The Headmaster Alpha's Mate
The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 69

Faith pulled her long dark hair up into a high ponytail, smoothing down the creases of her navy blue pencil skirt, she slipped on a pair of low-heeled blue mules with a delicate white flower embroidered into the fabric. Luke came up behind his mate, she was still as beautiful today as the day he met her, his arms circled her small waist where her crisp white blouse tucked into her skirt, placing a soft k**s on his silvery mark on her neck. Faith smiled at her mate in the mirror’s reflection, his handsome face had hardly aged over the years they had been together, his navy blue Armarni suit perfectly matched her own outfit. They were heading into this meeting united, everything about them would scream that they meant business and nothing could be used to try and separate them.

Faith had not really been shocked by the call that had come in from Zander, Amanda Bains, the woman now exposed as one of the council members who was behind the plot against The Crescent Moon, had called this meeting, and even before they had received the call from their Alpha, Faith had discerned the woman was attempting to set a trap.

Amanda was ruthless and dangerous. She held one of the highest positions on the elected council of werewolves, which had not seen an election for over ten years. The woman loved power, and it was believed she was going to orchestrate an attack on the leader of the council, Oswold Court, so that she could take over and rule, dismantling the council and place herself in the overall leader position with nobody to challenge her. She had come from a small pack just outside Pontypridd in Wales, but after an attack from the Ulswater Pack she was its only survivor, and nobody could understand how she had gained so much power and influence. It was rumored that she consorted with witches, that she had spies through all the packs, and she was ruthless in getting what she wanted. Once word reached her that her grip on power would start to slip away now that Chloe was exposed as the rightful queen, Faith knew the woman would do one of two things, have a total b***h fit, destroying everything in her way, or would go silent, whilst she plotted and schemed in the shadows. Out of the two options, Faith could only hope that the toddler-style tantrum was the one she would go for, because a scheming Amanda was far more dangerous than the temperamental outbursts of anger she would sometimes display. Their only saving grace, was that Amanda was not aware that they knew her to be involved, and Faith was hoping that today she could use that to her advantage.

It was the final day they would spend at the council. Faith had already worked tirelessly with those packs who were on the fence about who to support, and each hour they spent there it became more perilous for them. But with this new information, she had to find a way to speak with Oswald, because if Amanda had been plotting against the largest pack in the UK it only strengthened the rumors that she was planning to take over the council and rule over the werewolf kind herself.

“Ready?” Luke asked.

Faith gave a soft smile.

“Yes, this is our only chance to speak with Oswald, before the games. Once we are done, we head home to our Son.” Faith declared,

“Yes, in and out, then home.” Luke agreed.

“Be prepared for anything. We know it is a trap,” Faith cautioned, as they stepped out of their apartment for the last time.

Their allies from the Northumberland pack stood at the edge of the forest, along with the members of the Bilton Pack who had scouts around the area, keeping watch for them. The rest of the ambassadors had already returned to their own lands to prepare for the Interpack games.

“Heads up Faith, she has an unknown person hiding behind a group of trees at the rear left-hand corner of the clearing” Sigmund from the Bilton pack whispered softly.

Luke nodded his head at his mate, then swapped sides so that he was standing at her left in case of any physical attack. Faith and Luke entwined their hands together, then stepped forward into the clearing.

Oswold Court sat on a large ornate high-backed black chair, Amanda stood beside him, her tall slim body covered in a long black sleeveless maxi dress, that even in the colder autumn weather she still wore in order to showcase the welsh dragon tattooed on her upper arm. Her short blond bob was perfectly straight, perfectly complimenting her small, heart-shaped face. She was a stunningly beautiful woman, but her pale green eyes held a look within them that automatically urged caution. She was believed to be around 200 years old, yet still remained mateless. Again, the rumour mill had decided that she had killed her mate on sight when she realised he was an omega wolf, and so now lived with the curse of spending her life alone. Faith did not normally entertain rumours, but in the case of Amanda there were not a lot of facts known, and she would not put it past the power crazy woman to do such a thing.

“Luke, Faith, I am glad you were able to come visit us.” Oswald smiled his greeting.

“Oswald, it is good to see you.” Luke smiled. For all, Oswald was the current leader of the council, he was a fair man, and his decisions had once been well respected. That was until Amanda had risen through the ranks, and got her perfectly polished claws into him in the last few years, and now his commands were left field, and erratic, making a good decision one day only to rescind it the next to replace it with a more questionable one.

“A disturbing rumour has reached our ears, that the new Luna of the Crescant Moon pack is in fact a royal wolf.” Amanda hissed at Faith.

Faith looked at Amanda, and remained silent, wanting to see how this would play out.

“Well, is it true?” She yelled, her voice echoing around the tree’s

“Amanda, you should know by now that I do not deal with rumours or gossip regarding a person. I think you of all people should know better than to repeat them.” Faith smiled.

Amanda stiffened, as Oswald looked at Faith.

“Well said Faith, but you do know we need to have full disclosure on this matter.” Oswald continued to probe.

“Oswald, you will visit the Crescent Moon pack yourself in a few days, where you will see what our Luna is, or isn’t. However, what I will say is that the real reason I have come here today is that we have evidence that someone in the council has been orchestrating rogue attacks on our pack. Also, it has come to light that the same person had two spies and traitors working within the Crescent Moon pack. Daniel Kyle, who also worked as a teacher at the academy, and Duncan Armstrong, who was a former Omega and mated to one of our members. They were placed in our pack by a member of the council. ” Faith declared, whilst Luke kept his eyes fixed on the left-hand corner of the clearing. ,

“I can assure you, no member of the council has brought forward a request to send official spies to your pack, Faith. I am disturbed by this, and will start an internal investigation.” Oswald declared.

Amanda stiffened, her pale green eyes flashing with anger.

“Oswold, if the council members had found out about the allegations of the Crescent Moon withholding information regarding a royal Luna, then they would have sent in someone to check this out.” Amanda coo’ed into Oswalds ear.

“Not without a vote they will not have.” Oswald frowned.

Suddenly, Faith felt a surge of power wash over the clearing, coming directly from the left-hand side of the field, aimed directly at Oswald.

“But of course you are correct, Amanda. If these rumours are true, then of course someone would in fact investigate the claims.”

Faith stiffened, then taking a breath she smiled at Oswald.

“But our Alpha and Luna met only months ago, these wolves were giving information to help orchestrate attacks from long before they ever met.” Faith declared.

“Oh, in that case, that is different” Oswald began, until another surge of power hit from the left-hand side of the field.

Faith glanced at Luke, it was clear Oswald was being controlled, his decisions altered.

“But still, we will need information so it is not illegal.” Oswald changed his words once more.

“Well, I have made you both aware that we are aware of this activity, and if it was indeed approved by the council, I require a full report on when the vote took place, also the reasons we were not consulted, and also a report on how many other council spies you have in all packs across the country.” Luke stated,

Instantly he felt the power coming towards him, and he took a breath. He knew witchcraft could not affect him, and also, because his Luna was the Queen, they had extra protection by the royal b***d line that extended to all pack members.”

Turning towards the left-hand side of the field, Faith shouted.

“SHOW YOURSELF!”

Amanda hissed, as a tussling from behind the tree’s sounded, and the dark shadowy figure ran into the forest, knowing that their power held no authority over Faith and Luke.

Seeing her witch run from the ambassadors from Crescent Moon, Amanda was filled with rage, she needed her to control Oswald, and because it could mean only one thing, that they were protected by royal b***d, and therefore, the new Luna was the Queen, just as Daniel had disclosed to her partner Alpha Stanhope of the Ulswater Pack right before he killed him and his worthless mate. .Rage began to consume her, and she upturned the table infront of them,, then picked up one of the chairs and smashed it to the ground.

Faith and Luke nodded at each other, then shifted and ran into the forest, whilst Amanda threw her tantrum, getting enough distance between them so that they could escape and get home.

Oswald looked at Amanda, his mind now clear from the control it had been under, and slowly the realization dawned on him that this woman beside him was working outside of the council for her own gain. Standing, he growled at her.

“NO!” Oswald shouted, as Amanda looked at him with an evil grin on her face, as she picked up the leg of the chair she had just smashed in pieces and drove it through his stomach, Oswald fell backwards, impaling himself onto the ground, as Amanda shifted, into her light tan wolf and clamped down her teeth, ripping his head clean off his shoulders. Before running at full spread in the direction of Faith and Luke.
