Lucas'

POV:

Eight down, one to go. And this is all over. imagined the excitement of finally reuniting with Cory, catching up with my friends, and exploring a peaceful kingdom. I strode purposefully towards Elisha, closing the distance between us. As soon as she caught sight of me, she began to slowly retreat, as if she knew what was coming...

"Surrender, Elisha.

"Ha! Why would I, wolf? You are mistaken if you believe ! cannot take you down!"

As she gestured with her hand, she whispered something under her breath. Suddenly, the earth beneath me began to tremble and shake. The ground trembles as the earth heaves and cracks, shards of glass shattering as the chaos unfolds. In the distance, creatures are running for their lives, desperately trying to escape the upheaval. As I tried to take a step, the ground beneath my feet began to crack and break apart, revealing a gaping hole beneath me. With lightning-fast reflexes, I leaped to the opposite side, narrowly escaping the powerful vortex that threatened to pull me under.

"Watch out!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, desperately trying to alert everyone of the imminent collapse of the building.

People scrambled to find cover and shield themselves from the falling debris. Unfortunately, not everyone managed to escape the scene in time and ended up being caught under the fallen walls of the buildings. As the boulders crashed, some brave souls jumped into action, pushing and pulling with all their might to free their trapped comrades. I looked around at the kingdom. It was a catastrophe. "Stop this now, Elisha!"

"The only way to save your precious kingdom is to render me lifeless!"

"Then, so it shall be."

"We'll see about that, Your Majesty!"

With lightning speed, I lunged forward, leaping through the gaping holes in the ground. The air crackled with energy as Elisha chanted ancient spells, her voice rising and falling in an otherworldly rhythm. Suddenly, flames erupted from the sky, raining down in a fiery cascade that illuminated the darkness. I darted left and right, my heart pounding with fear as blazing fireballs rained around me. I had a close brush with danger when a fiery ball grazed my shoulder.

But this didn't stop me from running towards her. I continued to rush forward to bring her down.

"Tss. So that's not stopping you, huh? Then how about this?!"

As I looked up, the sky had transformed into a canvas of swirling clouds, with dark shades taking over the horizon The whole land turned into a blazing inferno as the witch unleashed a ferocious tornado of fire that left nothing in its path but destruction. It was chaos in the whole kingdom.

There was no other creature to stop this phenomenon but me. I must end this as soon as possible before we are engulfed in the fires of hell.

She was within arm's reach. I opened my mouth to expose my fangs and bit her head off. However, an invisible shield covered her and threw me off. It's not going to be easy to attack her. But as desperation flowed through me, I tried to lunge forward again. I punched the bubble she was in over and over again.

"You'll turn into ashes before breaking this shield!"

"I will break your barrier. Whatever it takes. Then, I will rip your head off!" A thunderous growl was heard.

"Well, good luck with that!"

I unleashed a series of punches on the shield, but to my surprise, it remained completely unscathed. Not even a single scratch or dent. I could feel the bruises forming on my knuckles, and my arms were starting to ache, but I refused to give up. All of a sudden, a shiver ran down my spine, and a mysterious voice whispered: Use the amulet.

Hold it and punch your way through.

"Oh, that was quick, you tired, wolf?"

I couldn't afford to let her words distract me. With all my might, I kept trying to break the shield, but a voice kept calling out to me. Am I 100 tired? Am I being delusional? It was a battle of wills, and I was determined to come out on top. The amulet. It will crack the shield. The voice said.

There it is again. It wasn't an illusion. I could hear a woman's voice. An amulet will crack the shield. But what amulet? I still vividly recall the moment when Silas took the fake amulets we were given and set them ablaze. The only one remaining was...Cory's! My heart racing, I frantically scanned my surroundings for any sign of my mate.

Kali, do you smell Cory? Is she near?

No, Lucas. I don't think they are here or within the area.

I found myself asking the same question again and again - what on earth is this powerful amulet the voice was talking about? Oh, goddess, give me a sign!

"Is this your limit?" With a mischievous grin, Elisha said.

My growl reverberated across the land as I lunged towards her, but in one swift motion, she pushed me off to the far side, leaving me on my knees. Damn it! Now, I am too far away from her. In the distance, I spotted the Alphas making a move on Elisha. It was a heart-pumping scene that had me on the edge of my seat. However, absolutely nothing happened! They were thrown away like what happened to me. The amulet. The voice whispered again.

Where would the amulet be? Was the amulet on my clothes? As I ponder upon it, I distinctly remember tearing off my clothes somewhere over here. I couldn't help but scan my surroundings, and within seconds, my gaze landed on my ripped jeans. Without wasting a second, I dashed towards the spot where it was last seen and frantically scoured for the amulet. As my fingers grazed the back pocket of my jeans, I felt a slight bump. I slipped my hand inside and retrieved a smooth rock, its surface cool to the touch - the amulet! Upon seeing the amulet, I confirmed that it was Cory's. But how did it get here? Did...did she put it there? I shake my head. Now's not the time to think about how and why it got on my pants.

With this amulet on me, I feel like nothing can stand in my way. Every step I take is filled with a renewed sense of hope and energy. This will end NOW! I sprinted towards Elisha.

As I got closer, I couldn't help but notice the mischievous smirk spreading across her face.

"Ha ha ha! Your Majesty, nothing will change! You will not be able to touch a single strand of my hair. Give up!"

"Are you sure about that?"

"You have nothing against me and my power!"

"We'll see about that!"

When I reached her bubble, I struck a powerful blow on it.

"I told you..."

Elisha's words trailed off abruptly as the sound of shattering glass pierced through the air. As she looked at her shield, her eyes grew wide in shock at the sight of the ominous cracks spreading across its surface. "Wha. What?! How did you? This is impossible!"

As she sensed the impending danger, she quickly conjured up yet another layer of protection around her, determined to keep herself safe from harm - from me! With the amulet in my grasp, I shattered the shield once more - a rush of power surging through me. A surprised look was etched on her face as I was able to destroy another of her bubbles. I could do this all day, but the whole kingdom will perish if I don't stop her now. And as soon as I shattered another one, I lunged forward and grabbed her neck tightly. "Do you think I would die just like this? In your dreams, wolf!"

"Are those your last words?"

"Ha! You and your family will..." CRACK!

I broke her neck instantly. I let go, and her lifeless body dropped to the ground. Soon, the raging fireballs, swirling tornadoes, and violent earthquakes suddenly ceased, leaving a deep sense of awe and wonder in their wake.

There was a moment of silence. But as the realization sank in, a loud cheer erupted.

"Your Majesty!" Alpha Gabriel and Alpha John called out to me.

"We won!" Beta Anderson's voice boomed, echoing through the depths of the forest.

The air was charged with emotion as the crowd erupted into a mix of cheers, sighs, and tears. Elisha is dead. We won. Its over now! It's all coming to me. I looked at Elisha's lifeless body and thought again: It's over. I howled, and soon, howls were heard all throughout the kingdom, signaling the end of the war. As soon as I took a deep breath, I sprang to my feet and dashed towards the woods with a rush of adrenaline.

"Go get her!" In the distance, I could hear their voices raised in excitement.

Wait for me, Cory! I'm coming!
