Alpha's Little Vampire Mate
31. Angelo's warning

Marcus's

POV:

Right above our heads, floated a familiar creature with piercing green eyes and a long black cape. It kept going in circles as it stared down at us, and it became difficult to follow his movements. My eyes began to tire, so I decided to blink and

just like that; he vanished!

Titus gasped, taking two steps back, While Mark and I remained standing where we stood. When it occurred to me that he'd disappeared again, I growled in annoyance and Mark scoffed, his expression also showing his displeasure.

"I can't believe he just did that again," I muttered, rubbing a palm down my face in frustration. "I'd need to have a long talk with him, he can't just sneak in and out of my land whenever he feels like it!" "Yeah," Mark nodded in agreement, then whipped around to take a look at Titus.

I turned to him too and he was still staring at the ceiling in a daze, the shocked expression on his face was as clear as broad daylight.

"Was... was that a... a?"

"Yes!"

Mark and I both replied, obviously getting tired of his incessant stuttering. I was getting more frustrated by my 'self acclaimed brother-in-law', what with all the hide and seek? "A vampire?!"

I groaned, completely fed up with Titus's dumb questions. "Didn't you see that he was floating?! Or are your old eyes only for seeing other people's women nakedness?" I snapped in a harsh tone.

He gave me a dirty look but didn't utter a word. We were all silent, each man far gone in his own thoughts, when Titus decided to break the silence. "Is he the one who warned you about the war?" "Yes..." Our heads quickly snapped to the direction of the door when we heard the voice again. "The one and only."

Immediately, he came out of thin air but this time; he wasn't floating. He walked towards us and if we hadn't seen him up in the ceiling a few minutes ago, we'd have thought he walked in through the door...

"What the hell?!" Titus growled, putting a defensive stance as the vampire approached us. I couldn't blame him for that... Vampires and werewolves have never been known to be the best of friends. Just as he got too close, Titus came in front of me, blocking him from getting to me. "Take one more step, monster and I'll rip out your cold heart," he hissed threateningly.

The vampire raised his hands in mock surrender (just like he'd done the first time we met), "I thought by now, I should be referred to as an acquaintance, shouldn't I?"

I sighed, patting Titus on the shoulder. He turned to look at me like I'd lost my mind. I gave him an encouraging nod, "don't worry, he can help us."

With disbelief still edged on his face, Titus slowly backed away, moving to stand beside me. Mark drew closer too, and I couldn't help rolling my eyes. Even after a hundred years, I still wasn't used to the whole 'Alpha thing' and how important they regarded me.

The vampire heaved a sigh of relief, but I could see the amusement swirling in his eyes. The corner of his lips was curved up like he was struggling to suppress a smile. "I come in peace, you all should be aware by now..." "Why did you leave?"

"Why did you come back?"

Mark and Titus both growled at him.

In all the drama, I stayed quiet, observing the vampire before me and watching out for any suspicious signs but none. I was getting more paranoid by the day and I had no information because he'd disappeared even before he could tell me what the problem was.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Angelo," he replied coolly. "You already know who I am, and I am sorry I left unannounced the other time... I wanted to give you some time with Chloe..."

I eyed him, but nothing came off false, he looked like he was telling the truth. "So...," I started. "What information do you have for me?"

He looked from me to Mark and then to Titus. "I have a lot of information, but I'd like to talk to you in private."

Mark groaned. "Not again," he muttered, cursing under his breath. "You already know I am going nowhere!"

Titus was a different story all together. He growled aggressively, pointing an accusing finger at Angelo. "And who do you think you are, to ask us to leave? Do you know whose presence you are in? You should fall on your knees and bow!" I held in my frustration, not wanting to yell at Titus because I knew he was only doing his job. It was going to be disrespectful to tell him off in front of Angelo.

Angelo, obviously wasn't as bothered by Titus's tantrums, as he wore a bored expression. "Gamma Titus," he muttered in a low tone. "I am not a very huge fan of yours, so you have to be careful in your dealings with me..."

Titus snorted, hitting his tongue against his teeth multiple times. "Pray tell Vamp, how exactly do you know me, and what is your problem with me?"

Angelo gave him a death glare, and I wondered how much his knew of Titus's relationship with his sister. "You drew a picture of my sister, naked! How do you expect me to react to that?!"

Titus paled. He blinked once, twice, then slowly turned towards me with a death glare. I gave him a deadlier one, my wolf already growling in jealousy. "I can't believe you told him that! How many more people have you..." He suddenly paused, his eyes widening as realization dawned on him. He looked from me and back to Angelo. Giving him a once over, he asked: "Chloe's brother?"

Angelo's jaw muscles ticked, as he glared dangerously at Titus. "The one and only," he growled.

I had to give it to Titus... even in the face of an angry, overprotective older brother, he stood like a man, not cowering an inch away from Angelo. Titus scoffed, shaking his head as he chuckled humorlessly.

"How is that even possible? I've seen Chloe's wolf, which means she's a werewolf. You... you are a vampire, how could you be her brother?"

Angelo gave a little snort. "I am her half brother, we share a mother."

"Oh," Titus bite his lower lip, amazement registered all over his face. "That means Chloe's a hybrid?"

"Took you a while to figure that out," Mark said.

Angelo spoke again. "Titus, I was the one who led you to her in the forest, remember?"

Led him to her?!

I quickly turned to Titus and he shook his head fast at me. "I thought I'd seen a vampire and I quickly chased it. But when I got to where I'd seen it stop, I saw Chloe on the floor. I was confused and suspicious, so I didn't want to jump into conclusion and tell you anything yet," Titus was out of breath by the time he was done explaining.

"I knew you'd protect her secret, that was why I made you follow me out there..."

Titus scoffed. "And I thought I'd followed her on my own," he paused, giving Angelo an unfriendly look. "You are one hell of a sly monster!

I gave him a once over, deciding to deal with him some other time. I returned my attention back to the vampire. "Angelo... We can talk with both of them present, as you might have noticed, both men also hold Chloe dear to heart and wouldn't want any harm coming to her."

As hard as that was to admit, I tried. It felt like I was going to choke on my own spit, by the time I was done talking.

Angelo kept throwing deadly glares at Titus, who was now as quiet as the word. He knew any mistakes and his head will be off his shoulders. "I appreciate all you have done for Chloe," he started to say, looking pointedly at Titus. "But, don't interfere in her relationship from now on." He paused, looking from Titus to Mark and back to Titus. "Am I understood?"

But men grunted, not liking the authoritative tone he used in addressing them, but none uttered a word. We all waited, I was most impatient as I waited for Angelo to speak.

"I'd like to meet with my sister."

Just when he finally opened his mouth to speak, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I eyed him seriously. "Not happening."

He laughed, like I'd just told the joke of the century. However, it was kind off sad that; he was the only one who found me funny. The other men were seriously glaring at him. "Not happening you say?" He asked. "You heard me loud and clear!"

He cocked his head, a wide grin plastered on his face. "Do you really think, that I need your permission to meet her? It's just because of the relationship I'm trying to build with you, that I accord you such respect." He paused, pretending to be thinking about something, then his eyes widened like he'd just recalled an important detail. "I could just teleport into your bedroo-"

"Don't you dare!" I took big steps towards him and before I could get too close, he vanished. I groaned, my anger building up like a volcano. "Show yourself, you coward, if you dare to challenge me, then face me like a real man!" "Ouch!"

I spun around, to see Titus on the floor with blood gushing out of his nose. I looked around frantically to see if I'd grab any movement but nothing. I nearly jumped out of my skin, when I felt a light pat on my back. Right behind me, stood a grinning Angelo.

"Did I scare you?" he asked, a chuckle rumbling out of his chest. He moved away slowly, then stopped some steps away. "For Alpha of the pack, you seem easily excited. How do I entrust my sister to you? How do I know for sure that you'd be able to take good care of her?"

Now, that provoked me. I screamed, charging towards him and just as you guessed; he vanished!

"Anger... you need to put that in control," his voice boom out of nowhere and then again: "Ouch!"

Another blow had been delivered to Titus's stomach and he was now clutching his stomach, groaning in pain or anger, I know not which. "Son of a bitch!" Titus yelled, waving a blow in the air as he looked around frantically.

"That's for harassing my sister," Angelo's voice came as a hiss this time. Then he became visible again, standing right in front of Titus who took a couple of frightened steps backwards. "We'll meet again, and I'll give you a proper beating then. In the meantime..."

He whipped around to face me. "... what is it you were saying about me not seeing Chloe again?"

I gave him a warning glare. "I am not joking with you. You're nothing but a stranger to Chloe, and I refuse to let you scare her!"

He heaved, a conflicted look falling over his face. "I have to see her," he whispered. "That's the only way we can help her. You saw what I just did?"

I nodded, flashing back to his little show off of invisibility.

"How can you fight against something you do not see?"

Well... I honestly didn't have an answer to that. At least not yet. "But still... I can't let you meet Chloe."

Angelo chuckled, nodding his head understandingly. "Alright then mate," he said, as he started to walk backwards with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "When you make up your mind, I'll tell you whatever you want to know. Deal?" "No deal!"

He shrugged nonchalantly. "Bye then!"

"Don't you dare vani-"

And he vanished again.

I waited for the sound of his voice or any evidence to show that he'd been in here with us, but none. "Fuck! To hell with you Angelo, to hell with you!" "What. Just. Fucking. Happened?!"

I turned to give Titus a glare, while Mark smacked him on the head. "It's what I was trying to tell you, we've got a grave war to plan...
