment facilities for singing or watching movies. Once seated, Mr. Juan, the host, began to order, looking up from time to time to ask the others what they liked.
Edwina sat down next to Dulce, who gave her a sidelong glance and thought before taking the initiative, "Edwina, I hope we get along well in the future."
Edwina didn't expect her to take the initiative and looked at her with surprise.
Dulce smiled the same kind smile she had when they first met, "I've been too stubborn before and I hope you won't take it personally if I've done you any harm." "Auntie, I didn't." Edwina gently shook her head and lifted the corner of her lips, "Let bygones be bygones."
A glimmer of gratitude shone in Dulce's eyes, her generosity was truly endearing.
Any other girl would have had her teeth set in hatred.
"Bring the children to the house more often in the future." Dulce patted her hand.
Edwina nodded, "Okay."
Edgar, who had been listening intently to their conversation the whole time, put his arm around Edwina and said cheerfully to Dulce, "Don't worry, Mom, I'm sure Edwina will come home to play more often in the future." Dulce looked at Edwina and the smile on her face deepened a little. "Your father and I are always happy to host Edwina and the others, but you, take Edwina to see your grandfather sometime." "Mmm."
As soon as Dulce mentioned Grandpa Khan, Mrs. Gloria became concerned, "How is the old man now?"
"There's been a reaction, only the man hasn't woken up yet." It was Agustina who answered, only to hear her sigh softly, "I don't know when he'll wake up either."
"The medicine is so advanced now, Mr. Juan will wake up." Expressed Mr. Juan for comfort.
"Yes, since everyone is responding, they should wake up soon too." Mrs. Gloria echoed.
Agustina nodded, "I too hope to wake up soon so I can give myself a chance to make amends."
"Mom." Paulina knew she felt guilty again for her whimsy then and took her hand between hers eagerly.
"I'm fine." Agustina turned her head and smiled at her, "I just want to spend more time with your grandfather later."
Paulina nodded, "I definitely will."
After dinner, Baggott, Dulce and Edgar went straight back to the hotel.
Marcos took Paulina directly to a scenic spot in the hills outside of town.
Looking out the window, Paulina turned her head, her eyes fell on Marcos' cool face and slowly curved her mouth, "Why do you want to take me to the mountains all of a sudden?"
"There's a meteor shower tonight." Marcos gave her a sidelong glance.
"A meteor shower?" Paulina was a little surprised, "How did you know that?".
"I saw it on the internet by accident, the Pegasus meteor shower."
Paulina looked through the windshield and surveyed the sky.
It was completely black, not a star in sight.
Paulina joked, "Why do I have a feeling we won't see the meteor shower?"
"It doesn't matter if we can see it or not, what matters is that I want to go for a ride with you." Mark took control of the steering wheel with one hand and gripped hers with the other. "I'm officially going back to work in a couple of days, so I may not have much time for you."
Paulina could hear the guilt in his voice and said with special seriousness, "I especially like Marcos when it's all lively at the mall."
At that, Marcos burst out laughing, "And not at other times?"
"On all of them." Paulina lost her smile and corrected herself, "No, I love them all. But I hope you can find your old self in your work." Perhaps, she could find her old memories in her work.
Mark reached up and rubbed her head, in a soft voice, "Okay, I'll do whatever you want me to do."
"Mmm!" Paulina arched her eyebrows in a smile.
