The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 95

Faith massaged her temples as she moved her neck from side to side. She had been hunched over the pack’s main computer in Chloe’s office for four hours looking at the Excel spreadsheets that held the accounts for the various projects the Crescent Moon pack were involved in. Thankfully, she came from a loving and giving pack that had endless funds available to them due to the many businesses Zander owned, and they had no financial issues,.But ensuring each project was running to budget, and facilitating charity requests took longer than she had thought it would, and she had a new appreciation for everything Chloe was doing, especially as the Luna was only 18 and had struggled with Dyslexia and ADHD. Finally she let out a breath, each row balanced perfectly, and she shut down the computer.

Liane had not reached their border, Faith had the patrols on the look out, Lacey said that the girl had not returned to the Silvermoon pack house, but where she had disappeared too for the past five hours, was beyond them, as there was no no-mans’ land between the two packs, and that in it’s self was making her hairs stand on end, and the feeling of something not being right became even more apparent than it had been previously.

Picking up the telephone, Faith dialed the number for Lacey, and let out a frustrated breath as she waited for the Silvermoon Luna to answer her phone.

“Silvermoon Pack, this is Luna Lacey speaking.” Lacey answered, the ultimate professional at all times.

“Hey Luna, it is Faith, no word from our patrols that Liane is here. Any news at your end?” Faith asked.

“Nothing, we cannot find her. Robin spoke with Alpha Harry, and got some background information from him.” Lacey let out a breath.

“And?” Faith asked. She both loved and hated the puzzle that was Delphine’s new friend.

“Apparently she had been newly mated in the last 8 months, she came from Berwick pack, and had moved to Wearside upon meeting her mate. They had welcomed her with open arms, as you might expect, but things between Liane and her mate did not go well, and it wasn’t long before they were arguing. None stop. Luna Mary received many complaints from those who lived in the same apartment building as Liane, stating they were woken up at all times of the night hearing her screaming and shouting, along with smashing of glasses and the like. The pack attempted to intervene, and had a meeting set up with the mates to find out what the issue was and ensure there was no violence between the pair, and offer them some mate guidance and counseling. It was the night before their first session that Liane collapsed with the pains of betrayal, and according to her testimony, it was then she crawled back to the apartment she shared with her mate, and caught him in bed with a woman.” Lacey took a breath then continued the story she had from Alpha Harry and Luna Mary.

“What was strange, and did not quite add up was that there was no physical evidence of such an act taking place. Alpha Harry had sent some guards to the apartment as soon as Liane had made her complaint, they had found her mate sound asleep in the bed. No woman was there, nor was there any evidence of a woman being there, no strange scent, no condoms around, nothing. However, they brought him to the Alpha’s office for a conversation to find out what was happening, when Liane instantly rejected her mate on sight, and that is when Delphine and Issac offered to bring her here.”

Faith furrowed her brows. Betrayals of the mate bond were few and far between, and usually only when it was with chosen mates rather than fated mates. Normally, in cases like this, the mate that has been cheated on would find it difficult to even stand for a few hours after the event had taken place, but Liane had managed to make her way to the Alpha and Luna to make her accusation, even after she had allegedly witnessed the act. Something was definitely not adding up.

“Liane’s mate denies the allegations, and although he was floored by the rejection as you might expect, he recovered within a day, and has since informed the Alpha that, rather than feel devastated, his wolf felt relived, almost like it was a false bond.” Lacey continued.

“She came from the Berwick pack, you said?” Faith confirmed with Lacey.

“Yes, and that in its self is quite suspicious, after all they are allies to Ullswater pack, and the fact that Liane and her mate started fighting, the moment they had completed their mating and marking, Luna Mary stated that according to her mate, Liane suddenly changed, and that his wolf was no longer obsessed with her, rather than want to protect her and be near her, his wolf wanted to be as far away as possible, she became almost like an enemy, but despite that he did not cheat, thinking they just had some teething issues that could be resolved.”

“Interesting, we know that Amanda works with witches. I wonder if it was a way to infiltrate the Wearside pack by creating a false mate bond, but as time went on, her mate’s wolf recognized it was not right, and when Delphine arrived Liane saw an opportunity to seek refuge, and infiltrate our packs.” Faith pondered.

“That was exactly my thought.A way for them to have spies in each pack that would be and are loyal to Zander and Chloe, who support the changes we are proposing. Which begs the question, how many false mates are there in our packs?” Lacey sighed.

“Yes, I agree, but what do we do about Liane?” Faith asked.

“Robin called Zander, and he said to keep our friends close and our enemy’s closer, we will keep an eye on her, and if she is trying to find out information, then we will use it to our advantage, leaving a false line of breadcrumbs for her to follow.”

“However, none of this tells us where the girl has disappeared too, today. I wonder, keep an eye out for any power surges around us, no matter how small.” Faith sighed.

“What are you thinking, a cloaking spell of some kind?” Lacey asked. She hated dealing with witches. However, she knew they had no real power, but they still had to be wary of them.

“Potentially, or we could just be overthinking this whole thing.” Faith sighed, wondering if she was becoming paranoid about everything that was going on around them.

“I would rather overthink than not act. Let’s see when or if she turns up.” Lacey sighed.

“I hope that she does, because if she doesn’t, then she has the information she wants, and that will put us on the back foot.” Faith sighed, as she nipped the bridge of her nose.

“Josh and Nicki have arrived at the Shetland pack. Their damage is not as bad as the Ronsay pack, but they are still happy about the offer of support. At least we are building good relationships with those two packs. I suppose what our enemy did to harm us, has only aided us in the long term.” Lacey changed the subject, trying to find something good about the frustrating day’s events.

“Yes, that is good. These guys normally remain neutral in everything, and to have their votes is a massive achievement, despite everything, we do have cause for celebration I suppose.” Faith agreed, yet still the puzzle that Liane presented was playing in her mind, and she was more determinedthan ever to work out what if anything was going on with the girl.

Lacey went quiet at the other end of the phone, and Faith wondered if she was still there.

“Lacey?” Faith questioned.

“Yes, here, I just had a link from our patrol, Liane is back, and heading back to Delphines and Issac’s place.” Lacey confirmed.

“Okay, well, let’s keep a close eye on her.” Faith sighed, wondering where the heck the girl had been and who with.

“Agreed, I think we should pay a visit to Hannah when Chloe and Zander return. Maybe she can shed some light on this situation.”

Zander and Chloe stood beside their car as Hamish and Douglas gave them both a hug. They had forged a true and strong friendship with the pair of Alphas, and Chloe was going to miss them both, and their amazing little girl Hazel, who was a breath of fresh air.

“Aye, thank you for all your help and support these last few days. I am sorry you did not meet with Alpha Martin and Luna Patricia of the Sheltand pack, but I know your brother and his Luna mate have made a positive impression on them, and they have told us they will offer you their unconditional support as and when you guys need it.” Hamish smiled at them.

“Thank you Hamish, it means so much, and if you need anything at all, we will happily offer you funding to support the pack, especially now we know you have been struggling for all these years. You have our number. Please promise me you will call if you have any problems.” Zander offered the Alpha.

“Aye, we will be in touch.” Douglas nodded his head in agreement, the pack was back up and running after all the help Zander and Chloe’s pack members had given them, and the homes that were damaged were repaired, along with the power supply on the small island.

Most of the Crescent Moon Pack members were going on the ferry as foot passengers, and the private aircraft was going to transport them back to the pack. However, Chloe had insisted that Ethan and Ellie come in the car with her and Zander. The pair of them were hardly speaking now, and irrespective of their feelings, and avoiding doing anything that would taint the mating bond if they were not mated to each other, they had been good friends and she was determined to try and repair that friendship. The past few days, Ethan had been looking at Ellie with puppy dog eyes, but she had chosen to completely ignore him, only ever giving one word answer’s to him when he attempted a conversation with her. They required intervention. As much as she understood Ellie’s point of view, Chloe also recognized the need for unity between pack members, and so she had a plan to ensure their friendship survived the next few years, irrespective of a mate bond or not.

” Why did you insist they come with us? As much as I love our pack members, I need some time alone with Caeser.” Sheba pouted for the millionth time since Chloe had suggested that Ethan and Ellie accompany them on the journey home.

“Get your horny self under control Sheba, seriously, sometimes there are more important things to worry about.” Chloe sighed in frustration at her wolf.

“That is where you are wrong. There is nothing more important than being with your mate, and enjoying each other. With everyone sharing houses and rooms, you have not even mated with Zander for a couple of days. I HAVE NEEDS Chloe!” Sheba argued.

As Zander bent over to pick up the luggage to place in the boot of the car, Chloe let out a soft m**n, as Sheba panted lustfully in her mind.

“I mean just look at his a*s. I mean, it is a fine a*s, the best a*s I have ever seen, and it needs to be squeezed as it thrusts into us.” Sheba protested, her tongue hanging out as she gazed lustfully at her mate.

“Seriously Sheba, you need to calm down, good grief, how are you a royal wolf when all you think about is s*x, s*x and more s*x?” Chloe argued back.

“Dont try and tell me you do not want to ride him like a cowgirl, because you and I both know that you do.” Sheba sighed.

Chloe could not argue against her wolf, she really did want to ride Zander like a cowgirl, now she was feeling a lot like her old self, she really wanted to do all sorts of sexy things with her mate, but still the pack came first, and her horny wolf needed to learn some self-control.

Zander walked round from the rear of the car, seeing his beautiful mate’s eyes dilated and wide with l**t, making his length twitch in his trousers. It was going to be a long journey home, and he could not wait to get her alone again. Opening the door to the car, Zander gently stroked the outline of her bottom as she climbed into the passenger side of the car, and she let out a soft m**n in response, with a satisfied grin on his face, then lent in and whispered softly to her.

“Just wait till I get you home.”

“Eww, I heard that, control yourselves, it is like hearing my mam and dad when they get all naughty with each other!!” Ethan shivered, causing Chloe to giggle slightly.

“Ethan, shut up or you will walk home.” Zander growled out at the young man.

“Sorry.” Ethan hung his head, as Ellie looked at him, then began to snigger behind her hand at him.

Ethan smiled at Ellie, his eyes teasing her, she was laughing at him, and his heart swelled, because this was the first time in forever that she had shown him any attention, and the feeling he got was worth spending hours locked in a car with his horny Alpha and Luna, because he was certain, even if Ellie wasn’t, they would be mates, and he could not wait for the 18 months to pass when he turned 18 so he would know for sure.
