Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1319: This Time It's Home

Marcos got out of the car, walked up to Earlene and said in a light voice, "You don't have to fight, they only listen to me now." At those words, Earlene's eyes widened in surprise, "What are you talking about?".

It was clear that it was her people, how could she...

"What have you done to them?" questioned Earlene in a stern voice.

Mark's mouth curved into a sneer and instead of answering her question, he ordered, "Take her away."

Earlene flew into a rage and shouted, "Marcos, I saved your life, and this is how you treat me?"

"Don't worry, I won't do anything to you." Marcos turned his back on her, his voice calm and unperturbed.

"You won't do anything to me?" Earlene let out a laugh, a sarcastic smile, "Marcos, I really underestimate you."

"Stay well in the villa and don't do anything else that's unpleasant."

Earlene was taken to a villa on the outskirts of the camp, which Marcos had improvised.

He watched as they took Earlene upstairs and locked her in her room before turning to leave.

...

Paulina thought it would be a while before she saw Marcos again, but she never thought they would be reunited so soon.

When the butler took him away, she thought for a moment that she was hallucinating and pinched her thigh so hard that her eyes instantly turned red with pain.

But the next second, he didn't mind the pain and asked in a slightly agitated tone, "So what brings you here?"

Marcos raised his eyebrows slightly, "Aren't you welcome?".

Paulina let out a laugh, "Welcome, of course."

Seeing her smile, Marcos couldn't help but smile too.

Esteban and Sweety rushed over to Marcos excited to see him.

Marcos knelt down and hugged one with one hand.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" asked Sweety in a milky voice.

"Are you glad daddy is home?" asked Marcos.

Sweety nodded, "Yes, of course I'm happy. But Mom is happier."

She turned her head to look at Paulina.

Paulina's cheeks tinged an unnatural scarlet, "Don't listen to the little ones, they are happier than I am."

Marcos looked at her with a special softness in his eyes, "I mean it, this time I'm coming home, not just to spend the day with you."

At this statement, Paulina was first stunned and then surprised, "Do you mean it..., Earlene is willing to let you come back?"

"You don't have to worry about her, bottom line, I'm not going back to the Bartram family." Mark had chosen to keep Earlene's business to himself because he didn't want her to worry. Paulina didn't know what was going on, as long as he came back.

Tears of joy slipped from the corners of her eyes and she hastily reached up to wipe them away, breaking into a smile, "Welcome home."

...

Alfredo rushed over to the Khan family as soon as he heard that his boss had returned.

As soon as he saw Marcos, Alfredo's eyes turned red, even as a man.

He raised his hand to wipe the corners of his wet eyes, and the corners of his mouth turned up, "President, he's finally back."

"He is?" Marcos turned his head and looked at Paulina in confusion.

He didn't remember the man in front of him, only felt a sense of familiarity.

"He's your assistant, Alfredo," Paulina replied.

Marcos nodded in realization and shifted his gaze to Alfredo, the corners of his mouth turned up in a seemingly shallow curve, "It's been hard on you during my absence."

"It hasn't been hard at all. As long as you come back safe and sound, I haven't really done much work." said Alfredo.

Marcos reflected for a moment and said, "I may have to bother you later. Because I don't remember the past and I need you to tell me, little by little, what I should do."

At that moment, Paulina took his hand in hers and said softly, "You don't have to be in a hurry to want to do anything. The most important thing for you now is to rest, and you don't have to worry about company with Alvaro." Marcos knew she was worried and explained with a smile, "I'm not worried, but I hope it will help me remember what happened before."

"If you want to know about the old days, I can tell you about it slowly."

Marcos nodded, "Okay."

The evening was filled with laughter throughout the old Khan family home.

Dulce was especially happy to have Marcos back and prepared a table of food and a bowl of noodles for Marcos to eat to eliminate bad luck.

"Eating it will remove the bad luck and all will be well in the future." said Dulce.

Marcos looked at the big bowl of noodles in front of him and exclaimed, "Auntie, how come I eat so much?".

"Let Paulina help you eat with him." Dulce threw a wink at Paulina.

Paulina frowned, "I can't eat that much either."

Edgar couldn't help himself, "Mom, even we can't finish that big bowl, can we?".

"Shut up." Dulce looked at him with disgust, wasn't it because she was so happy that she had cooked so much by accident?

Dulce looked at Marcos and said, "Then eat as much as you can, as much as you want."

At that, Marcos sighed in relief.

"Cousin husband, are you sure you're not going back to the Bartram family when you come back this time?" Edgar took the floor and asked.

"I'm not going back." Marcos looked at Paulina, "I should go back with La familia Leoz since I am from La familia Leoz."

Edgar thought for a moment and then asked, "And Earlene will leave it at that?"

At the mention of Earlene, Dulce became annoyed, "Brat, can't you mention her on such a happy day?"

Edgar couldn't help but laugh, "Mom, didn't you like her before?".

"That's because I'm blind!".

Dulce felt like slapping herself just thinking about how she had tried to set her son and Earlene up before.

It really was the shame of her life.

To have let herself be fooled by a girl.

Edgar raised an eyebrow and said meaningfully, "I hope it's just this once."

Dulce didn't hear the deeper meaning of his words and said uncharitably, "Don't worry, it's just this once."

But Paulina heard her and looked at Edgar and sighed somberly.

"Marcos, hurry up and eat while it's hot." said Dulce to Marcos, turning to go to the kitchen.

Only when he had gone did Paulina speak in a whisper and ask, "Cousin, how are you and Edwina?"

"Pretty good."

Paulina nodded, "That's good."

"What's wrong?" asked Edgar.

Paulina shook her head, "Nothing, I'm just worried."

Edgar lost his smile, "You don't have to worry about our business. Now that your cousin's husband is back, spend some time with him."

"I know." Paulina looked at Marcos, curved her lips into a smile and said, "I'm taking him and the baby to J-Town."

Edgar was surprised to hear this decision of hers, "Decided?".

Paulina smiled, "Maybe going back to The Leoz Family, seeing the familiar surroundings will remind him of something."

Edgar nodded approvingly, "It's possible."

"Well, in a couple of days we'll be home. You've had your work cut out for you."

Hearing that, Edgar grimaced, feigning displeasure, "It's not nice of you to say that!".

"I'm not being insulting. I don't know how I would have made it through without you guys."

Paulina was serious, if it weren't for his support, he really wouldn't have been able to hold on.
