Trap of the King Alpha Triplet
Chapter 39 A Lunar Wolf

Emily.

I crept through the dimly lit corridors of the Alpha King's manor, my heart pounding in my chest. The events of the night swirled in my mind like a tornado of confusion. I really need to find my mom and Alpha Christ. As I rounded a corner, I nearly collided with a suit of armor. I stifled a yelp, my nerves already frayed to the breaking point.

"Get it together, Emily," I muttered to myself. "You're a witch, for Moon's sake. A creepy suit of armor shouldn't freak you out."

But it wasn't just the armor. The entire manor seemed to be holding its breath, waiting for something to happen. The portraits on the walls seemed to follow me with their eyes, and every shadow looked like it might be hiding secrets. I was so lost in my thoughts that I almost missed the hushed voices coming from behind a partially open door. I froze, recognizing my mom's voice instantly.

"We can't keep her in the dark," she was saying, her tone uncharacteristically serious.

"I know, Olivia," Alpha Christ replied, sounding weary. "But you know the risks. If word gets out about her true nature..."

I leaned closer, my heart racing. Were they talking about me?

"But I have to protect my daughter." my mom insisted. "That wolf tonight, I am sure someone is searching for her. We can't ignore it any longer."

What?? My head was spinning. I needed answers, and I needed them now.

Taking a deep breath, I pushed open the door. "Mom? Alpha Christ? I think we need to talk."

They both whirled around, surprise and something that looked a lot like guilt flashing across their faces.

"Emily!" My mom exclaimed, recovering first. "Sweetie, what are you doing up? Are you feeling alright after your fainting spell?"

I crossed my arms, fixing them both with what I hoped was a stern look. "I'm fine. But I think you owe me some explanations. And what do you mean by my 'true nature'?"

Alpha Christ and my mom exchanged glances, having one of those silent adult conversations that never failed to irritate me.

"Perhaps we should sit down," Alpha Christ said finally, gesturing to a pair of plush armchairs by the fireplace. "This may take a while."

As we settled into the chairs, I couldn't help but feel like I was in some kind of supernatural principal's office. The fire crackled ominously, casting dancing shadows across the room.

"Emily," my mom began, her voice gentle. "There's something we are keeping from you. Something about your father, and about who - what - you really are."

I leaned forward, my heart pounding. "I'm listening."

Alpha Christ cleared his throat. "Your father wasn't just any werewolf, Emily. He was... special. A rare breed known as a Lunar Wolf. We can't be completely sure. But I think we may have found some evidence."

"A LUNAR WOLF???" I blinked, trying to process this new information. "Is that like... a werewolf on steroids or something?"

My mom chuckled despite the tension. "Not quite. Lunar Wolves are... well, they're sort of like werewolf royalty. They have a direct connection to the Moon Goddess herself."

"Okay," I said slowly. "So my dad was werewolf royalty. Cool, I guess? But he left us like ten years ago. What does that have to do with me?"

Alpha Christ leaned forward, his eyes intense. "Emily, that means you're not just a hybrid. We also just know about your father's things these days. He left for a reason, we guess. But one thing is for sure. You're the first-ever offspring of a Lunar Wolf and a witch. The power that combination holds... it's unprecedented."

I felt like I'd been sucker-punched. "So when that wolf called me 'moon's daughter'..."

"It wasn't just being poetic," my mom finished. "You are, quite literally, a daughter of the moon. And that comes with... responsibilities."

"Responsibilities?" I echoed weakly. "Like what? Monthly lunar bake sales?" Last night I was just a wolfless hybrid, but today I became the daughter of the moon. And should I mention my wolf is still silent? Alpha Christ's lips twitched, but he remained serious. "There is a prophecy, Emily. One that speaks of a child born of moon and magic, who will either unite the supernatural world... or tear it apart." Well, shit. That was a lot to take in. I felt like I was in some kind of YA novel, complete with a destiny I never asked for and powers I didn't understand. All I needed now was a love triangle and - Oh. Right. The triplets.

As if reading my mind, my mom reached out and took my hand. "I know this is a lot to process, sweetie. And I know you probably have a million questions. But there's something else you need to know." I braced myself. "What now? Am I secretly betrothed to some werewolf prince or something?"

The look my mom and Alpha Christ exchanged made my stomach drop. "Oh my god, I am, aren't I? Please tell me it's not Prince Alaric. He's cute and all, but talk about high maintenance." "No, no," my mom said quickly. "Nothing like that. It's about the triplets."

I felt my face heat up. "What about them?"

Alpha Christ cleared his throat, looking uncomfortable. "The bond you share with them... it's not a typical mate bond. It's something much rarer, much more powerful."

"You see, Emily," my mom explained, "Lunar Wolves don't just have one mate. They have three - to represent the three phases of the moon."

I blinked, trying to process this new bombshell. "So you're saying..."

"The triplets are your destined mates," Alpha Christ confirmed. "All three of them."

Well, I have to say this sounds not that bad.

I wanted to continue, about my silent wolf. I cannot find Eartha silent the drug thing.

Just then, a commotion outside the door caught our attention. Raised voices, the sound of running feet. Before any of us could react, the door burst open, revealing a disheveled and frantic-looking Garrett. "They're here," he panted, his eyes wild. "The Rogue Alliance. They've breached the wards."

Alpha Christ was on his feet in an instant, his entire demeanor shifting from concerned parent to powerful Alpha. "How many?"

"At least fifty," Garrett reported grimly. "Maybe more. And they've got... something with them. Something big."

As if on cue, a bone-shaking roar echoed through the night, making the windows rattle in their frames. It sounded like a T-Rex with a megaphone, if T-Rexes were real and really, really angry. "What the hell was that?" I yelped, jumping to my feet.

"Trouble," Alpha Christ growled. He turned to my mom. "Olivia, get Emily to safety. Use the secret passage behind the bookcase. I'll hold them off."

"Like hell," I protested. "I'm not running away while everyone else is in danger. I can help!"

"Emily," my mom started, but I cut her off.

"No, Mom. You just told me I'm some prophesied moon-witch hybrid with the power to change the world. Well, now's my chance to use that power for something good."

Before anyone could argue further, another roar shook the manor, closer this time. The sound of shattering glass and splintering wood echoed through the halls.

"Fine," Alpha Christ conceded, his eyes flashing alpha red. "But you stay close to me or your mother at all times. Understood?"

I nodded, my heart racing with a mixture of fear and exhilaration. "Understood."
