Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1374: Afflicted

"Edgar, there really is no hurry."

Edwina took his hand in hers, raised her eyes to his and said, "I want to have a good relationship and wait until the time is right before I get married." "Okay, whatever you say."

If she wanted to fall in love, he would fall in love with her.

A smile broke out on Edwina's face, "I knew you were the one for me."

Edgar laughed helplessly.

If he wasn't good with her, who else could he be good with.

The next day, Edgar drove Edwina and Bonnie to J-town.

Paulina helped her mother out of the hospital and Mark himself came to take them home.

"Mom said she was going to eat out tonight and said she wanted to celebrate that she was safe and sound." Marcos said as he took the duffel bag from Paulina's hand. "It's okay to celebrate at home, isn't it?" wondered Paulina a little.

Marcos pinched her cheek and smiled slightly, "Actually it's because the cousin and the others are coming."

It dawned on Paulina, "So it's because of the cousins."

"Let's go home first." Paulina turned her head to look at her mother who was standing by the window.

Marcos followed her gaze, "Is something wrong with Mom?"

Paulina shook her head, "I don't know, probably something on her mind."

"Now that Earlene is trapped, you'll be spending more time with Mom." Marcos looked away and looked at her.

"Okay."

Paulina stepped closer and called softly, "Mom."

At the sound, Agustina turned her head.

"Home, mom." said Paulina.

Agustina nodded, "Okay."

Paulina helps her out and Marcos follows behind.

Back to The Leoz family, just as Edgar and the others arrived.

"Tia." Edgar rushed over to help hold Agustina.

Agustina smiled and patted his hand, "I'm fine."

Her gaze shifted to Edwina, behind Edgar, and the smile on her face deepened a few notches, "Edgar, she's your girlfriend, isn't she?"

Edgar drew Edwina to his side, "Auntie, this is my girlfriend Edwina."

"Edwina, this is my aunt, Paulina's mother." Edgar introduced Edwina.

"Hello aunt." Edwina called politely.

Agustina smirked, "Mucho gusto."

She looked at Edgar and complimented, "Your girlfriend is very pretty, you have a good eye."

"That's right."

Paulina, who was listening, smiled and nodded, "Sure, cousin always has a good eye."

"Well, well, don't just stand there, come in and sit down." Agustina patted Edwina and ushered her into the old house.

Mrs. Gloria was directing the maids to clean the house and when she saw them return, she greeted them hurriedly, "Agustina, you're back at last, how are you, still not feeling well?" "No, no, everything is fine, don't worry." Agustina's face was full of smiles.

Mrs. Gloria lowered her heart, then looked back and was surprised, "Edgar, you're here."

"Hello Aunt." Edgar greeted politely.

"Good, good, good." Mrs. Gloria was beaming with joy.

It had been a long time since the family had been in such high spirits.

Edgar put his arm around Edwina and introduced her with a smile, "Aunt, this is my girlfriend Edwina."

Edwina called out politely, "Hello, Aunt."

"Girlfriend." Ms. Gloria's face filled with a kind and cordial smile, "Welcome to my house, I heard from Paulina that you are very good friends with her, you should come to play more often in the future." The tension and worry in Edwina's mind eased.

She smiled back, "Yes, thank you, Aunt."

"Have a seat."

Mrs. Gloria greeted them as they sat down and turned her head to order the maid to pour coffee and water.

After about twenty minutes, Baggott and Dulce arrived as well.

Dulce's smile froze for a few seconds at the sight of Edwina before she recovered, "Baggott."

Edwina stood up, "Hello Aunt and Uncle."

Baggott smiled and said nothing.

"Have a seat." said Dulce.

Edwina did as she was told and sat down.

Edgar took her hand and whispered in her ear, "Don't be nervous, my parents aren't that scary."

Edwina smiled and said "yes".

...

Paulina took Edwina and Bonnie upstairs after the grown-ups had had a nice chat.

Esteban and Sweety were surprised to see Bonnie.

The three little ones were not rusty from not seeing each other for so long and were soon playing together.

"Let's let them play by themselves while we go out on the deck and sit and talk." Paulina withdrew her gaze from the children and turned her head to look at Edwina.

"Sure."

Edwina readily agreed.

She stepped out onto the terrace and gazed up at the clear blue sky, the breeze brushing her cheeks, and the faint scent of flowers.

Feeling instantly relaxed, she exclaimed, "It's so nice and comfortable here."

"It is nice. You can bring Bonnie to the house more often from now on."

Edwina turned her head to look at her, a helpless smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "That takes time, too."

Paulina quirked an eyebrow, "Anyway, when you have time, bring Bonnie over to play."

"Okay."

The air was suddenly still, silence stretched silently between the two.

Paulina pursed her lips and hesitated, "... Your relationship with my cousin is more or less stable now, and my brother-in-law and sister-in-law are okay with you two being together, so I'm very happy for you." But Edwina's expression didn't exactly look relaxed.

"What's wrong?" asked Paulina with concern.

Edwina thought for a moment, "Mrs. Paulina, I always feel so unreal. I'm so afraid that it's just a dream, that I'll wake up and everything will go back to the way it was before."

"I understand how you feel." Paulina gave him a reassuring smile. "There's bound to be some trepidation, some worry, isn't there?"

Edwina smiled and lowered her head, looking at her hands.

Indeed, she was suffering from something, or rather, she was afraid of having it and then losing it.

"Don't overthink it." Paulina reached out to cover her hand and reassured her, "You have to trust your cousin, as long as his feelings for you are true, there is nothing to fear." Edwina looked up, "Mrs. Paulina, when you were with Mr. Marcos, would you have been like that too?"

"Well ..." Paulina laughed softly, "Actually it didn't go very well, he just stayed. So you and my cousin can do it too."

Edwina took a deep breath, "I wish I had your courage too."

"You do, or you'd probably be separated from your cousin by now." Paulina patted her hand.
