Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 1305: Stand Still and Wait for Me.
"Wait? How long do we have to wait?" Mrs. Gloria sighed heavily, "Your father and I are fine, it's you."
Mr. Juan, Ms. Gloria was more distressed for Paulina.
Paulina smiled weakly, "Dad, Mom, you don't have to worry about me, I'll be fine."
"No, we still have to find a way to bring Marcos home." Mrs. Gloria did not want to drag the situation out any longer, she feared that by then her eldest son would have married another woman. "Mom, we will have to go back and think of a way too." said Alvaro.
"All right, we'll go back and think about it."
Mrs. Gloria took the lead to the car and Paulina looked up to the second floor of the villa as she walked.
On the balcony of the room where Marcos was staying there was not a soul at that moment.
She felt a pang of loss in her heart.
He turned around and got into the car.
As the car started to drive away, Marcos appeared on the balcony.
He watched the car drive away and did not return to the house until it was out of sight, still looking in the direction it had gone.
...
Edgar drove Paulina and the others to the Khan family's old house and then headed straight for the office.
Bonita saw them enter, probed behind them, and asked suspiciously, "Where's big brother?"
"Still at the Bartram's," Alvaro said as he walked over and picked up the baby in his arms.
"Why didn't you bring big brother?". Bonita looked at Paulina, disbelief reflected on her face.
"He didn't want to leave." Paulina smiled to herself, "Now he cares more about Earlene's kindness to him than he does about me." "Sister-in-law." Bonita couldn't help but feel a little sorry for her.
Paulina gently shook her head, "I'm just fine, don't worry about me."
Despite what she said, Bonita walked over to her and hugged her, "I'm sure big brother will be back with you soon."
Hearing Bonita's comforting words, Paulina's eyes unconsciously reddened and a fine mist of water floated upward. When exactly was soon?
She didn't know for sure, but it was better to have something to look forward to than nothing.
Paulina pursed her lips, forced herself to hold back tears, squeezed out a smile and said, "Thank you, Bonita." "Sister-in-law, if there's anything you need from Alvaro, tell him." Bonita said.
"Good." Paulina nodded.
They said they would go home and think of something, but a few thought about it and still couldn't come up with anything good. "Dad, Mom, we have to trust Marcos, he really won't forget about us."
Paulina thought the only hope now was for Marcos himself to regain his memory.
Mr. Juan nodded approvingly, "Paulina is right, Marcos is the pride of The Leoz family, a good son to us, a good husband to Paulina, a good father to Esteban and Sweety, he won't forget everyone." "But he is now forgotten." Mrs. Gloria let out a long sigh, "How long will it take for him to remember on his own?"
Something suddenly occurred to Paulina and her eyes lit up, "Sure, Marcos' memory loss is artificial, he was drugged by Earlene."
Alvaro instantly understood what she meant, "You want us to drug my brother to get his memory back too, right?"
Paulina nodded busily, "Yes, that's what I was thinking."
"Is that possible to accomplish?" Bonita asked doubtfully.
Although the memory loss was due to the medicine, I'm afraid it's not so simple to get it back."
"That's not clear. We would have to ask Almeida and Sener." said Paulina.
Alvaro nodded, "Okay, I'll ask Almeida and the others."
With that, he picked up his phone and walked to the side to call Almeida.
Paulina took Mrs. Gloria's hand and said quietly, "Mom, don't think so much, we'll find a way."
Mrs. Gloria patted her hand, "Don't worry, I won't overthink it."
Paulina smiled and said nothing more.
On the other end, Alvaro ended his call with Almeida and turned to approach, "Sister-in-law, Almeida said they might try."
Since Almeida had said he would try, that meant there must be a way.
Paulina couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, "Great."
"Then we'll wait for good news from Almeida and the others." Alvaro said.
"Good." Paulina nodded her head.
...
Edgar arrived at the office and took the elevator directly from the subway parking garage to the floor where his office was located.
As soon as he saw him arrive, Ivor immediately greeted him, looking anxious, "Mr. Edgar, Mrs. Elva is here again."
At that, Edgar frowned, "Where?".
"In her office."
Edgar looked toward the closed door of his office, frowned and said, "Hold off on today's entire schedule and contact me by phone for anything else important." With that, he turned and prepared to leave.
Ivor hurried to catch up with him, "President, are you planning to skip work?"
Edgar gave him a sidelong glance and said nothing.
"You can't leave Mrs. Elva to me, can you?". Ivor shuddered at the thought of having to deal with Elva.
He couldn't afford to mess with a lady of that caliber.
"Aren't you my assistant?" asked Edgar instead of answering.
"I am her assistant, but I deal with her business affairs, not her personal ones."
Ivor was right and Edgar raised an eyebrow, "Then let's start taking care of my personal business today."
And he headed for the elevator.
Ivor did his best to follow him, but stopped him.
"President, you can't be so cruel." Ivor looked at him with tears in his eyes.
Edgar curved his lips, "Hard work, my right hand."
With those words, he pressed the door lock button and Ivor's face, which was on the verge of tears, was locked in the doorway.
Edgar exhaled slowly as the elevator descended. It was lucky Ivor had told him in time, otherwise Elva would have seen him and it would have been a problem.
But where to go if not to work?
The restaurant had taken over the buffet setup for an event and Edwina had been assigned the task of setting up the place to eat and she was so busy that the cell phone in her pocket rang and she didn't have time to answer it. It wasn't until the preparations were finished that she went to the corner and pulled out her phone.
There were several missed calls, all from Edgar.
He hurried to call them back and they soon picked up, with Edgar's anxious voice.
"Why aren't you answering your phone?"
Edgar was really anxious and thought something had happened to her by not answering the phone.
Knowing that he was worried about her, Edwina's heart crossed a warm torrent and she softly replied, "The restaurant picked up an outdoor meeting, I was just busy."
Relieved by this, Edgar asked, "Do you need help?".
"No." Edwina was quick to refuse, how could she dare ask the president of the group to do such a menial job?
"I'm almost there, where are you, I'll come and get you."
Edwina was surprised and asked, "Don't you have to go to work?"
"I missed you."
The deep voice fell on her ears and Edwina felt her whole body go numb, she bit her lip, "I miss you too."
Edgar's cheerful laugh came from the other end of the phone, "Stay put and wait for me."
With that, the phone hung up.
The corners of Edwina's mouth turned up uncontrollably.
