Let Me Love You Again -
Chapter 117
Nate
I woke up early that day because I was anxious. The night before, after putting Axel to bed, my father had answered my message, demanding that I go to the office today to talk, despite the fact that I had told him that once I returned I would take a few days off to be with my family.
I knew Dad was pissed, and as I knew it, there was nothing more important to him than having his name on such important cases, cases that could make the office more famous, especially if we could solve them in such a short time, would bring more customers.
But I also knew that it was tremendously difficult, I had never felt so alone as in those weeks in Seattle, I had never realized what loneliness was, because before I had no one and now I had everything to myself.
I sighed and put my shirt on and then looked in the mirror in the walk-in closet. If my father had been pissed off he would have come to terms with it. I didn’t care.
I took the watch and put it on my wrist as I walked out of the walk-in closet and into my room.
Maya was lying in the middle of the bed, covered only by a sheet with ruffled hair. I approached and bent down to leave a light k**s on her lips then I left a k**s on her belly, Maya didn’t get any upset. Last night we had a little late, it seemed that Maya never had enough.
When I thought I had satisfied her s****l hunger, my beautiful wife would surprise me and throw herself back on me again in search of me again and I could do nothing but please her all night.
I was only able to fill it at first light. Maya had completely collapsed, satisfied, clinging completely to me, my d**k had been grateful to have been able to satisfy her s****l hunger and to have finally had peace.
Of course, if that had been the result of some distance, I would have left willingly whenever my father wanted, just to have Maya tear off my clothes.
I left the room and closed the door behind me, then went to Axel’s room to see if he was awake.
I didn’t want to leave him with Maya, I wanted her to get some rest without having to think about the mess Axel could make.
I thought Axel had improved, that the problems he had shown the first few weeks after that bloody accident had dissipated, but it had been the complete opposite. I was very convinced that Axel had an OCD, though slightly hinted at.
Maya had explained to me that he had created his own daily routine and that he rarely tried to get out of that routine. The thing that worried me, such behaviour for a one-year-old child was not very normal and in the long run, it would become worse and worse if not checked in time.
I sighed and he opened the door to his bedroom. Axel was awake and sitting in bed, silently, contemplating who knows what. As soon as I entered the room, Axel looked up and lit up, then stood up and supported himself at the bars of the bed.
“Daddy” mumbled with his voice still drowsy.
I smiled at him and approached him and then pulled him up and put him in my arms, Axel surrounded my neck with his arms and laid his head on my shoulder sighing.
“Come out with Dad today,” I said, taking him to the changing table to change him, “We have to go buy things for the little sister,” I continued.
“Tittle Tister” he repeated.
Even though I suggested that Maya buy new things, she refused categorically, saying that we could use the Axel things we kept. So we reused his little crib and put it in the room that would go to the baby girl, as well as the changing table that I would have to move to the baby’s room because Axel was getting older and he almost didn’t need it anymore,
Nevertheless, there were some things that were missing. I should have bought another wardrobe, a dresser and a new stroller because Axel’s had broken and we had to throw it away.
There were so many things to do that I didn’t know where I would find the time but, for the moment, I had to go to my father and face the dismissal that would last a few weeks before he called me back to work.
I dressed and I prepared Axel in ten minutes. We went into the bathroom and I prepared the toothbrush for him to brush his teeth, I put him up on the sink and I handed him the small toothbrush while he pointed to the hourglass on the sink, the one he used to count the time of washing his few teeth. I sighed and I turned her so that he could start brushing his teeth with my help.
I coordinated his movements as he looked at himself in the mirror carefully, observing every single movement I showed him to wash as best I could, with a frowning forehead.
When the last speck of the hourglass had fallen, Axel froze and looked at me with his eyes wide open, so I immediately removed his toothbrush from his mouth and passed him the glass full of water. He rinsed carefully and then spat. I picked him up again and stretched him to wash his face and hands.
After completing his ritual, Axel was ready to go out, so we went to the kitchen and quickly I made him something to take away, I made him a bottle with biscuits and I gave him while I put some snacks and snacks in his bag.
Axel followed me step by step with his bottle of milk and biscuits while I prepared breakfast for Maya and left it on the table, covering it with a paper towel.
After finishing it all, I looked down at Axel, who was stretching his empty bottle, and I took it and left it in the sink.
“Ready to go?” I asked.
“Granpa!” he replied cheerfully and reached out his hand.
I grabbed him and we went to the garage together, and I put him in the car and I strapped him into the car seat, and then I got into my seat and I turned on the engine.
It took me a short time to get to the office and I parked in the underground place and then headed with Axel to the office floor.
I hoped that the presence of a child would move my father to pity and prevent outbursts as I already knew he would.
When I got to the floor I was greeted by the secretary who told me that Dad was in the office before giving a lollipop to Axel who took it carefully, looking her straight in the eyes, and then asking me for confirmation. Only after receiving it did he put the lollipop in his mouth and together we went to Dad’s office.
I knocked and waited for his “Come in” before opening the door.
Dad was sitting behind his desk, with his elbows resting on the armrests of the chair and his hands crossed in front of his face. Axel came in before me and looked at my father.
“Granpa!” he shouted cheerfully before running towards him.
He turned behind the desk and my father moved the necessary so that he could pick him up and sit on his lap. I stood at the door while Axel showed my father his lollipop and talked to him, explaining something incomprehensible while Dad nodded interestedly.
After finishing their conversation, Dad sat Axel down comfortably and pulled the chair over to the desk, Axel put his hands on the wood and looked at me, as did my father.
“Close the door, Nathaniel,” said Dad seriously.
“Athaliel” repeated Axel.
They were bitter c***s, I could feel it from the tone of his voice. I sighed and closed the door, preparing myself for the worst.
