Skylar simply hugged his neck in silence.

The next morning, she awoke in Tobias' arms after being jolted up by a vibrating phone. After opening her eyes, she closed them back in a daze, unwilling to wake up. As for Tobias, he felt for the phone and realized that it was only six in the morning.

His raspy voice still carried a tinge of exhaustion.

"Skylar, when are you coming over to the set? We are filming the last scene today, and I told you to come over here at five-thirty. What are you doing?"

"She's still sleeping." Tobias glanced at the sleeping Skylar. "Is it necessary to yell at her? Next time, you should be more polite when speaking to my girl."

Suddenly, Skylar became fully awake and noticed that Tobias was holding her phone. The pink phone cover and his chiseled features were just jarring opposites.

Not wearing anything, she pulled up her blanket to cover herself and took the phone from his hand.

When Skylar answered her call, Tobias didn't interrupt. Instead, he leaned down to pick up the pieces of tissue on the floor and binned them before tying the garbage bag up.

Recalling the look in Madelyn's eyes when she cleaned the room made him feel especially awkward.

Meanwhile, after hearing Kate's warm and friendly voice, Skylar apologized for having overslept and promised to head over at once.

Kate's tone was gentle. "Don't rush. You can come over after breakfast. Please tell Mr. Ford not to misunderstand. I spoke in a harsh tone earlier because I was anxious that you would be late." Skylar simply grunted in acknowledgment.

Initially, Kate had assumed that Tobias and Skylar had broken up, as there were no indications that they were still together.

After ending the call, she heaved a sigh of relief and reminded herself to watch her tone when speaking to Skylar. Having been admonished by Tobias first thing in the morning, she was now cognizant of how protective the former was over Skylar.

At the same time, Amelia walked in from the next room with a grim expression. She looked extremely pale as if she hadn't slept for days.

Kate stared coldly at her. "Are you done with Mr. Broad? You chose this path, so there's no one else to blame. Besides, it's too late for regrets."

Thinking back to the old man with wrinkled skin last night, Amelia was so disgusted that she felt her stomach churn. In fact, she felt as if she was going to have nightmares every night. Standing by the bed, she closed her eyes and forced herself to forget what happened the night before. "Now, rumors of us being together are spreading like wildfire."

Kate snorted, "I'm not interested in women, so I don't care about their suspicions. Besides, I value profit over reputation. Previously, didn't I warn you that you will regret trying to achieve your goal through unscrupulous means?"

Filled with remorse, Amelia resigned herself to walking a path where there was no turning back. For the sake of success and competing with Skylar over resources, she had asked Kate to find her a sugar daddy.

In fact, she had assumed that she would be just as lucky as Skylar. Even if she couldn't snag someone as dashing and insanely wealthy as Tobias, she had hoped that she wouldn't do too badly.
