“WHY ARE YOU LATE?”

Alina’s heart started to beat fast when she heard his voice. She slowly turned around and looked at him.

He was in a long black night robe. He was so tall. His chest was showing. She could see how built his body was. She looked at his face, his hair was not back brushed now. His front hair fell on his forehead. He was very handsome. How could Moon Goddess give her this handsome mate?

“First, you ran from my office when you didn’t even take my permission to leave. And now you made your king wait? Just because you are my mate do you think you have already become the Queen?” Aaron said with his deep voice.

Alina shook her head numerous times. “No, No. I didn’t want to be late. But Crystal was in my room. So I had to tell her to go back to her room and then I came here.”

Aaron was looking at her with his deep eyes. Nobody could tell what he was thinking.

“Walk forward.” He said.

“What?”

“Are you deaf?”

Alina shut her mouth and started to walk forward while Aaron walked behind her.

They were going inside the garden.

Alina was looking at the beauty of the garden. It was a rose garden. Even at night, the garden was looking very beautiful. The moonlight shone on the roses. She could see the flowers and smell them.

“I called you here to talk about the mate bond.”

Alina turned to her behind and looked at him. She went two steps back and now they were walking together.

“What about our mate bond?” Alina said in a low tone.

“Did you tell anyone about me being your mate?” He asked and looked at her.

Alina shook her head.

“Words.”

“No, I didn’t. Should I tell-“

“No.” Aaron said and looked ahead. “You don’t have to tell anyone about it. No one should know about us.”

“B-But mate, you are-“

“Don’t call me mate.”

“But you are my mate.”

“Very soon I will not anymore.”

Alina heard his words and looked down. She wanted to cry. Why was he doing this to her? Did he call her to tell her just that? Not to tell anyone about them? Why?

Aaron looked at Alina and saw she was upset. He didn’t want to care about her. He was a ruthless man. If anyone saw how softly he was talking with her they would misunderstand them. She was an Omega and it was not her fault. That was why Aaron was patiently talking with her. But her smell made it tough for him. The mate bond was really strange to him. When he saw she was crying he felt uneasy that time. He didn’t like the feeling.

But Aaron could not be soft for this woman. He was the king. He was dominant. A dominant king could not be weak in front of his mate bond that he would break very soon.

“Listen, I know you are upset about what I told you but I don’t care about it, okay?”

Alina looked at him in horror. A tear dropped from her eye.

Aaron felt the same feeling again. “Stop crying. Why do you always cry? Why are you so weak?”

Alina looked down and sobbed.

Aaron was staring at her for some time. She was looking like a little girl who was crying and sobbing.

“Are you a child? Didn’t I say stop crying?”

Alina wiped her tears and sobbed. But tears rolled down her cheeks again.

Aaron shook his head. He took out his handkerchief from his robe’s pocket and gave it to her.

“Wipe your tears. I don’t like people crying. I feel like they are low-lives who only cry and can not do anything except cry.”

Alina looked at his handkerchief but then her eyes fell on his hand. She immediately grabbed his hand.

“What happened to your hand?” She asked him.

It was a deep cut on his palm. ‘I heard Lycans have the power of fast healing. Then why hasn’t it healed yet?’ She thought.

Aaron frowned at her when she touched his hand. He didn’t like it when someone touched him. But this woman’s touch somehow felt warm to him.

He closed his eyes and scolded himself for feeling like this.

Alina saw him close his eyes tight. She thought he was in pain. So she pulled his palm close to her mouth and started to blow on his wound.

Aaron opened his eyes instantly.

“What are you doing?”

Alina looked at him and said, “Is it painful? I’m blowing on it.”

Aaron was amazed by her again. “Will it be less painful if you blow on it?” He asked.

Alina stopped, then said, “No but you will feel good. The wound must be burning inside because of that you are feeling pain.” Then she again started to blow.

“Where were you in these years?” He asked while looking at her.

“I was outside the pack because of my higher studies.” Alina said while blowing.

“Then how do you meet Crystal?”

“She is my childhood friend.”

“Why didn’t you come here with her these years?”

“I told you today that I wanted to come after my graduation.”

“What about your parents? Did you call them?”

Alina stopped and glanced at him. She thought, ‘Does he want me to leave his pack so eagerly? Am I disturbing him? However I didn’t call him but he did. He called me here, he told me he doesn’t care about me even if I feel sad. Now again talking about my parents?’

“What?” Aaron asked her when he saw she was staring at him.

Alina let go of his hand and said, “I am sorry, I touched your hand without your permission. Please don’t get angry with me. I will talk with my parents tomorrow. When they come back, I will leave immediately.”

Aaron was staring at her. He didn’t mean that. He wanted to say that if her parents were worried for her.

“Hope they will come back soon.” He said.

Alina nodded her head and started to walk ahead. She wanted to feel refreshed. If this man wanted to go back to his residence he could. But right now she wanted to feel the fresh air.

She wanted to go back to her old life. When she worked for her and lived her life fine.

But she had a mate now. Her mate didn’t want her so she would get the rejection very soon.

She was not prepared for all of this. Everything in her life turned upside down. She was lost in the path of fate. How could she find the edge of her destiny when she was losing the path? She didn’t know what would happen to her if her mate rejected her.

She forgot about those dreams. She understood that it was just an illusion. But in an illusion, she had seen her mate. She got the chance to meet her mate in her dreams.

Aaron was looking at her back. How carelessly she was walking in his garden. He had never seen this woman before.

When he was crowned four years ago, he was twenty years old. At that time he didn’t know anything except going to war and winning it. All he knew was to kill his enemies.

He searched for his mate who would be his Queen and rule his kingdom with him. But he couldn’t find her. Looked like she was out of the pack that was why he did not find his mate.

Before his crown ceremony, he was not in the pack for ten years. His father sent him outside because he thought his wolf would destroy everything in rage.

Aaron started to walk behind Alina. She was looking here and there. She sometimes smiled at the beauty of the garden. She looked confused. Sometimes she looked sad and sometimes happy.

For the first time, he was looking at a woman like this. He was observing this woman and her facial expressions. But then he told himself,

‘Stop letting her see your gentle side and let her see who the actual Aaron Robertson is.’
