I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 81
Madox could not believe his eyes. In front of him was his little bird, no, his little birds, because he already felt that the pair of little balls growing inside him were also his. He could not stop his chest from beating, but automatically his nerves invaded him.
-Sir, sir, sir,” the voice of one of the attendants called out to him, “You need to go to the dance floor.
-Madox turned and growled at him. He was very temperamental at that moment and in a mental dilemma. He had to concentrate on the most important thing which wasn’t exactly his return trip.
The woman paled more kept her mouth shut and lowered her head. She was a simple beta doing her job, she had just encountered an alpha with her problems a little out of hand.
Madox turned back to Julian and dropping her suitcase she approached him, slowly, still not believing he was there. In front of him. So small, so beautiful, so mature. Yes, mature, because after sitting down to analyze him, she understood him. Who would want to be with a man who for years had preferred to be between a woman’s legs than in a serious relationship.
He was an a*****e and he knew it. Even though she was doing her best to change she had no right to come and tell him to bond and trust that she would be faithful to him all her life. Because he was sure that with his track record it wouldn’t be an easy thing to assimilate, so he was determined to try as hard as it took to prove to the omega that he was the one and only one he really needed.
He went cautiously. He didn’t want to admit it, but he was afraid Julian would run off. But he was sure he would run after him all over the airport if necessary. He wouldn’t let him get away like he would have to chase him all over the world.
Julian had let him know what it was like to fall asleep carefree at night. Cuddled warmly and securely like when he was little and his mother tucked him in. A security that after he grew up he found in very few places despite being an alpha. If only he had realized it at the time, he wouldn’t have that anguish in his chest.
-Little bird,” he called out with some hesitation. He still couldn’t believe that the thing next to him was a suitcase.
Julian was serious as he ran his hand over his belly over the white shirt he was wearing. Her red hair stood out a bit more and the alpha wanted to bury his fingers in it again even though it wasn’t as long now.
-Madox… they are not to blame for their parents’ mistakes,” he lowered his head looking at her belly, “I am omega and there are two of them. I know it will be difficult for me to take care of them and I know I can do it if I make an effort… but if you accept them and want to raise them I also know they will have a more stable future than I can give them as omega. Besides, I must not cause my aunt any more trouble – her voice was choked.
Madox pursed her lips and stared at him for a moment.
-Until when are you going to do this to yourself, Julian?
He raised his head without knowing what she meant and blinked.
-When will you think of yourself, when will you put yourself first before everything else,” the alpha watched as he opened his lips and closed them again, “Birdie, there’s one thing I’ve realized over the last few months and I think you should be more selfish with yourself,” he said.
Julian looked away and pressed his lips together. He knew he was right, but it was a behavior he couldn’t change so easily. He was an omega, by nature they used to think of others first rather than himself and be submissive. That was why she liked Aidan so much. He was a totally strong and independent young man.
-Puppy, when you were with me you never told me of your feelings so as not to put me in a difficult situation, I know. Then you left so that my image wouldn’t be affected without worrying about what that jerk might have done to you. And now you don’t want to keep bothering your aunt and you think about your daughters’ safety before your desires-.
The omega swallowed dryly not knowing what to answer. Then he felt Madox’s arms embrace him and pull him against his chest. The alpha’s head rubbed against the crown of his head.
-Sometimes I wish you would be more honest and really tell me what’s inside you, what you think, what you want. I really want you to be happy,” she kissed his head, “This afternoon when you told me not to come back to your side, you know what I really felt,” she said.
Julian was very still, he didn’t hug him but he didn’t resist either. That was good.
-I felt that you were really telling me to keep insisting, not to give up on you- she pulled him tighter against him- I know I’ve made a lot of mistakes, but I really want to make it right with you. Make up for all my faults and be a partner and a father to be proud of, will you give me the chance?
After a few seconds Julian’s voice echoed against his chest.
-My aunt asked me which I should follow. Should I follow my head or my heart?
-And what does each of them tell you? he wanted to know.
-My head says you’re going to make me suffer. All alphas make me suffer,” Madox’s chest tightened when he heard that, after all, he had also contributed to that thought, “But my heart says I must not let you go. If I do, I’ll be making a huge mistake.
Madox kissed his temple.
-If you are here, it means you followed your heart. I thank you,” he smiled slightly, “Now I just have to teach your head that your heart is not wrong.
There was a few seconds of silence again.
-One year.
Madox didn’t understand and separated him a little to look at his face without letting go.
-If in one year you keep your word and have not deceived me, I promise I will give you the back of my neck to make your mark, and the rest of my life,” there was decision in his voice.
A gleam appeared in the alpha’s eyes and he smiled, pressing his forehead to the omega’s.
-If it’s only a year, I don’t think it will be that hard. The detox stage is over,” he laughed, unable to contain himself. There was happiness blooming inside his chest after all his little bird had promised him it would be his. Now he just needed to show off like the good alpha he was, forgetting his past life.
Could love change his libertine behavior? Well, apparently it could.
-Sir,” a voice sounded behind him and he looked over his shoulder, “Your flight needs to go out.
Madox nodded more calmly this time and turned to look at the omega in his arms.
-Shall we go?” she couldn’t deny she was nervous about him at the last minute pulling back, but to her surprise she nodded and he smiled.
And before anything else she let go of him and grabbing his hand with one hand she turned around straight to the door that led him to his future.
I still couldn’t believe it.
Madox had his puppy next to him resting with his eyes closed. He had not let go of her hand having intertwined their fingers lovingly.
He was excited, nervous, anxious. He didn’t know what was in store for him but whatever it was it really would be something to keep him well entertained. After all Julian had always been challenging. He never knew how to please him completely.
The women he used to sleep with used to ask him for expensive things, fancy dinners, over the top gifts and he kind of didn’t care, he didn’t have to think much about it either, it was always the same for all of them. But with Julian he had to remember even his favorite flavors and it was only when he left that he realized it.
She kissed the omega’s temple beside her and he slowly opened his eyes. They were almost there but they still had half an hour to go.
-Did I wake you?
He shook his head and craned his neck.
-I haven’t had much rest after leaving the hospital so I’m just tired,” his eyes closed as if his eyelids were heavy.
The alpha gently placed her hand on his other cheek and drew his head against her shoulder to lay him back and rest. She knew that pregnancy in omegas was complicated from the start and he was just out of the hospital. As soon as they arrived she would take him in for a checkup to make sure everything was perfect.
At least now his patients were in good hands so he would have some free time, but already planning that he had someone to take care of he had to sit down and review his schedule. She had to delegate work. She had to get home early to prepare nutritious meals.
She was already mentally making the mental list of everything she needed to do to keep Julian comfortable and taken care of. He and his daughters deserved everything he could give them.
-My little bird,” she called to him.
He opened his eyes slightly against her shoulder. He looked relaxed.
-Are we there yet?
Madox smiled.
-Not yet, love. I just wanted to ask you a question.
He settled more against him and made a sound with his throat in affirmation.
-How did you escape from the ship when everyone thought you were dead?
Julian knew this question would come at any moment and began to remember that eventful day.
