Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1650
The call was ended.
Staring blankly at her phone screen, Rachel was still processing Alberto’s words when a new message popped up.
It was a message from the same phone number.
It contained an address.
It was the location of the Gibson family’s home.
Looking at the address, Rachel pondered Alberto’s words.
Was he asking her to come over to the place right now?
Fifteen minutes later, Lila was taking the soup out of the kitchen.
Just as she set it down, she noticed Rachel, now dressed to go out and descending the stairs with her bag.
“Miss Bennet, are you heading out?” Stepping out of the dining room, Lila called out to her.
“Yes, I’ve got some matters to handle.” Rachel apologized while heading to the shoe cabinet to change her shoes.
“I’m sorry, Lila.
You didn’t need to bother preparing dinner.
You’ve caught a cold; you should rest.
Feel free to have the food if you’re hungry.
Don’t worry about cleaning up if there are leftovers.
Just leave it as it is.
I’ll take care of it later.”
Lila Looked outside at the dark sky and falling snow, expressing her concern.
“Miss Bennet, where are you rushing off to in such snowy weather?”
“To the Gibson family’s house.”
Lila appeared taken aback for a moment.
Even though she wasn’t well- versed in high society’s nuances, her grocery shopping conversations with other domestic help had provided some insights.
Besides the prominent Sullivan and Jimenez families, there existed another influential and deep-rooted family, the Gibson family.
She knew that the entire Gibson family had migrated away quite a while ago.
However, she was well aware of the reputation and grandeur of the Gibson family mansion from her friends in the same profession.
So when she learned about Rachel’s visit to the Gibson family’s house, she was initially surprised but quickly regained her composure.
Observing Rachel’s serious expression, she understood that it must be something significant.
Without prying further, Lila promptly fetched Rachel’s coat from the clothes stand.
“Please take care on the road.
The snow has made conditions slippery.
Drive safely,” Lila advised.
“And please wear your coat.
You wouldn’t want to catch a cold.”
