I'm Not Yours, Alpha
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 61

Julian entered his apartment and as soon as he closed the door he stuck his back against it. He shifted until he was on the floor with his eyes on his suitcase in front of his eyes. He couldn’t stop new silent tears from spilling from his eyes.

It wasn’t many seconds before she took a deep breath silencing the sobs and wiped her cheeks. Crying didn’t solve any of the problems, it didn’t even minimize them.

She heard the cell phone vibrate in her purse and for a moment she went to grab it quickly, as always happened when it was usually Madox, but nope. She remembered, for she didn’t know what time, what had happened at the hotel. Her throbbing wrist was a constant reminder of her madness.

Pressing her lips together she reached for the phone and noticed that number was on the screen. From seeing it so much she already knew it by heart even though she didn’t want to. She hadn’t even registered it, but this time, it wasn’t as if she could ignore it.

She picked it up but did not speak. That male voice was heard on the other end.

-Hi honey,” he sounded really happy, “I’m glad you finally got back to me. I’m sorry I had to use your boss’s cell phone to contact you, but you were ignoring me. I got anxious. You know how I am.

-I don’t know, Nolan,” he spoke deadly serious, “You never usually show your true face.

A long silence before the alpha spoke again.

-You know you shouldn’t have run from me like you did, you’re my fated one and you know I’m not wrong. Or are you going to dismiss our times in the past when we were teenagers so easily. We had good times and the s*x was great-

Julian didn’t speak. Some of his memories were coming back but there were still some gaps to fill in, although what he was interested in was in his head. He had struggled to open that part of his mind and let out the memories he had sealed away. The scar had always been an excuse and he had his reasons for it.

-Well dear, unlike you who was on vacation I have work and no time for you. I’m going on a business trip for at least half a month. In that time get everything ready and pack up. When you come back we will return to my house and I don’t want any excuses. I’ve already talked to your boss to give you full pay for the month, you don’t have to go anymore after that- -But it’s my job- he said.

-But it’s my job.” He opened his eyes even wider.

-Not anymore honey, you are an omega, my omega, your job is to take care of me as an alpha, like before. Yes precious? And don’t talk back to me, I don’t want to argue with you, I’m in a very good mood. See you,” and he hung up.

Julian kept the cell phone glued to his ear ringing after the communication was cut off and had the impulse to throw it but restrained himself. He shouldn’t be so impulsive again.

He pressed the device to his chest and buried his head in his knees trying to regulate his breathing. He was going crazy.

He didn’t want to stop working, he loved his craft more than he always said he did. He didn’t want to leave this apartment where his things were, things he had bought little by little and with Madox’s help.

Madox. He didn’t want to leave her side either.

But this time it was not something he could avoid. Nolan was his destined one and he was his omega, an omega with a weak constitution who knew he could not refuse his commands. The fate of alphas and omegas was written, they were both a blessing and a curse.

Julian finished putting away in the closet the last garment he had finished washing and stared at the closet. Maybe this was the last time he would be able to put his clothes away at will.

He had fleeting memories of when he lived in the colonial mansion with Nolan. It was a huge room, some parts fuzzy, but the essentials were carved out in her mind. The huge bed most of the time watered given its use.

The dresser where he had to do wonders to tame his hair that Nolan liked straight, quite the opposite, to how it really was, and as a result ended up almost a mess. And finally the huge walk-in closet where his clothes were mainly bought by the alpha, which decided what he had to wear and which was organized by the maid.

He couldn’t remember if he had ever had the opportunity to pick out his own clothes.

His cell phone rang and he grabbed it off the top of the bed. It was Aidan. He quickly answered.

-Tell me,” his voice came out more snubby than he intended.

-How are you?” Aidan sounded really worried instead, “You haven’t been going to work and the landlady wouldn’t tell me what happened to you.

Julian plopped down on the bed with a weak smile. He trusted Aidan but he didn’t want to get him or his alpha in trouble and that’s what he would do if he told him about Nolan’s plans with him.

-I gave up- he said calmly as if it was something natural- But don’t worry, it’s because I’m going to a much better place, when I start there I’ll be glad to take care of you- he lied completely.

But Aidan didn’t believe her and his silence was proof of it.

-Hey, I know I don’t have the right to ask but… how is he? How is he?” Julian almost mumbled.

-Madox?” Aidan sighed on the other side, “He’s taking him.

-Don’t lie to me Aidan. I’m the cause of all this, I don’t want to be in a simple corner anymore- -I don’t want to be in a simple corner- -I’m the cause of all this.

She heard him swallow dryly as he spoke again.

-Good for some people, bad for Dominic’s opinion who is having to scold him every five minutes. He’s become like a savage.

Julian closed his eyes and squeezed them shut. He never imagined Madox would react like this. He had expected that like everyone he interacted with he would just say bye bye and it was all over but nope. Madox had taken it to another level and that made the pang of conscience even greater.

-Thank you Aidan,” he said with a weak smile, “I’m sure you’ll get over it quickly. I’m not that important in his life.

-What do you say Julian? Dominic himself told me he’s never seen him in that state, and he knows him well. He’s worried.

-Aidan- Julian’s tone told him not to go on with the subject- He’ll forget me soon, I’m sure- sure, he would be leaving soon and they wouldn’t cross paths accidentally anymore- I’m sorry but I have to leave you, I’m a bit busy and I don’t have much time today- he softened his tone and hung up before Aidan said anything else.

If he left with Nolan he would have to cut all ties with everyone he knew, that included his friend. As much as it hurt.

He took a deep breath and dropped the phone on the bed turning it off as a pulse pounded in his chest. He frowned. Perhaps he had already arrived.

He got up barefoot and walked to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator looking for his pills finding that they were gone, rather the bottle of inhibitors he took during heat was empty, and quite old. Madox used to take care of everything during her heat so it wasn’t a concern.

Big mistake.

She looked in her purse, on top of the table to find that there wasn’t any there either. So now what did she do?

Madox had told her to stop by his office for her last medications, but from the moment she broke up with him she knew she wouldn’t be attending. Now she was in serious trouble. His zeal had not, because it had been regulated, ceased to be strong.

He would be alone in his room for three days, that was terrible. Before he had been used to staying alone and recovering as best he could afterwards, but he could hardly remember how. Madox was present in every cycle after he found him.

He had to go back to the room and call Aidan at least. He didn’t want to cause him trouble but in the current state of his body it wasn’t a good idea not to take care of him. But he couldn’t execute his plan. The reason, she could barely make it across the dining room.

His body staggered falling heavily on the floor and again, his consciousness turned red. Zeal had attacked him and he was no longer aware of what was going on around him.

Madox was sure it was not sensible what he was doing. Standing in front of the door of the apartment he had bought from Julian? He had to be completely insane.

Rather, crazy was the delicious aroma that was wafting from the crack under the door. Did he…

He reached for the key to the door he still kept on the same ring as his own and it wasn’t long before he opened the door to find a thick haze of rutting pheromones and a body lying on the floor almost unconscious.
