Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1361: Only Children Play with Balloons
Marriage was something Edwina couldn't even think about.
She collected her emotions and curved the corners of her mouth, "Let's not talk about it, let's go eat noodles." After saying that, she turned around and headed to the dining room.
"Edwina, what are you running away from?" asked Edgar in a low voice as he watched her back.
Edwina faltered in her steps and her body stiffened slightly.
Silence fell around her again.
It was a long time before Edwina looked back at him, "I'm not running away, I just don't want to talk about it."
"Isn't that a cop-out?" Edgar took a step forward and stood in front of her, his gaze locked on her pretty little face. "We're going to register our marriage tomorrow." Edwina looked at him incredulously, "Are you crazy?"
"I even brought my account book." Edgar pulled the account book out of his suit pocket.
Seeing the account book in his hand, Edwina understood that he meant it, and that it wasn't just an impromptu promise.
She felt a little elated, but then, on second thought, she despaired.
"Edgar, have your parents accepted?"
"Yes." Edgar quickly replied.
Edwina looked stunned, "Have they agreed?"
"My parents agreed with us when I was admitted to the hospital two days ago."
Edwina only heard the first half of the sentence and went white with fear, clutching his arm and anxiously asking, "You were in the hospital, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Edgar raised an eyebrow, "If I hadn't been smart, my parents wouldn't have gotten engaged."
Worried that he would feel guilty if he told the truth, Edgar didn't tell her that he had actually fainted and gone to the hospital.
Edwina let go of his hand, frowning slightly. "Aren't you afraid your parents would be angry if they found out?"
Edgar curved his lips into a smile, "By the time we register and get married, it will be too late for them to be angry."
"Edgar, getting married is a big deal, you can't be impulsive. If we ever get married, I want it to be with your parents' true approval."
"I'm not impulsive." Edgar took a deep breath and said sincerely, "Edwina, I really want to marry you, and my parents really agree." Edwina was silent for a few seconds before speaking, "I don't want to get married yet."
Inevitably, Edgar felt a little disappointed, but from Edwina's point of view, he could understand.
"Okay, you don't want to get married, we can talk about our relationship for a few more years, and then get married whenever you want."
"Let's go eat the noodles." Edwina smiled and took a big step toward the restaurant.
Watching her back, Edgar's brow slowly furrowed, even though he had found her, he felt something was different somewhere.
It was already late before Edgar left the villa.
Before leaving, he hugged Edwina tightly and whispered in her ear, "No more leaving without saying goodbye, I'm going to free up a few days recently and take you and Bonnie on a trip." "That's not necessary." Edwina pulled him aside, glared at him and said earnestly, "I'm not going to sneak away again, you don't have to make time for us."
"But I want to spend time with you."
Edwina lost her smile, "Okay then, whatever you want."
"Go to bed soon." Edgar lowered his head and planted a kiss on her forehead, "Good night."
"Good night."
He watched his car drive away until it disappeared from view before Edwina turned and went inside.
...
Although Eliazar had arranged for someone to keep an eye on Earlene, Marcos wasn't sure.
When Eliazar went to brief him that day, he told him, without hesitation, "Send a few more men to covertly protect Paulina, Esteban and Sweety." Eliazar nodded, "Good."
"Brother, now Earlene hasn't moved at all, she hasn't found anything, has she?". Alvaro was also worried.
"Second Prince, it won't be." Eliazar said, "Our men are trained, you don't have to worry."
"Of course I trust you guys. But the other side is no slouch either."
Alvaro's biggest concern was not Earlene, but Earlene's companions, and those Skywolf mercenaries.
Marcos' eyes narrowed slightly, "Anyway, protect Paulina and the girl."
"Yes."
After Eliazar left, Alvaro thought for a moment and said, "Brother, why don't I go to the Bartram family myself and see what Earlene's attitude is?"
"No need." Marcos gave him a sidelong glance, "If you go, it's a waste of time."
Mr. Juan had mentioned going to see the Bartram family earlier, but in the end he hadn't gone.
To Mark, it was all a waste of time.
Since Earlene had the courage to pay the mercenaries, it meant that The Leoz Family was no longer on his mind.
"So there's really nothing we can do about Earlene?"
Alvaro's stomach filled with fire just thinking about what Earlene had done.
"I'm not even in a hurry, what's yours?" Marcos hooked his lips into a pout, "I'd like to see what else she can do."
"With her personality, I'm sure she's doing something crazier than what she's doing now." The more Alvaro thought about it, the more he decided he couldn't stay that way, "Brother, I've decided to start with the Bartram Group." "What do you want to do?" asked Marcos.
Alvaro shrugged, "I just wanted to warn Earlene."
"Don't go overboard." Marcos didn't stop him.
"I've got it under control, don't worry bro." Alvaro only intended to give Earlene a heads up, and he wouldn't actually confront the Bartram Group.
...
Paulina and the two young men stayed home every day, just in case Earlene had flipped out and done something else.
But as the days went by, nothing happened and the kids got bored at home and wanted to go out.
Marcos and Paulina had no choice but to take the two children to the oceanarium.
Although secretly protected, Marcos was constantly on guard, with his eyes on the three of them every second.
Paulina smiled, held his hand tightly and said, "Don't worry, this time we'll be close to you, nothing will happen."
She knew he was scared because of what had happened last time, and she herself was still having palpitations. Marcos smiled and said nothing more.
"Mom! I want the big white balloon." Sweety's soft voice suddenly rang out, reaching out and pointing to a place that sold hydrogen balloons.
Paulina bent down and picked her up, gave her a kiss on the cheek and said affectionately, "Good, then go buy balloons for our Sweety and ask brother if he wants them."
At this, Sweety was overjoyed, her big eyes curved into half moons as she looked at Esteban, "Brother, do you want balloons?".
Stephen's cold face had a tinge of expression, he pursed his lips for a moment and said in a serious manner, "Only children play with balloons."
