The Luna’s Pure Heart – Chapter 86

(Eleanor pov)

I sat up in bed, Damion was by my side and being more attentive than ever..four days I had been asleep..I couldn’t believe it. I wish I could say I traveled to some otherworldly dimension and met the moon goddess herself or something..but honestly, I just slept. It only felt like hours to me..not days. I guess I just had over-exerted myself and also having lost all that b***d, I was physically and mentally wiped out like never before. I think using those gifts I was given to free Damion and then having them drain and end up so tired was a lot for my body to adjust to. Then that stab wound and the silver making it not heal fast enough..I was done at that point and wanted to just close my eyes and sleep it all off.

Damion informed me that Helen, and Rachel we here. Helen drove Rachel down while the Beta’s shifted and physically ran the whole way back. Damion had just linked the Beta’s that I had woken up and I was preparing for the bombardment of people to fill the room.

I heard him as soon as he entered our floor.

“Goddess Pierce, move out of the way, I have to see Angel.” Lance yelled, making me chuckle as I watched Damion roll his eyes.

“Why the hell is he always so dramatic..” he g*****d, going to stand to open the door.

“It’s okay Pierce, she is ready for visitors.” Damion told him, and before he could even finish his sentence Lance shoved past them both and came to my side in an instant.

“Angel, are you okay? Let me see you..don’t ever do something like that again. You scared the hell out of me.” He began turning my head from side to side, examining me carefully.

“I’m fine Lance.” I muttered between squished cheeks.

“How’s our pup? It’s okay little one, Uncle Lance is here now.” He said slowly, projecting his words towards my stomach. Suddenly I swear I felt a little flutter, making me jump as I looked up at Lance with wide eyes.

“What is it Eleanor? What’s wrong?” Damion raced to my side, gripping my hand and glaring towards Lance like he just hurt me or something and I blinked my eyes in surprise.

“I..I think I just felt the little pup kick.” I mumbled, placing my hand down to my belly as I looked between Damion and Lance. Considering I am a month and a few extra days in now, the little pup has probably doubled in size since I last saw it. Especially when I only have four months left of being pregnant.

Lance had the smuggest look on his face, making Damion scowl right back at him.

“That means nothing Lance, you probably scared my poor pup with all your shouting.” Damion barked at him, placing a hand on my belly and looking up at me sadly.

“I’m sure it was just a coincidence baby.” I added, trying to console my mate as Lance was taking this to heart..the last thing we needed was Lance getting an even bigger head about all of this.

“If that’s what you want to say, I think this pup already loves his cool uncle Lance the most.” He grinned from ear to ear and Damion snapped his head to him, a low growl leaving his chest as Lance lifted his hands up in surrender.

“Can’t blame me if the kid thinks I’m cool already.” Lance shrugged, making Damion and I both shake our heads in disapproval. Uncle Lance was going to be trouble..I knew that much at least.

Before anyone could say anything else, I heard a commotion coming from the hallway and that’s when four overly emotional women crashed into the room.

“Oh Goddess Eleanor, you’re finally awake.” Helen cried out, racing over towards me, and was soon followed by Rachel, Dani, and Jane.

Seeing all of their crying faces..and knowing they were so worried about me, I couldn’t help but cry myself. Ugh..these hormones!

“Elle you had us all so worried!” Jane added, pushing Lance out of the way as shock filled him by the sudden rush of people.

Rachel looked at him sympathetically and I swear I saw Lance melting right before my eyes. I could tell he has really fallen for her since the last time I saw them.

“Elle, I just have to tell you..what you did was so badass, everyone is talking about it.” Dani whispered, avoiding the glare of my mate as she looked at me excitedly.

“I prefer we don’t encourage that kind of behavior for the Queen please..she might get it in her head that she can do that type of stuff again..” Damion grumbled, making me squeeze his hand as I rolled my eyes at him.

“I would do it all over again..just to save you.” I smiled sweetly, causing his eyes to soften as he leaned forward, kissing me delicately on the lips.

Pretty soon the whole room was filled with all of the people I cared about the most. Lucas arrived with a tray of food for me, he looked relieved, to say the least. I know he is the reserved one out of the two but I feel like I can read his emotions better. Lance is the type of guy to hide his behind sarcasm or just goofing around, whereas with Lucas..it just takes one look to know how he is feeling.

Pierce and Jake also came into the room. It was funny, Jake kept apologizing to me about not protecting me like he promised Damion he would..while I kept apologizing to Pierce for sneaking out. I honestly felt so bad for both guys. What happened to me was in no way anyone’s fault but Elder Paul’s and my own I guess..it was pretty stupid to jump in front of a silver dagger..but I would do it over and over again just to protect my mate.

‘I guess we were a little dramatic about it though.’

Kari chimed in, making my heart soar. I haven’t heard from her yet, I felt her sleeping in the back of my mind earlier and didn’t want to wake her.

‘Kari, you saved our mate..I am so proud of you.’

I truly was so proud to be blessed with a wolf like Kari. I know it was a little foolish to be so reckless..but a part of me knew we would survive. There was no way in hell I would leave this life without Damion..without bringing our pup into this world and experience a full life together. I don’t know how or why I know this..but I can feel that Damion and I have a bright future ahead of us. One that is meant to provide this realm with peace and happiness..I guess first we still have to get through the moon ball and me becoming the actual Queen though before all that.

Helen informed me that she is actually going to stay with me for two weeks until the moon ball. She wants to make sure Rachel gets settled in as well. She and Jane hit it off right away like I thought they would. Helen has even offered to help Jane out in the kitchen and to prep a few care packages for some of the families who had lost a loved one. We had lost a total of twenty-five men on our side. Not counting the warriors that turned on us and went on Elder Paul’s side. We are planning to hold a special memorial for them soon.

I also learned that the castle was currently going through some..renovations. Damion definitely caused some havoc..once I was informed about it, Damion shrugged and looked at me sheepishly. I couldn’t help but laugh..for a guy that loves things organized and tidy, he sure knows how to make a damn mess.

I ended up eating my lunch and talking with everyone for a while the mood in the room slowly became more relaxed and at ease. I know I scared them..but I honestly feel so touched by the amount of people that truly care for me.

After a while, everyone began dispersing and going back to what they had to do. I noticed Rachel continued to hover around while it was just me her mate’s and Damion left in the room.

“Baby, is it okay if you start me a bath? I just want to speak to Rachel really quick.” I asked gently and Damion nodded his head. I didn’t miss the worry that flashed through his eyes from having to leave me..but it would only be a few minutes, I’m sure he can manage that.

Lance and Lucas said their goodbyes, their own worry now showing as they both slowly exited the room, glancing towards Rachel as Damion had to practically shove them out of the room.

Rachel let out a deep sigh before walking up towards the bed and sitting down in the chair next to it. She began biting her l*p nervously and wringing her hands together.

“Elle, you really scared us all.” She spoke quietly, her words soft and full of emotion as she reached out gripping my hand.

“I have never seen Lance and Lucas so worried before..I mean..I know I just met them, but this was a new emotion I witnessed.” She looked down, I could tell something was bothering her.

“I’m okay now, besides..I don’t plan on doing that again anytime soon.” I laughed trying to lighten the mood. Rachel smiled half-heartedly and continued to look down at her hands.

“Rachel, how are you doing? I know this must be a lot to take in..moving and having two new mates.” I inquired gently, not wanting to push her too much.

Suddenly she let out a frustrated g***n and laid her head back against the chair while closing her eyes.

“I just..I don’t think they like me Elle..like right now, it just feels like they only see me as a damn friend or a sister. It’s frustrating!” She stated angrily and seeing her getting this fired up left me practically speechless.

“Of course they like you Rachel..what makes you think that?” I finally asked, squeezing her hand gently as I sat up more in bed and turned towards her fully.

“They haven’t made any moves..like..romantically..other than that one k**s with Lucas in River Rock..I mean they hold my hand and stuff, but Lance does the same with you..” her shoulders sunk, and I couldn’t help but smile as I realized something. Lance and Lucas were taking things very slow because they didn’t want to scare Rachel off. That had to be it. I notice how they both looked at her earlier, they looked at Rachel like she was their whole world.

“Well..have you tried to initiate anything?” I asked curiously, noticing her cheeks growing red immediately.

“I..me? Like, me make a move on them?!” She was already flustered by the mere idea. I know this is all new for Rachel, so I can see why she is so intimidated by the idea..but I think that’s the only way to show the Beta’s she is ready for more..she needs to initiate.

I nodded my head, the action making her swallow hard as she shuffled nervously in her chair.

“Rachel, it doesn’t have to be anything big..but maybe you should ask them on a date, let them know you are interested to take the next…step.” I tried to put it as lightly as possible, knowing how shy she was.

“A date?!” Her eyes snapped to mine and I nodded my head yes.

“Did the Beta’s ever tell you about the date they set up for me and Damion? We were both clueless about all of this too in the beginning. The date they set up was actually what brought us together finally.” I smiled warmly at the memory..then I got an idea.

“I think it’s time I return the favor.” I beamed, causing Rachel to look at me with wide eyes as I nodded my head yes.

“I think tomorrow we should go shopping.” I couldn’t help but feel excited. To know Rachel is ready to take the next step and accept the Beta’s..I will definitely return the favor..I am going to plan the best date ever for Rachel and her mate’s!
