“Not careful enough? Haven’t I repeatedly stressed the significance of this auction today? How many important guests are here? Why aren’t you taking my words to heart? How could you casually allow someone to enter? It’s fortunate that we noticed him in time.

If he attended the auction and something went wrong, how would we explain ourselves?”

“I’m sorry.

I… I’ll handle it immediately.”

“Never mind, I’ll deal with it.

I don’t want any more issues.” The lobby manager took a deep breath to compose himself, adjusted his tie, and approached Alberto.

However, after taking just two steps forward, he noticed an elderly man with a bent back and a smile on his face, walking to Alberto using a cane for support.

The manager immediately recognized the old man as Edmond Stanley, the auction’s sponsor.

He was taken aback.

Before he could react, he observed Edmond affectionately pat the shoulder of the man seated in the wheelchair, his eyebrows arching in delight.

The elegant man trailing behind the elderly gentleman, dressed in a tunic and trousers, was also greeting the person in the wheelchair with a respectful smile.

The lobby manager stopped, his heart pounding rapidly.

His colleague also observed the scene and approached the manager.

“It seems to be Edmond Stanley and his eldest son.”

The lobby manager shot a glance at his colleague and rolled his eyes as if to say he was already aware.

What astonished him was the manner in which Edmond and his son interacted with the man in the wheelchair.

Edmond rarely engaged so warmly with rich people.

Clearly, the man in the wheelchair was no ordinary individual.

The lobby manager covered his chest and felt it was lucky.

Fortunately, he hadn’t driven him away yet.

Had he driven the man away and offended him, he would have found himself in serious trouble.

“Your father has spoken highly of you and your Level-headedness.

Now that I’ve met you in person, I see he was right,” Edmond said, patting Alberto’s shoulder.

Alberto gazed at the smiling elderly man before him, his hair was gray and his face was lined with wrinkles.

Gently, he said, “Master.”

Edmond paused, and he was a little surprised at the way Alberto called him.

In fact, the title wasn’t unfamiliar to him.

Having been a teacher his entire life, he was accustomed to being called Master.

What startled him was that Alberto called him Master despite never having been his student.

“My father was your student when he was young.

He couldn’t attend this auction due to other commitments and regrets not being able to see you this time.

He feels remorseful, so I address you as Master on his behalf.

I hope you won’t hold it against me.” Alberto’s voice was even, devoid of any discernible emotion.

“Ah, I understand.

Why would I hold it against you? You are quite considerate.

Your father should be proud to have a son like you.”

Edmond smiled.

“It’s getting late.

We shouldn’t keep the others waiting.

Let’s head inside.”

Upon hearing this, the lobby manager nearby immediately stepped forward and volunteered to lead the way.

“Sir, please allow me to guide you.”
