Love Comes To Me
Chapter 1309: Don't be ashamed

Edwina laughed, "Auntie, what am I getting ahead of myself on?".

"How much do you really want? I can pay whatever you bid!" Dulce thought she was trying to show off her son before she left him.

"Tia, my feelings for Edgar are not something money can measure."

Edwina said, taking a deep breath, "I know the Khan family has money, but what does that have to do with me. Even if Edgar were an ordinary man, I would be willing to be with him." Dulce was not impressed by this genuine expression of her attitude, but felt she was being hypocritical.

"Edgar can't be an ordinary man, it's a bit ridiculous for you to say such things."

A surge of helplessness instantly overwhelmed Edwina and she pressed her lips together helplessly, "Auntie, what exactly do you want me to do before I agree to be with Edgar?" "Whatever you do, I won't accept." Dulce's attitude was very firm and there was absolutely no wiggle room.

Since she put it beyond words, Edwina no longer had any qualms.

"Well then, I have the same attitude as my aunt, there's no way I'm leaving Edgar."

"You!" Dulce was instantly annoyed, "You have a child with you, do you think you're worthy of Edgar?"

"It's never for the next person to decide if you're worthy or not. Edgar and I like each other, that's all that matters."

"Like each other?" Dulce snorted, "Your liking will only delay it!".

"I trust Edgar."

There was no way she was going to leave Edgar, no matter what happened.

Dulce laughed angrily, "I really underestimated you. If I had known you were such an insensitive person, I never would have let Paulina get too close to you in the first place." The contempt in his words was palpable.

Edwina couldn't help but feel a little hard inside.

If she hadn't been nice to herself once, she wouldn't have felt bad about it.

Edwina pressed her palms together, then released them and raised her eyes, her clear gaze settling on Dulce's face. "Aunt, did you see how distraught Mrs. Paulina was when she separated from her husband?" Dulce's brow furrowed, "What do you mean?"

"I just want to tell you that if I leave Edgar, both he and I will suffer as much as Mrs. Paulina did."

Dulce had seen how much pain Paulina and Marcos had suffered during the time they had been apart, and now that she had said it, it was more or less on her mind.

"You spare your son the pain?" asked Edwina.

Dulce sulked and didn't answer.

Edwina didn't care and continued, "I respect you, but I hope you don't push Edgar, the last thing I want is for Edgar to suffer."

"You're accusing me of that after everything you've said?". Dulce's tone took on a tinge of questioning.

"No." Edwina shook her head, "I just want you to think more about Edgar."

"Edgar is my son, it's not your place to dictate what I do with him." Dulce became angry and blushed.

Edwina bit her lip and stopped making noise.

"I'm asking you again, are you going to leave Edgar?"

"I'm not leaving Edgar."

Dulce nodded, "Good, then I'll make it clear today."

She paused and continued, "You're right, it may be painful for Edgar to keep you two apart. But time will heal all, and my son will only suffer temporarily without you, not forever." Edwina curved her mouth and said lightly, "You know your son?"

Edgar was too long-suffering a man to suffer only temporarily.

Dulce raised an eyebrow, "I gave birth to my son, I know him better. Since you don't want to leave my son, don't blame me for being cruel."

At those words, Edwina's fingertips twitched slightly and so did her lips, but in the end neither said anything.

They both collapsed and Edwina didn't stay much longer. As she left, Dulce said coldly, "You have to be self-conscious and not embarrassing."

At these words, Edwina's face turned white and a bitter smile tugged at the corners of her lips.

It turned out that in Dulce's eyes, she was a bad person.

...

Since receiving Alvaro's call, Almeida and Sener quickly set about researching.

"If we want to develop a drug that will restore the prince's memory, we must first find out what the other side drugged him with." said Almeida. Sener frowned, "But is it even detectable now?".

It had been quite some time since the day the prince disappeared, just in case there was no residue of the drug left in the prince's blood.

Almeida shared his concern, but...

"Whether it can be detected or not, we should try."

Sener nodded, "Okay then, I'll call Paulina and ask her to find a way to get the prince's blood."

He then took out his phone and dialed Paulina's number.

Paulina had just returned to the Khan family home from the hospital. She sent the housekeeper upstairs with the two children to change and headed to the living room to sit down. Dulce brought a glass of water over to her and set it in front of her, asking her with concern, "Are you tired?"

Paulina looked at her with a resigned expression, "Yes, I am. My mom keeps asking Marcos why he hasn't returned from his trip in so long, I don't know how I'm going to lie to her." "Tough." Dulce smiled at her.

Paulina laughed softly, "Tough is nothing, it's just that I don't know when Marcos will be back."

"You have to have faith in him."

"Of course I have faith in him, but I really don't want to wait any longer."

Paulina felt like she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, and if Marcos didn't come back to her, she was really going to run out to the Bartram family to rob them.

"By the way, didn't you say that Marcos promised you'd come to see the baby?" Dulce remembered what she had mentioned earlier.

"Yes he did say that, but he hasn't contacted me in the last two days." At that, Paulina couldn't help but feel a loss inside, "I sent him a message and he didn't even answer me." "Has something happened?" Dulce asked.

"Probably."

If she was right, Earlene must have done something, otherwise Marcos couldn't have texted her back.

"Why don't we go to the Bartram family again?" suggested Dulce.

"If we still can't get in touch, I'll go again."

Paulina had barely finished her sentence when her phone suddenly rang.

Thinking it was Marcos, she hurried to pull it out of her purse, and disappointment flooded her as soon as she saw the caller ID.

When she picked it up, Sener's voice rang immediately, "Paulina, there's something we'd like to ask you."

"What is it?" asked Paulina.
