Chapter 632 Watching The Idols Worrying About Money

Tobias did not respond. Afraid that Claudia would come outside, Skylar hurriedly got into the car as if she was racing against time.

She was worried that it would ruin Claudia's mood if the latter saw her. Knowing her place well enough, she avoided any possible conflicts instead of trying to pitch in.

By now, she knew she had a unique physique-she was never well-loved by the elders.

With Skylar around, Tobias would only occupy the driver's seat and seldom the passenger's seat. In the car, they were sitting so close to each other that she could smell the white sandalwood scent on him, which was so alluring as usual.

Several times, she wanted to ask if his cologne was an aphrodisiac.

Bright mornings were usually the most energetic time of the day. Nevertheless, Tobias hardly spoke a word, almost as if he was overwhelmed by fatigue. That had inevitably affected Skylar, and hence they both stayed quiet for the entire ride.

The viaduct on the navigator had turned red with the morning peak hours.

There was still a distance between International Garden and the Ford residence. The car radio broadcast that it was half-past eight in the morning.

Tobias broke the silence. "What time did you wake up that you could come over so early?"

Skylar did not check the time before she left the house. All she knew was that it was almost winter, and hence it felt freezing cold in the early morning.

What she feared most was waking up early during winter. During school days, she would usually be late especially in winter since she had problems parting with her warm and cuddly blanket.

After mulling it over, she said, "I don't remember what time it was. I ran here while I was doing my morning jog."

Skylar could barely be bothered to work on coming up with better excuses as she was too busy giving perfunctory answers to Tobias' questions.

He reached out for the nicely folded blanket and draped it over the thinly dressed Skylar.

Tobias could not understand why a young lady like her would choose not to check the weather forecast. He felt the cold just by the mere sight of her dressing.

Despite the weather, she only had a checkered shirt on her, with a see-through sleeveless tank top on the inside. She had a slender figure and perfect body proportions.

Tobias did not like how skinny Skylar was. Every time he pressed his body against hers as he thrust her, her protruding hipbones would leave him grimacing in pain. Soon, they arrived outside Skylar's workplace. As Pete was around, she did not do anything intimate with Tobias.

After getting out of the car, Skylar only took a few steps before she turned back and knocked on the car window.

Tobias wound down the car window. He already had his sleeves rolled up to his elbow, revealing the chiseled muscles on his arms that outlined the vigor of a man. "Where did you go last night?" Skylar finally popped the question.

Figuring that she had probably heard rumors, Tobias clarified, "I was drinking with my brother, and I gave a girl a ride back since we're going the same direction." Judging how honest he was and how the passers-by were throwing their gazes toward her, Skylar could only hastily wave goodbye to him.

Before she reached upstairs, she sent a WhatsApp message to Tobias.

"Did you not spend some time at her house after sending her home?"

Tobias: "Are you hoping that I'll do that?"

Skylar: "You should know my answer."

Tobias: "I'll only do that with you. I'm not interested in other women."

Flustered, Skylar quickly put away her phone, pretending to look like nothing had happened. She then pressed the lift button and headed upstairs to look for Kate.

The latter passed Skylar the reality show contract and said, "This is a super popular show. The director has specifically asked for you to join the show. However, you've to keep in mind that the guests are hard to get along with. You've got to get a handle on it. After all, there are bound to be problems when women get together."

The contract in Skylar's hand was for the second season of Always With You. The first season had garnered tremendously high ratings—not only did it top the list of programs the tv aired, but it also broke a billion viewership on the internet.

Despite nothing new with the content, but old wine in a new bottle, viewers loved watching their favorite idols worrying about money as a way to lighten themselves from their arduous and stressful life.
