Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1308: Bite me dead.
"I'll handle my marriage." Edgar looked at her with an expressionless face, showing no mercy.
"Well my marriage I call the shots!". Elva laughed and stood up abruptly, asking rhetorically, "With a family like ours, do you think you can make your own decisions?"
"You can't, but I can." Edgar looked at Dulce, "Mom, I've actually said it several times, and you should know it in your heart. If you really like her, you can love her like a daughter, you don't have to let me marry her."
"Edgar, it's not up to you." Dulce stood up, "You can't say you don't want to marry her. I don't want to separate the two families because of you, and I don't want people to say that the Khan family doesn't keep their promises." Edgar frowned, "Does my happiness matter so little compared to that of the Khan family and your face?"
"Elva is a good girl, you'll be happy married to her."
"No way!" Edgar dismissed her words flatly, "I don't like her, what happiness can there be!".
Another dislike!
Elva could contain herself no longer and her voice rose sharply, "You want to marry that bitch Edwina, I tell you it's not possible! It will never work."
At that moment, Edgar's face went cold and his gaze shifted to her.
Elva lifted her chin and said arrogantly, "I'm the only one who's good for you."
Edgar's lips curved into a cold sneer, "I can still hold my own in the Khan Group without the help of the Boone Family."
His confidence and glower caught Elva's attention and her heart fluttered, but the thought of disliking him brought melancholy back to her mind.
"The marriage between The Terrazas Family and The Boone Family is a foregone conclusion, you must marry me." He said firmly.
"Impossible."
Without hesitation!
"You will not marry Edwina while I am around!" Elva was furious and warned him once more.
Edgar's eyes narrowed slightly as he took a step forward and approached her with an icy expression. "Even if it's impossible for me to marry her, it's not your turn." He said it in a desperate manner.
The pupils of Elva's eyes narrowed, and her whole face instantly turned ugly.
Dulce, who had overheard their conversation, furrowed her eyebrows and said, "Edgar, how can you talk to Elva like that?"
"Mom, you and Dad had better call it quits."
With that, Edgar went straight up the stairs.
Elva burst into tears as she watched his back without looking back.
Dulce panicked and rushed to calm her down, "Elva, don't cry, Auntie will do it for you."
"Auntie, she won't take any notice of you." Elva said as she sobbed.
"She has to listen even if she won't." Said Dulce.
She couldn't leave the brat to his fate.
"Tia, you have to help me, I really like Edgar." said Elva as she squeezed his hand.
"I know." Dulce patted her hand, "Auntie will definitely help you."
At that, Elva broke into a smile, "Auntie is the best for me."
...
The next day, Edwina arrived at the Khan family's old house.
Before she arrived, she received a call from Dulce asking her to come back after nine o'clock.
It was supposed to be a way of staggering with Edgar so they wouldn't cross paths.
"Mrs. Edwina, sit down here for a moment, the lady is still busy and will come later." The butler led her into the parlor and sat down. Edwina pursed her lips and smiled, "That's fine."
But she didn't expect to be sitting for almost an hour before Dulce arrived unhurriedly.
Dulce walked over to her and sat down, taking a sip of the coffee on the table before raising her eyes to shoot her an indifferent look. Edwina's hands tightened in her lap.
Dulce set the cup down and spoke slowly, "Do you know what I asked you to come here for?"
"Yes." It wasn't the connection between them Edgar, and naturally it was for Edgar.
"Well then, I'll get to the point." Dulce spoke softly and gently, "Leave my son."
Edwina's mind froze, this was too direct.
But she reacted quickly and said earnestly, "Aunt, I'm sorry, I can't leave Edgar."
Dulce didn't bother and asked, "Why?"
"Because I love him." Edwina straightened her back and kindly confessed her feelings.
"Love?" Dulce raised an eyebrow, "Do you think the word 'love' is enough to keep two people together?"
Edwina wrinkled her brow and didn't answer.
"The answer is not enough." Dulce smiled, "If it were enough, there wouldn't be so many couples breaking up for other reasons, like material things. It takes more than love to maintain a relationship, it also takes money."
Edwina's brow furrowed, "So, what is Auntie trying to say?"
"The Khan family also has a certain status in Kyoto, Edgar is the president of the Khan Group, and you should know very well how good he is." Dulce felt that she had implied it so clearly that she should be able to hear it.
Edwina did hear it, and took a deep breath, "Does Auntie think I love Edgar, but I really only love his money and power?"
Dulce didn't answer, so it was a tacit acknowledgment.
"Auntie, you're insulting my feelings for Edgar!" Edwina grimaced.
Undeterred, Dulce asked softly, "How much money do you need before you're willing to leave Edgar?"
Take the money and leave?
Edwina had never imagined that one day something like this would happen to her.
She tightened the corners of her lips, lowered her eyes and said coldly, "I won't take any money."
Dulce frowned: "Don't get ahead of yourself!".
