Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1689
Before Alberto could respond, Rachel turned around and headed to the kitchen, leaving him with lips slightly parted.
Alberto shifted his wheelchair to watch her cook in the kitchen.
The more he saw her in that light, the softer his gaze became.
The ingredients were more than enough for one serving, so Rachel ended up making two bowls of noodles.
“Lunch is ready, Mr.
Gibson.”
Within seconds, Alberto wheeled himself into the dining room.
Rachel sat down, grabbing the fork.
She was about to taste the noodles when her nose itched, making her sneeze.
Her head got foggier after that, and her nose slightly red.
Alberto’s brow knitted with concern.
“Did you catch a cold?”
Rachel had been coming down with a cold since this morning, but she thought it would eventually go away.
But the lightness of her head now said otherwise.
“It’s fine.
I’ll feel better after taking some water,” she said, rubbing her temples.
Alberto’s expression hardened under the mask.
Rachel lowered her head, pressing her lips together at the pain, which had completely spoiled her appetite.
She was about to excuse herself and tell Alberto she would go upstairs to rest when she felt his cold palm on her forehead.
Taken aback, she slowly looked up and met his gaze, his face only a few inches from hers.

“You have a fever,” Alberto said, quickly withdrawing his hand.
Rachel pressed her palm on her forehead to check her temperature but didn’t feel anything different.
She knew she was coming down with a fever and assumed it would go away after a good sleep, but she was mistaken.
Still, she didn’t want to burden Alberto, so she said, “I’m fine.”
Alberto looked at her sternly before wheeling the wheelchair into the kitchen.
He returned with a glass of warm water and handed it to her.
“Here.
Drink some.”
Rachel wanted to refuse, but when she saw the scar on the inner side of Alberto’s wrist, the words got stuck in her mouth.
She took the glass and muttered stiffly, “Thank you.”
“Dewey has some medicine stored in the living room.
I’ll get it for you.
Take one after you eat before you go upstairs to rest,” Alberto said, his tone riddled with authority that left Rachel no chance to refuse.
After having a few bites of noodles and taking a tablet of antipyretics, Rachel felt a little better and told Alberto she’d retire to her room to rest.
