The Lycan King's Rejected Queen
The Lycan King’s Rejected Queen Chapter 53

“Are you happy, My Queen?”

Alina’s eyebrows were raised. Her heart was pounding.

“Q-Queen?”

Aaron caressed her fingers with his thumb.

“Why? Did you think I was joking with you that day?”

Alina felt emotional. She looked away from her.

He was still the ruthless Lycan king. But he was so soft when he was with her.

She could not believe that it was happening with her. She was a child whom her parents did not care about. She was a girl who never came back to her pack because she knew she did not have any home, though she had her parents. She was a student who worked hard daily just to pay her tuition fees.

She could not believe that her fate was finally looking at her and giving her a man who would cherish her.

“Why are you crying again?” Aaron frowned and asked.

He did not say more and began to walk fast while grabbing her hand.

Alina looked at him. “Where are we going?” She asked when she felt they were running.

“Just come. You will see yourself.” He replied.

Alina looked around. People were looking at them in awe. Maybe they thought they were lovers.

Women and girls looked at Aaron and their eyes glowed. They were amazed with his good looking face and his body structures. He was tall, fair and handsome. Though he was in normal clothes, he was looking different from others. Anybody could see how handsome he was.

Aaron stopped in front of a big beautiful lake. Alina’s eyes delighted. “Wow.”

She wondered about the beauty of the lake. The lake was full of people here and there. But in the sky there were so many sky lanterns.

Aaron saw Alina looking at a seller who was sitting in the upper step and selling a few lanterns.

“Can we buy them?” Alina asked.

Aaron thought for some second and said, “They are very cheap and did not look so decorated.”

The sky lanterns were orange color with no decorations.

Alina saw other people’s sky lanterns. Those were finely decorated with black stylish calligraphy. People were writing something in the middle of the sky lanterns.

Alina shook her head and looked at Aaron.

“Mate, it’s okay. Though these are cheap lanterns, they are useful.”

Aaron raised an eyebrow. “Really? How is it?”

“She took one sky lantern and raised it in front of Aaron.

“This lantern has no decorations, so we can write more wishes on it. See how others are writing less because of the decorations. But we are lucky to find it. We will write more than one wish.” Alina replied.

The seller was looking at Alina. He had never heard or thought about these types of things. He thought this girl was really brilliant.

“Yes yes, she is right.” He said.

Aaron looked at Alina and said to the Seller,

“Give her two.”

Seller gave them two orange sky lanterns. Alina began to step down slowly to the lake.

Aaron gave money to the seller.

“It is too much for these simple sky lanterns, Sir.” The seller said when he saw the young man gave him too much money. It was more than the price of highly decorated lanterns.

Aaron stared at Alina’s back and replied,

“It’s not too much in front of my Queen’s smile.”

Then he went to follow Alina.

The seller stared at Aaron. ‘Queen? This handsome young man is in love. He is thinking himself the king and his lover the Queen.’ The seller smiled and shook his head then he continued to call other customers.

Alina came down to the last step and sat down. She turned her head and waved at Aaron.

“Mate, I am here.”

Aaron nodded at her. He came down and sat beside her.

There were other people sitting there but very far away from them.

Everyone needed their privacy so they sat with spaces.

No one could see others because it was dark. Only the person beside them could see them.

Alina looked at the sky. So many sky lanterns were flying in the sky. They were shining with the fire inside.

She opened the packet of those sky lanterns and took the marker which was there in the packet,

“Here.” She gave one lantern to Aaron.

“What?” He asked.

“What do you mean by what? Don’t you want to write something before you fly it?”

“I don’t want to.”

“Why? Then why did you buy two when you don’t want to fly away any sky lanterns?”

“Because you were telling me about more wishes. So I thought I should buy two for you.”

Hearing that Alina face palmed.

“You have to fly this lantern for me.”

“No I won’t.” Aaron said. He did not believe in this type of thing.

“Please???”

“No.”

“Pretty pleaseee.” Alina blinked her numerous times and made a puppy face.

Aaron found her cute. She was looking like a cute little kitten in front of him.

“Okay.”

Alina smiled. “Yes. Now write something.”

“I don’t have any wishes. I have all the things I want.”

“But at least write something for the pack then.”

Aaron sighed and took the lantern from her hand.

He opened the marker and wrote something.

Alina tilted her head and tried to see what he was writing.

‘I HOPE MY REALM WILL ALWAYS BE A SAFE PLACE FOR MY PEOPLE.’

Alina was amazed with his thoughts.

“Let’s fly it.”

“What about you?”

“I will write after this.”

Aaron flew the sky lantern away.

For the first time in his life, he flew sky lanterns. He did not do it in his childhood either.

His father always took him here with her mother and told him he should only come here to give offerings to the villagers.

But his mother always flew sky lanterns. She told him to do so, but his father always stopped her and said that a king should not do this but achieved own wish by himself.

“Now it’s my turn.” Alina said.

She opened her lantern’s packet and marker.

She took the lantern to her other side so that Aaron could not see what she wrote,

‘I HOPE I WILL NOT BE A REJECTED QUEEN.’

Then she tried to fly it but Aaron stopped her by grabbing her hand.

“I want to see what you have written on it.”

“No.”

“Why?”

“I will tell you when it will be fulfilled.”

Aaron narrowed his eyes. “It’s not fair. I showed you mine.”

“But you did not write your wish. You wished for your people.”

“Okay fine. I won’t force you. But you can tell me what your wish is. I will fulfill any of your wish anytime.”

Alina nodded and stood up. She walked slightly from where they were sitting and lit the sky lanterns.

Then she flew it in the sky.

When the sky lantern flew in the sky Aaron saw something written on the lantern. He tried to read but there were so many lanterns there, Alina’s lantern went mixed. But he saw the word ‘Rejected’.

Alina came to sit next to him.

“Do you think I will reject you?”

“You saw my wish?”

“Don’t you trust me?” He asked.

Alina looked at him. She could see him in the dark. The lanterns’ lights were glowing so she could see his face.

“Mate” She called him.

Aaron did not reply to her.

Alina thought she made him angry. She did not mean that. She was just afraid of her fate. What If something happened or what If he would dislike her again.

If he again started to think about her rank like she saw in the role play then what?

She grabbed his arm and put her head on his shoulder.

“I am sorry, Mate. I did not want to make you angry. Please don’t be angry with me.”

Aaron felt her scent when she came close to him. Her smell made him calm. Her scent was something he wanted to smell every time. It was like an addiction to him.

“I am not angry with you.” Aaron replied.

Alina smiled when she heard that. She did not explain to him anything more.

She was looking at the sky and amazed with the beauty of the sky which was now full of Sky Lanterns.

Aaron looked down and stared at her face. She was looking very beautiful. She just wore a simple dress just like other villagers but still she was the most beautiful woman in his eyes.

He saw how she was looking at the sky full of hopes. He did not want this woman to be sad anymore.

He realized that he had no other choice than accept her. His heart wanted her, his wolf wanted her.

He won every war but lost his heart in front of her.

He saw her eyes were slowly closing. He put his arm around her.

She felt sleepy and she slept in his arms.

They looked like the most r0mantic couple. They were so busy in their world that they missed to see

One of their lanterns fell down to the water of the lake.
