The Rebel -
Chapter 2
17 years later
“Is this the right place?” one young girl asked another as they entered a forest clearing. They looked around.
The eldest looked at the map in her hand and nodded, sure they were in the right place.
“Yes, this must be the place. I was told I’d find it here.”
They looked around, saw no one and their hopes were extinguished.
Tired from past events and the long journey they’d taken to get there.
The little girl held her sister’s hand in desperation for her attention.
“What will we do if we don’t find the Rebel! Will we all be taken away, Rosie?”
The older sister stooped to her sister’s level, holding her hand in hers.
“No, Amelia. We’ll find a solution. As long as your sister’s here, no one can hurt you. I promise!”
They both hugged each other, afraid their pack would be attacked tonight.
Discouraged, they were about to go home when they saw a silhouette.
Rosie called for the person to stop.
Rosie and Amelia were surprised to see a young woman in her twenties staring at them.
“Good evening. I beg your pardon. But do you know where the Rebel is? We have urgent matters.”
The girl stared at them for a few seconds. Hands in her pockets and a cap on her head.
Her expression was anything but friendly, and she seemed irritated by their presence.
“No,” she replied in a cold voice, and the sisters looked at each other.
They wondered whether to ask her again or not.
She was about to leave when Rosie asked again.
She said, “Please! We must see him urgently! We…”
The girl ignored them, but the two sisters decided to follow her.
She was their last resort after all.
“Hey! Listen! Stop! We’re in a desperate situation! If you could help us, that would be great… At least tell us the address of the Rebel! We need to see him right away!”
“The Rebel isn’t here. You’re free to go.”
It was the longest sentence the girl had spoken so far, and they were grateful for it.
“He’s not here? So when is he coming back? We can wait!”
The girl stopped to look behind her and that’s when they noticed a bucket of water in her hands.
So, she went to get some water earlier. Does that mean anything?
They looked up to notice that they were approaching an old house with stone walls.
“Wow Rosie! The house is so beautiful!”
It was Amelia who exclaimed, and the mysterious girl couldn’t help but stare at the 5 or 6-year-old girl with the blue eyes.
Showing no emotion on her face, she then turned her gaze to Rosie.
She couldn’t care less about the worried girl and the little cutie.
“Please! We’re begging you! Our pack is going to be attacked tonight! If we don’t stop them… We’ll all be enslaved… I beg you, please… Please! The Rebel is our only hope… ! “
The girl looked at them, lost in thought, then nodded slightly.
She opened her door.
“Come in.”
The sisters looked inside excitedly, she set two cups of tea in front of them.
“I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault. Let me introduce myself. I’m Rosie Edmond and this is Amelia Edmond.”
The girl nodded and took a sip of hot water.
She asked them to continue.
“So… We are the daughters of the Alpha… We lost our parents… in the war a few days ago. So, theoretically, I’m the next Alpha. But as you know… Girls aren’t allowed to become Alpha… No pack will accept my position… Instead, they want me to merge my pack with other packs… The Alpha of the Redblood pack is planning an attack against us… You must have heard of their reputation… They’re the most fearsome pack in the world and their Alpha is a merciless inhuman beast… The way they enslave pack members… I fear the worst… please, I need to see the Rebel urgently!”
The girl seemed unaffected by this, her composure frightening and uncomfortable for the sisters.
“The Rebel won’t be back any time soon.”
“What! But, it’s very urgent! How are we going to… Oh moon goddess!”
Rosie got up in a panic, pacing back and forth rubbing her hands as little Amelia began to cry.
Rosie tried to comfort her, but the girl couldn’t stop.
Past events were overwhelming for her.
The girl looked at Amelia intently, her tears doing something to her.
Clenching her fists, she sighed as she approached them.
“What pack and the time of the attack?” she asked and Rosie nodded, rising at once.
Rosie took the girl’s hand with teary eyes.
“Silvermoon… 10 o’clock tonight.”
Rosie looked at the girl expectantly, nodded at them and picked up the empty cups to put them away.
“It’ll be done,” the girl said and Rosie exchanged a look with Amelia, who stopped crying.
Confused, she took a step forward to ask.
“But, you said the Rebel isn’t here? How is that going to happen?”
The girl stopped on the threshold, staring at Rosie with such coldness that Rosie had to cover herself in fear.
The warning was clear.
Not to question her.
Rubbing her head awkwardly, she let out a mock laugh and set off, taking Amelia with her.
“I’m sorry. I’m just very desperate and I need help… I really appreciate it. If you say it’ll be done… We believe you… Thank you! Really!”
“Close the door after you,” sighed the girl as she cleared the table and poured the water into the cup.
Without bothering to give them another glance.
Rosie wasn’t too sure they could trust her, but who else could they trust?
The girl was their last resort.
The only hope of reaching the Rebel.
The infamous wolf who is known to stand up for justice.
The one figure who supports women above all else.
The protector of those they called “the weaker half”.
“You don’t know what this means to us! We are so indebted to you! Thank you… …. Madame…”
Rosie looked at her, hoping to get her name.
But, she continued to ignore them.
“I’m sorry… It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it. We’ll be off then…”
And just as they were about to walk out without hoping for an answer, a cold voice whispered to them:
“Vera.”
Rosie looked up in surprise, to see beautiful brown eyes looking down at her.
With a grateful curtsy, she gave him a sincere smile.
“Thank you, Vera. Thank you.”
… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …..
At 10:10 pm
Silvermoon pack grounds
The 50-hectare site was surrounded by men determined not to let a single soul escape the attack.
Waiting for their leader’s orders, they were ready to pillage the territory of all its valuables.
From treasures to women.
They were ready to claim everything.
With adrenalin coursing through their veins, they were ready to unleash their beasts on the innocent.
On the other side, Rosie was busy ordering all the women to the basement.
The only place where they could be safe for a while at least.
Her eyes saw her warriors standing at the borders, and she already knew the fate of this battle.
Bloodshed and screams.
Struggle and defeat.
Her only hope was nowhere to be found, so fear settled in her stomach.
In her heavy armor, she stood alongside the male warriors.
Ready to fight to her last breath.
“Warriors of Silvermoon! Are we ready?”
“Yes!”
“Attack!”
And so the first howl echoed through the silent forest, marking the beginning of a war.
… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …
“Line up. Hands behind your backs!” ordered Beta Ron of the Redblood pack, eyeing the captives with an air of victory.
His eyes fixed on the so-called Alpha female who would end up lying at his feet, at his mercy.
Turning her body with a kick, he smiled at the beauty.
Surely he’d have his share of fun with her once they reached their territory.
“Leave… Let them… Leave… You bastard!” swore Rosie with all the hatred she could muster for the man. As the Beta simply crouched down to her level and ran his finger over her beautiful face.
She pushed his touch away as a small voice spoke through the prisoners.
“Leave my sister alone, a*****e! Leave her alone!”
Stunned, Ron saw a girl barely seven years old staring murderously at him.
She was struggling to shake off the grip of the guards holding her.
Grabbing Rosie by a firm grip on her hair, Ron pulled her up.
“Accept the merger or I’ll have no choice but to use force.”
She sighed angrily, not ready to admit defeat.
Spitting on her face, she looked up at him in victory.
The Beta closed his eyes, his grip on her hair tightening. Tilting his face, he pressed his face close to her ear and whispered resentfully.
“That’ll be your biggest mistake, bitch. Now watch as I kill your dear sister in front of you and let my men enjoy your wolves. Once they’re done with them, I’ll drag your sorry a*s and use you as I see fit. I’ll f**k you until you beg me to die!”
His disgusting words struck fear into Rosie’s eyes, and she decided to kill herself before she let that happen.
Struggling, she tried to let go, but to no avail. Smiling mischievously, he nodded to one of his men who brought his sobbing sister over.
Tossing her to the floor, they raised a sword and Ron stared at Rosie with a smirk.
Waiting for her to surrender.
One of the men kicked the little child and Rosie screamed at them.
“Noooooooo! Leave her alone! Please!”
Ron pulled her back by her hair, making her back hit his chest.
She cried as she saw Amelia in pain, b***d dripping from the cut on her forehead.
“Do you submit?” asked Ron, whispering in her ear from behind.
Tears of helplessness left her eyes as she moved her head to say no.
The men began beating the 7-year-old girl again. She couldn’t see this.
“Leave her alone! I…”
“I’m asking if you submit, Rosie?”
She nodded, helpless, and Beta’s grip on her hair tightened.
“The words… Say it!”
“Yes,” she said finally defeated and the Beta raised his hand.
Making his men stop and the little girl fall.
“Good girl.”
Stepping back, he let Rosie’s body fall. She crawled to her almost unconscious sister.
Her hands trembled as she held Amelia’s bloodied face in her hands.
Ron ordered his men to take the captives as prisoners.
Women and children wept in defeat and sadness.
Men approached to separate Rosie from Amelia.
As Rosie struggled to hold her sister in her arms.
“Leave us alone, please! I’ve already submitted! Please leave us now…”
Ron laughed, how stupid she was to think he’d let her go once she’d submitted.
“Oh, that’s too bad. Did I forget to tell you? You’ll be my personal slave Rosie. Now get up!”
Rosie looked at him in disbelief. This was deception. Pure deception.
She refused and his men held her in their clutches.
Ron stepped closer, his finger sliding from her face to her cleavage.
“No… please, no!” she said struggling, which made Ron laugh.
His fingers settled on the top button of her worn shirt.
Before he could open it, a voice stopped him.
“Blackmailing a woman into submission and then trying to take advantage of her. Bravo men. You’re brave.”
Ron turned to look at the intruder, as well as all the men around them.
Letting go of Rosie, they stared at the girl with narrowed eyes.
A girl barely 5’7″. Cap hiding her eyes, black clothes, black combat boots.
“Who are you, bitch? Go away.”
She sighed and adjusted her cap.
She lifted her face to stare coldly at Ron.
“I didn’t come here for nothing, boys. Now, let’s start the negotiation. Shall we?”
They looked at the girl in shock, her confidence surprising them.
The sound of laughter echoed through the silent forest as Rosie looked at her expectantly.
Hope that she’d brought the Rebel with her.
Looking behind her, she found no one and fear invaded her mind.
“Vera? Leave here, please… They’ll captivate you as a slave too!”
Vera looked at Rosie for a quick second before focusing on Ron again.
Placing her hands in his leather jacket, she approached him.
“Who’s your Alpha again? Why isn’t that bastard here?”
The laughter died down. No one disrespected their Alpha.
No one.
If only they knew she was going to do a lot more than disrespect him.
“Our Alpha is busy and why would he talk to you, girl?” they asked.
“Too bad. Then there’s no point in negotiating with you.”
“How dare you? Who are you anyway?”
And that’s when she smirked and rolled up her sleeves.
Ready to have some fun.
“People call me Vera with love.”
She grabbed Ron’s neck and began to choke him.
The men surrounded her on all sides as she pulled out the knives hidden in her side pockets.
With a smirk, she kept talking before sliding the knife across the Beta’s neck and dropping it.
Ron was dead.
“While the men call me the Rebel with hate.”
And that’s when all the men stopped to stare at her incredulously.
“So what’s next for you boys? Who’s next?”
They trembled with fear, for they had seen the death of their leader with their own eyes, it was only a matter of time now to join their Beta.
The Rebel was infamous for one thing and that was merciless murder, slaughter as some might say.
Smiling at them, she adjusted her cap and twirled the knife in her hand.
Let the party begin.
