I'm Not Yours, Alpha -
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 82
If there was one thing Julian knew very well it was that he had no intention of going back to Nolan, so he had thoroughly prepared his plan since days before. Verifying that the alpha was not nearby he left their cabin hiding in a small bag with the only thing he needed Madox’s documents.
He didn’t care about the contents. Rather, he didn’t want to know. Madox was what he was, but at least he didn’t think he was up to anything illegal. And more so knowing Nolan.
He walked out down the hallway with a quick step and focused on his target. He wouldn’t deny that he was shaking. She felt her hands were clammy and clammy and she was covered in a light layer of cold sweat. Yes she was afraid and very much so.
When she had come up with that plan there were many cons and reasons for it not to come to fruition. The first was that I had not found the papers. Luckily she had been around Nolan long enough to know how stupid he was, luckily her memory was already pretty much intact, even if she wouldn’t have preferred it. Remembering every single thing he did to her inside the walls of her room along with her father turned his stomach and made him feel dirty.
The second, and now more important, was that he not get caught. So he moved forward carefully and looking in all directions trying to walk as naturally as he could. A couple passed by him and stared at him. He was sure it was because they could smell the fear pheromones on him. Which were surrounding him now.
To his luck he didn’t cross paths with anyone despite having to walk halfway across the cruise ship. He was going to a specific place and he had to do it fast. Time was running out. Once he visualized the door at the end of the hallway that said restricted access his heart began to pound harder and he ran there.
He was in an area where cruise ship patrons weren’t supposed to be, so it was deserted, so he wasn’t surprised when he put a hand on the handle to open the door, another hand rested on his shoulder.
Julian blanched.
-What are you doing here?
To his relief it was an unfamiliar voice and it wasn’t just one person. He felt the presence of two. He looked over his shoulder to find two tall men, dressed in white suits of the cruiser’s personnel uniform. They were alphas, he could tell by the presence they exuded and he could tell they were not happy with his presence.
Julian had the urge to run away. He was trembling and clenched his crank so tightly that his fists turned white. But still and even though he bit his l*p he opened his mouth and let his voice out in a whisper.
-Red dove…that flies…over the sea.
Words that to many might seem nonsense, but not to those men who looked at each other and attended. One of them took off the jacket he was wearing and Julian moved closer to the door but the hand on his shoulder prevented him from doing so.
-Quiet. We’re already aware,” said the one who offered him his uniform jacket, “Put this on over you. No unsuitable people should see your face.
Julian then realized that his plan was already underway. Still trembling, he grabbed the jacket and pulled it over his head, covering part of his face. The other alpha took his hand in a rather gentle way even though they looked rough.
-Come with us. He’s waiting for you.
Julian nodded and let himself be led by the two men through the doorway that led to a hallway and then to several booths after climbing some stairs. He kept his head down listening to the people walking past him. Finally, they went through one last door and the light was projected in front of him and the view of the sea through a large window.
-Captain, you’re here,” one of the alphas said, letting go of his hand.
-Julian,” he raised his head without taking off his jacket.
In front of him stood a man, an alpha of about 50 years old in a captain’s suit. His early gray hair did not detract from his attractiveness in any way. That man was the owner of that cruise ship and the person Julian should trust from now on.
-I’m glad he made it. I was worried you wouldn’t make it.
-Thank you Mr. Smit,” he said with a faint smile.
-Well now all that remains is for you to rest, we have prepared a cabin for you next to mine. No one will disturb you and no one will know you are there. When we get to the port I have a friend who will take you to where you told me to go.
-As for the other thing…” He was still nervous.
-Relax Julian, that’s already prepared, but we’ll need the clothes you’re wearing now. One of our waiters specializes in dunking. He’ll dive for you overboard and let’s get two divers ready to meet him below,” the alpha paused and studied her. Are you still sure you want to do this, play dead?
He nodded his head.
-It’s…for the best.
The alpha then nodded and instructed one of the guards to take him and have that very waiter put on his clothes. Julian was then left inside that medium sized room without many things but they made him feel comfortable. Without any odor or pheromone that although he could not define them if they could bother his nose.
It wasn’t long before he heard a huge ruckus. Apparently the captain had already gotten underway with the secret suicide. He had been told that the staff was informed of what was to be done so he felt quite comfortable.
Images of Madox came into his head and he clutched the envelope in his hands. That was all he had left of it now. He had even left the cell phone and the few belongings he had with him now. He couldn’t raise suspicion and more so with Nolan who despite being an idiot was an alpha, and therefore intelligent.
He got up and headed to the bathroom and unclogged the toilet. She remembered the times she had spent with Madox. How she had loved him in silence all these years, how he had cared for him, touched him, kissed him. It all brought a tear to her eye.
What he had longed for most was that she had marked him. Left her mark on his neck claiming it as hers but that never happened. Not even when they met the last time and he woke up knowing he’d passed his rut. And even though Madox wasn’t in his apartment there were traces that he had been there.
He grabbed the envelope and looked at it one last time and…tore it up. He tore it into several pieces just as he was doing internally with his heart. He had to move on. His life. The one that had so far been largely a disaster. He had no intention of looking for a new partner. He was sick of only people coming into his life who didn’t value him just because he was an omega like Nolan.
Or those who were free and open minded like Madox.
When he let the toilet water wash away the papers it also washed away his feelings. It wasn’t that he got rid of them. He loved Madox and very much. Maybe she regretted never telling him but what would they come to. Probably nothing. He was good to him…as he was to the rest of the women he was with.
People like that, if you proposed it was very possible you would never see them again because of the awkward atmosphere and he had accepted that. But the time had come to break that pattern and start his life over. Now Madox would think he was dead. He would surely forget it quickly. He wasn’t that important to him either.
Or so he wanted to believe.
At least he had protected him from Nolan having destroyed all the work of years and effort. It was the least he could give her for all she had helped him with.
The sound of the door caught his attention and he realized he had been standing for quite some time. He wiped his damp cheeks and opened it cautiously. On the other side was only Esteban Smit, the ship’s captain. He stepped aside and let him pass.
-Everything is running perfectly. They’ve bought it.
-Thank you very much.” He still couldn’t believe it had all been so easy. Perhaps destiny was on his side.
-If it was my love’s request, how can I refuse?” he smiled like a lovelorn alpha who softened his masculine features.
Julian did so slightly as well.
This man who had helped her was the husband of one of her most frequent clients when she worked at the salon. She only saw him and somehow they had maintained a good, though not intimate, relationship. When Nolan had planned the boat he had only had to call her and she didn’t know how he had done it, but she had convinced her husband and he had even taken it upon himself to be the cruise captain of the ship they would be traveling on.
It had been amazing and she could never finish thanking him.
Once they had arrived at the port they had taken him off as one of the staff, and if there was that person waiting for him. It took him more than four days to get back, but not to Madox’s arms, but to the far end of the country. Where his aunt was. The only relative he could trust.
And everything would have stayed that way, as he had planned, except that two and a half months later, with morning sickness, a slight swelling in his stomach and general discomfort, he was told at the hospital that he was pregnant…with twins. And there was only one person who could be the father.
So…was fate really playing in his favor or against him?
