After the Eight Years of Love I Gave Up -
Chapter 75
Chapter 24
In the third year of my marriage to Darius, we had our daughter.
Shortly after our daughter was born, Cassius sent many expensive gifts.
I asked Darius for his opinion.
He remained confident, but was quite ungenerous.
"Our daughter doesn't lack these things. Let's donate them to a welfare center."
"Tsk, what's wrong with him? At his age, not getting married or taking a wife, always fixating on other people's wives and children. He's asking for trouble."
I couldn't help but smile, "Why bother about other people's business?"
Darius was inexplicably delighted by this.
In front of all the servants and nannies, he picked me up and spun me around.
"Everly, what you just said sounded so good. Can you say it again?"
"What did I say? Hey, put me down first, my head is spinning..."
But Darius wouldn't let go. He sat down with me in his arms, kissing me again and again: "Just now, that line about minding other people's business. What was it?"
I found it amusing, but also felt an indescribable heartache.
My best friend had once secretly told me.
The two years after I graduated from college were Darius's worst state.
But after we got together, he never mentioned it to me.
He never showed even a hint of negative emotion in front of me.
"Why bother about other people's business? What's most important is that we live our own life well."
After saying this as he wished, I put my arms around his neck.
I kissed his slightly red ear and whispered very softly, "Darling, our daughter is two months old now. If we go to bed early tonight, we might have time for something fun."
