Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1690
As she lay in the bed, her head spun again.
She closed her eyes and willed herself to sleep.
After a while, her eyelids became heavy as the drowsiness kicked in.
Just then, the door to her bedroom was pushed open from the outside.
Rachel frowned, seemingly disturbed by the creaking.
She grabbed the blanket and lay on her side, letting sleep overtake her whole body.
Holding the doorknob, Alberto glanced inside and saw Rachel asleep in the bed.
He hesitated, but his worry overtook him, so he walked in.
As quietly as he could, he leaned over from the side of the bed and put his hand on her forehead.
Feeling the cold touch, Rachel stirred lightly.
Strangely, the coldness made her feel at ease.
With eyes closed, she held Alberto’s wrist to keep his hand in place.

A frown formed on Alberto’s face.
It had been about an hour since Rachel took the antipyretics, but instead of her fever cooling down, it seemed to have gotten higher.
His expression hardened.
He fished out his phone and texted Dewey.
At this time, Dewey was in Trevinia to report Alberto’s condition to his brother and Harold.
His nose suddenly itched, making him sneeze at the same time his phone buzzed.
It was a message from Alberto that read, “Are these antipyretics you bought expired?”
Dewey’s brows knitted as he suddenly felt his integrity as an employee had been wrongly attacked.
He had never made a mistake in buying things, especially Alberto’s medicine.
He always took his time to select each item carefully.
If he accidentally bought the wrong item, it would never be an expired one.
Dewey was about to head back and see what was going on when he remembered some details about the medicine and replied to Alberto, “Why do you ask, sir? Are you not feeling well? Do you have a fever?
The antipyretics I bought there are prescribed by your doctor, and they aren’t expired.”
“It’s not me who’s sick,” Alberto replied.
Dewey didn’t even have to guess who needed the medicine.
Suddenly, he was reminded of how sickly Rachel looked this morning.
She even slept during the whole ride to the villa.
Dewey couldn’t help feeling guilty.
He should have insisted on having her checked the first time he saw her looking unwell.
Recalling what the doctor had said about the prescription, he quickly typed a reply.
Alberto’s eyes softened when Rachel held his hand, but he could feel her temperature in her palm.
She was getting hotter.
If her fever didn’t subside, it would not be good for her.
Dewey’s reply came, and it read, “One more thing, sir.
Given your condition, your doctor refrained from prescribing you medicine with a strong dosage.
The antipyretics are mild and take effect slowly.”
No wonder Rachel’s fever hadn’t come down yet.
