Chapter 980 Have You Been Too Tired Recently?

That night, Huston and Evelyn had dinner in the hotel's revolving restaurant. Evelyn feared he would feel uncomfortable, so she did not mention shopping again. That night, when they went to bed, Huston hugged her very tightly as if he wanted to embed her into his body.

The next morning, Evelyn woke up before eight o'clock. Huston beside her was still asleep. Seeing that his shoulder was exposed, she reached out and pulled up the quilt for him.

Huston was suddenly woken up and grabbed her hand.

Evelyn was startled by him and looked at him inexplicably. "Did I disturb you?"

When Huston saw that it was her, his tense mind relaxed, and he had not dared to sleep soundly last night for fear that something unexpected would happen in the middle of the night. The high tension had led to this kind of conditioned reflex.

His eyes were bloodshot as he pulled her back into his embrace. "Sleep a little longer."

Evelyn felt sorry for him, knowing how busy he was with work. Since he rarely had a chance to sleep in, she let him continue sleeping. She wasn't feeling sleepy herself and took out her phone to look at the design plans for the wedding venue.

She had chosen two main colors, yellow and blue, for the wedding. The entire venue was adorned with vibrant shades of yellow and blue, complementing each other. Blue was her favorite color, while yellow was Lucas's favorite. She had initially worried that they wouldn't match well, but seeing it now, it looked fresh and eye-catching.

While Evelyn was engrossed in looking at the designs, her phone suddenly alerted her to a new email. She casually opened it and glanced at it. It was from a foreign man named Oden, and the content was simple. Their company's review approved her previous quotation, and they wanted to establish a long-term collaboration. They wanted to meet in person to discuss further details.

Evelyn was a little surprised. She didn't expect it to go so smoothly. She replied to the email, expressing her willingness to meet for a discussion as soon as she returned from her business trip the next day. Perhaps because she was so engrossed in reading, Huston couldn't help but take a glance as well. His gaze skimmed over that seemingly ordinary email. "Since when do you have a foreign client?" he asked. Hearing his question, Evelyn was stunned. "It's someone who visited my store before. Their company is in need of procurement, and they found my store to be more suitable," she explained.

"Procurement?"

"Yeah, I told you before that the store also takes such supply orders," Evelyn said, looking at him as he relaxed his furrowed brow, only to furrow it again. Unable to help herself, she asked, "Huston, have you been too tired lately?"

It was the first time in a long time that she had seen such a sensitive Huston.

Hearing this, Huston frowned. It wasn't that he didn't want to tell her the truth, but that he was afraid it wouldn't be useful. On the contrary, it would make her even more uneasy.

He sat up and no longer felt sleepy. "Maybe I'm too busy."

Looking at the obvious dark circles under his eyes, Evelyn felt sorry for him. "I heard there is a famous spa here. We can go there and relax," she suggested.

Last night, Huston applied for protective custody, so going out today shouldn't be a problem.

Huston nodded in agreement, but his thoughts were unrelated to relaxation. He believed that indoor venues were generally safer than outdoor ones, and he thought it would be better to have a private room. Little did he know that this decision would become his biggest regret.
