Let Me Love You Again -
Chapter 142
Nate
“I swear to Dare, no more s*x!” Maya said with clenched teeth as she doubled over in pain.
I didn’t say a word, I just held her hand, which was now sore from how hard Maya was holding her, so much as to almost break her, I’m sure she imagined it was my d**k.
I sighed and continued to listen in silence to the series of insults he was giving me, it had been going on for hours now, almost ten to be precise. Maya had been in labour for almost ten hours. Ten hours of pain, insults, threats, crying, and I stood still for ten hours. I hadn’t moved from his bedside for ten hours, I hadn’t even gotten up to pee, and I was tempted to ask for a catheter.
Maya pierced another sequence of insults for me as the door to her room opened and the midwife entered with some nurse.
“Okay, Maya, now let’s see how dilated you are,” said the midwife, putting on gloves and between Maya’s legs, “Well, we can see her head, I think we can start. Ladies prepare everything,” said Rising.
The nurses moved quickly, passed the necessary to the midwife and prepared the rest. Maya pulled herself up, breathing deeply as I sat on the bed behind her, placing a hand on her belly and then leaning over and kissing her on the sweat-wet neck.
“I love you mon amour,” I said quietly so that only she could hear.
“I want to see if you’ll say it again when we don’t have s*x anymore,” she said with clenched teeth.
I grabbed her hand and crossed our fingers. The midwife repositioned between Maya’s legs, with the nurses behind.
“Okay, Maya, now I want you to start pushing, okay?”
Maya nodded, took a deep breath, and when the doctor told her, she began to push, clutching my hands, crushing them completely and then falling against me.
She did it again and again and again until she fell against my exhausted chest and the crying of our child filled the room. The midwife handed it to the nurse, who wrapped it in a blanket and placed it on Maya’s chest.
Maya immediately surrounded him with her arms, holding him to her chest while she kissed him gently on his bloody head. I sighed and bent down too, putting a hand on the nape of our child as I bent down to look at him.
“He has your eyes,” I said to Maya, leaving a k**s on her cheek.
Maya nodded and held him tight, whispering “Adam” softly.
Maya nodded and held him tight, whispering “Adam” softly.
The nurse approached and took Adam, while the midwife finished her work between Maya’s legs, as she sighed and crouched against me, her eyes tired and fatigued. She turned her head and looked at me and then leaned towards me, kissed her lips salty with sweat and tears and then I put my forehead on hers as she sighed, when I came off she let her head fall softly on my shoulder closing her eyes and making a tired sigh.
“Rest Mon amour,” I whispered in her ear, and she nodded.
Her body became heavier and she felt as her breath relaxed as she fell into oblivion.

Maya
My whole body ached, it looked like I ran a marathon, and my throat was dry. My eyes could hardly open as I passed my tongue on my lips, trying to moisten them. With a sigh, she opened her eyes, immediately struck by the lights hanging from the ceiling that forced me to close my eyes and make a sigh. He opened them slowly, bringing a hand to my belly instinctively but there was nothing there, then I remembered where I was and I tried to pull myself up quickly.
“Easy mon amour” heard Nate’s feeble voice and I turned to where that sound was coming from.
I found him sitting on the chair, in his arms a bundle wrapped in blue covers, while my wonderful husband was completely dishevelled, his eyes reddened and his face tired, but he was happy.
I sighed and rested on the pillows as he stood up, paying close attention, and approached me, then sat on the bed next to me. I looked at our child in his arms, sleeping blissfully, as if nothing had happened, safely in his father’s arms, and I sighed with satisfaction.
“Do you want to take him?” Nate asked softly.
I shook my head I snuggled against him, resting my head on his shoulder as I kept staring at Adam sleeping. Adam was the perfect match between me and Nate, with a few more traits taken from Nate but it was perfect. Unlike Ali, her hair was a little lighter, the blond tuft sticking out of the hat she was wearing.
I sighed and laid a hand on her delicate little body while Nate kissed me on the head.
“Axel and Ali?” I asked.
From the light that filtered through the windows, I could guess that it was late at night, this meant that I had slept for many hours after giving birth and despite this, I still felt exhausted.
“At home with grandparents. I sent them away when it started to get too late, it was not easy because they wanted to see you, but I promised them that tomorrow morning they would come here immediately” he said quietly.
I sighed, “Well,” I finally closed my eyes and remained attached to Nate as peace and serenity pervaded my body.
We stood in silence for a long time, united watching our third child sleep blissfully in Nate’s arms. Adam yawned and I was enchanted to watch him raise his hands and carry them against his face, then open his grey eyes just like mine. He looked at me intensely before his l*p began to tremble and his eyes filled with tears.
“I think it’s time for the first feeding,” I said, standing straight.
Nate hurried to pass Adam to me before he burst into desperate tears as I lowered my hospital gown, freeing the swollen breasts. As soon as Adam was in my arms, he clung his mouth to his breast, drinking voraciously and greedily while holding on to my gown.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,” Nate said, frowning.
I laughed to see how Adam clung to my breasts, “He’s like you in this,” I said looking at him.
“Yes, but I still have priority,” he said confidently.
“Oh, do you?”
“Yeah, so be careful, Adam,” he said, bending over and kissing Adam’s little head.
She lifted up and kissed me, her lips were soft and represented my home.
“I don’t know how to thank you for everything you gave me Mon amour, you are my home, my family, my soul and the love of my life. I love you as I’ve never loved anyone, well as I love only our children. You gave me a wonderful life that I didn’t even think I wanted,” he said, and I felt his eyes moisten.
“No, thank you for giving me hope in love when I didn’t think I had any more. You gave me back life, and a home, and together we built a wonderful family. I’ve always loved you, Nate, and I’ll always love you,” I said in my hoarse voice with tears on my face.
Nate put his forehead on mine and closed his eyes and then kissed me lightly on the lips.
That was peace, that was finally my life.
