Chloe's POV:

"What are you doing here?" I hissed, shooting him a glare.

"Nice seeing you too, it been a while since we last saw, has it not?

I growled lowly, muttering a string of profanities under my breath. "We just repaired the barrier, you cannot just waltz in here whenever you like and think that there will be no penalty, I will not permit that!"

He gave me a pointed look, his eyes boring deep I to my soul. "When was I ever one to get permission before I did something?" He asked, a mocking smile etched on his face. "I do whatever I want and however I see fit, it's high time you got used to that...," he paused before adding: "because you will be seeing more of me!"

I scoffed, crossing my hands over my chest. "For a coven master, you really are a pathetic one, you know?" I saw him flinch at my insult, and how victorious I felt. "You can't seem to accept the fact that I have rejected your throne and your kind, it's a big bruise on your ego, is it not?"

A tight muscle in his cheek twitched, as he glared coldly at me, his nose flaring wider with every heavy breath he took. "What I think is, you should learn how to make proper use of thyt loose tongue of yours," he snapped. "How dare you disrespect me in such a belittling manner?!"

I sighed, not trying to conceal my amusement in any way. "If you feel so disrespected, then; leave my house! Why do you keep come by back here?! Can you not give me some breathing space?!"

"I can't do that, neither do I wish to." He replied colly, like he had not been hissing at me a few minutes back. "You know what I want fromyou-"

"And how many times do I have to tell you that I am not interested in inheriting whatever it is that you want me to?!"

" -give what I want and I will be gone forever!" He ventured like I had not just rebuked him.

I scoffed, fighting the urge to slap a palm against my face. "You do not listen, do you?"

"Do you?" he asked. He must have noticed the confused frown that grew on my face. "Do you listen, yourself? It's a trait we have in common and no matter how you try to run away from who you are, it still comes right back and rubs you in the face." He sighed, rising to his feet. "I only came to check in and congratulate you on getting accepted by your people, I wish you the best of luck with keeping their trust," he added.

Before I could ask what he meant by what he said, he vanished. "Shit!" I muttered under my breath, feeling sad by the mere fact that my troublesome grandfather was not prepared to let me go, evening I had made it clear to him that I was not interested in his throne. He could pass it over to anyone he wanted, I doubt if I would even really care!

I got a whiff of his smell, before the door was pushed open and he came in. "What is it?" I asked impatiently, my back still turned to him. I waited for a few seconds and when he still would not speak, I turned around to face him, cocking one dark eyebrow in a silent question.

He leaned against the now closed door, his eyes boring into me. A dark look was casted over his face and he seemed to be struggling from indecision, as his lips parted and closed a couple of times.

I sighed, my curiosity piquing up. "Talk to me, what is it?" I asked, trying to keep the emotion out of my voice. I could sense my frustration building up, coupled with the fact that I had not been in a very good mood when he walked in through that door. "Will you talk to me or won't you?"

He heaved a sigh, finally taking his eyes away from mine, staring at the floor as he kept shifting on his feet. It's Cara," he whispered, but I had still heard him alright. "She had been having an affair with Alpha Edward all this while and had also been keeping tracks of yours and the Alpha's moves. She had given him the information to get you guys cornered earlier and she had also followed you until you got to the cave house and that was how everyone knew where to find you yesterday."

A headache had started to form due to what I had just heard. It seemed to be one problem to another and I was truly becoming exhausted! "So what now? What do you think should be done about her?"

"I think we should watch her some more..." he trailed off, hesitating for a while before venturing. "I do not think she can pull some really cool stunts like this on her own, there should be some sort of force helping her, she seems too bold," he explained.

I thought over it for a moment and I had to give it to him, he was right! A perpetual trouble maker like Cara could not be underrated so easily. She had to be the slyest wolf we had around here and I would love to take my time on smashing her into pieces, without the law holding me for any crime.

"I agree with you," I nodded my head at him, when n he raised a brow. "Go back to work and get me information solid enough to destroy her once and for all!"

He bowed, and left, closing the door behind him.

I slumped down into the chair, my hands immediately shot up to my head and I gently massaged my temples, groaning in pain. My legs felt sore and I suspected that it might have to do with the fact that I had been on my feet all day and had only sat for less than two hours. I leaned my back against the couch, my eyes fluttering shut on their own accord. I began to doze off and I did not try to fight it as the sleep enveloped me..." Dracula's cave:

Dracula walked in through the front door. His steps brisk and focused, as he made his way towards the throne room. Everyone rose as he entered, bowing low until he got on the throne, flipped back his cape and lowered himself on it. "Sit," he commanded.

They all sat, looking up at him expectantly.

"As you all already know," he started. "My grand daughter is to inherit my throne so that I can transcend to be with my ancestors. It has not been too easy to convince you all and I know that most of you still disagree with my decision, but I will not be changing it."

There was murmuring amongst them and Dracula sat back, with a displeased look on his face a his look down at them. They had no idea that he was aware of all the plots they had been making to assassinate him and Chloe. He also knew that the cabinet members were the very ones who let Vodos out, but pretended all along like he had no idea about what they were doing. He knew there was no much time left, he had to get Chloe on the throne before the got to her first and the lady in question, was as stubborn as a stray dog.

"Silence!" He finally commanded. "You have to stop fighting me for once and see what I am trying to do for this coven!"

"You are doing nothing," one member hissed, rising to his feet. "Everything you are doing is for your own selfish purposes! You want to be greater than most of your ancestors when you transcend, so do not make it look like your half breed granddaughter is the redeemer to us all!"

"You have two grandsons," another member rose, this time; it was a female. "Why don't you put the eldest one on the throne? Is that not the original way things are supposed to go?"

Dracula gripped unto the arm rest tightly, his already pale knuckles getting paler the tighter his squeezed it under his palm. "I have my reasons," he gritted out through clenched teeth. "And as long as I sit on this throne, no body is allowed to question my authority!"

"And what if that authority threatens our peace?"

He turned a cold look to the man who had spoken this time and without actually speaking, he brutally murdered the man with one hard glare. "Be careful about the accusations you make, I am not one to forgive so easily," he threatened. Everywhere went dead quiet again, no one dared g to speak as they feared that maybe they had pushed the Dracula too far this time. His eyes scanned the room, scrutinizing each and every one of them, like he was trying to see through their souls. He also went through their minds, seeing their rotten thoughts and he reminded himself that he had to act quickly before they got ahead of him. Chloe was not helping matters and after a while, he thought if it was time to expose his secret, one he had kept to himself for far too long!

Maybe, just maybe he might be able to change her mind...

Alpha Edwin's pack lands: His Beta rushed at him, pinning him down on a chair. "You can't just keep letting vampires in and out of her when you please, it is too dangerous!"

Edwin growled, his brown eyes turning a bright shade of holden orange. The veins in his neck stained, ass he hissed up at his Beta, Alfred. "How many times do I have to tell you? I do not know any vampires, talk more of letting them into my lands," he snapped angrily.

"Shut up," Alfred growled, lifting him off the chair and slamming his back hard into it. "We both know that is not true, you have been doing some shady things of late and it is a pity that you think no body knows what you are doing! The question is; what are you doing?"

He scoffed, shrugging out of Alfred's hold and pushed him backwards. "You seem to forget to know your place; Beta, do not let me give you a bloody reminder of who is in charge here!" He settled properly into his seat, the glare still remained on his face. "You are saying that you have been seeing a lot of things of late but decided to keep quiet?-"

Alfred did not reply, but kept glaring.

"-you made the right choice, man, you really did choose right because I would not have hesitated to get rid of you," he muttered, a wicked glint in his eyes.

"You dick," Alfred growled lowly. You are putting is all in trouble and when the consequences begin to come, do not say I did not warn you!" And with that, he stomped away and walked out of the room.

Edwin watched him as he walked away, grumbling to himself. He was acting high and mighty, but he also could not help but think about what his Beta had said. With every passing day, he was beginning to regret why he had agreed to help them get rid of Chloe, instead of doing so by himself. He was no longer even interested in getting my revenge on the wife because she terrified him, he wanted the head of Marcus!

He took the love of his life away from him and now, the woman he had started to grow to love, was fighting to take down his wife, so she could be with him! He wondered why Marcus would not stop troubling his life?!

Even if it cost him his life, he was determined to see to it that Marcus paid dearly for all he had put him through in the past...
