Eva looked at her watch and said, “I have to send my child to the drawing class this afternoon.

Miss Bennet, how about I drive you home?”

After giving it some thought, Rachel nodded.

Eva went back to her office to get her coat.

Meanwhile, Rachel messaged Andy, telling him not to come to pick her up.

They then left Gardenia together.

Eva’s car was a tiny two-seater that wasn’t very big.

However, as soon as Rachel sat down, she felt at ease.

On the seats were lovely cushions, and on the console was an ornament featuring two people riding a bicycle.

They were replicas of Eva and her husband.

The heads of the ornament shook as soon as the car started, which was adorable and hilarious.

Rachel gave the location of her house to Eva.

Eva carefully accelerated out of the small yard and onto the asphalted road.

Rachel remained silent for a moment as she gazed at the ornament.

When the car stopped in front of the red light, she asked, “Don’t you despise them?”

Eva kept her hands on the wheel.

Hearing this, she turned to face

Rachel, but she quickly shifted her attention back to the road.

“I despised them so much that I didn’t want to see them at all,” Eva said.

Rachel moved her lips as she cocked her head to look at Eva.

She had so many questions.

She wanted to ask Eva why she married her husband and was willing to live with them, But she wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to keep asking.

Perhaps she was scared.

She was scared to hear Eva’s response.

“But hatred is not everything we have in life.” The lights turned green.

Eva pressed the gas pedal and sped up the car.

“At first, I didn’t want to have any contact with him.

But after I collected myself, I saw him arguing with his parents.

He was pleading for our forgiveness, and this made my heart soften.

Love has the power to end conflicts.

Hatred won’t get us anywhere.

I began to listen to his explanation and get to know the whole story.

That evening, they did argue with my grandma, but they didn’t say anything particularly harsh.

They also left my grandma with a bottle of warm water so she could stay warm.

Her hypertension was caused by a sudden change in the weather.

She also felt anxious consistently.

We could blame them, but they weren’t the root cause of it

Eva took a brief moment to reflect.

“I could hate them, but did I really hate them that much? Did I despise him and his parents, or did I despise myself for being incompetent? I felt bad for letting my grandma sit there rather than forcing her to leave.”

When Rachel looked at Eva, she was at a loss for words.

“Did you despise him, or did you despise yourself for being incompetent?”

Rachel couldn’t get Eva’s words out of her mind as she got back home.

She sat on the edge of the bed and looked down at the praying pendant in her hand.

She closed her eyes in pain, and suddenly a figure appeared in front of her eyes.

“Abby?”

The beautiful figure turned to look at Rachel with a smile.

Her eyebrows and eyes were curved into crescents.

She opened her mouth and called, “Miss Bennet.”

Just then, a knock on the door interrupted Rachel’s thoughts.
