Logan’s POV

I had no idea what happened in the seconds that followed.

All I remembered was that one moment I was standing ready to fight, and the next moment I saw the monster walking away from me.

He growled at me but backed away as he looked at the dense forest around us.

Reinforcement was arriving. I could already hear heavy footsteps getting closer.

The monster started running before I could attack. I was about to go after her when my eyes fell on her… I stared at her for a moment, my face petrified.

His face was losing all color and his lips were turning blue while his right arm was… What was that?

My eyes widened as I saw the veins in his arm turn black. The worst part was that it extended… It went all the way to his neck and chest.

I rushed to her and took her in my arms.
