The Daughter Of The Mafia Boss -
Chapter 12
He couldn't even concentrate on his work because he was thinking about Violet Morgan. He was frustrated, because it was what he had wanted but now that he got it he wasn't so sure she was indifferent to him. Dylan stood up, gathered his things and left the classroom... as he walked out of the university he automatically recognized Violet who was walking straight to where he parked his car. And him, he would have to take a m@ldito taxi because that unbalanced woman had destroyed his.
As soon as Violet opened her car door he looked up and saw Dylan walking out of the university, she was so annoyed with him. She clicked her tongue and got into the car, as she flicked the cigarette lighter Violet automatically heard the sound of something very familiar. -Shit," she shouted as she quickly jumped out of the car together as the car exploded.
The shockwave of the explosion sent Violet's body crashing into the door of another car. The car rose a few centimetres off the ground before crashing to the road. Within seconds the university was in an uproar, all the students were running in the opposite direction of the exhibition, but Dylan was not.
As he was on his way to find a taxi, a loud explosion sent him crashing to the ground, and as soon as he got up he looked around for the cause of the thunderous explosion.
-Violet! -He exclaims in a whisper when he sees his car burning in flames, and it was as if his blood froze- Violetaaaaaaaaa- He shouts at the top of his lungs running towards the explosion.
Dylan rushed towards the burning car, but when he was very close to it, a mini explosion caused him to cover his face. He desperately looked for the brunette inside the car but the flames were so powerful that he could barely get close to the car. -Violetaaaaaaaa" he shouted, but got no answer. Then he hears someone coughing behind him, when he turns around he sees her lying on the ground- "Damn it, Violet- He runs towards her to get her out of the heat emanating from the car.
Her ears were ringing loudly, and warm liquid was running down her forehead, soaking her face. Her throat itched so badly that she coughed incessantly, Violet could not get up from the ground as a sharp pain in her back prevented her from doing so. But she could hear the voice of someone calling her without stopping, and that voice sounded worried. She tried to open her eyes but could not. Every attempt to stand up was useless until she felt someone carrying her away from the ground. -Violet, wake up, don't die with a demon," Dylan mumbled loudly as he held her in his arms.
Her mind was blank, she could hear the voice of that person but she didn't recognise who it was. She was so dazed that she didn't even understand what was happening.
-Violet, come on wake up," Dylan lowered her body and laid her down on the grass, by that moment they were practically alone since the university was empty in seconds, "Wake up! Can you hear me? It's Dylan," he said as he wiped the trickle of blood from his nose with his thumb.
-Dylan? -The professor smiled because at last she was answering him.
Was it him? She couldn't believe it, she even thought that maybe it was just a product of the blow she received to the head that made her hallucinate. Why would he want to help her?
-Come on, you have to open your eyes," he urged her just when she heard the sound of the sirens.
-Dylan, is that you? -She tried to open her eyes and all she could see was a blurry figure in front of her.
-Yes, it's me. Don't worry, don't strain yourself.
For a moment she felt a kind of caress on her cheek, was she imagining that too? Her head and body ached so much that she opted to give in to the impending blackout. He fell into deep darkness and the last thing he heard was Dylan's voice pleading with him to wake up.
The paramedics rushed to Dylan's aid as he held a fainting Violet on his lap. As soon as he spotted help he let them do their job, they immediately took the brunette from her arms and lifted her onto a stretcher as they began the task of checking her over. However Dylan did not let go of Violet's hand, he could feel her pulse, it was very weak. The impact of the explosion was very strong, he still didn't understand how she was still alive.
-We must take her to the hospital immediately," said a paramedic.
-What's going on? -Dylan stepped forward before she was loaded into the ambulance.
-A major head injury, and that's what we could detect with the naked eye. She needs x-rays as soon as possible.
-Of course.
Dylan watches her being taken away in the ambulance and without wasting much time tries to find a taxi to follow her. He wouldn't be at ease if he wasn't aware of her. He didn't know what the hell he was doing, the only thing he knew was that he was stepping into the lion's den.
[...]
Minutes after arriving at the hospital he found out that Violet was being treated, he had no choice but to wait in the waiting room for more news... but it didn't take long, as a herd of people entered the room. Nurses, patients, and even doctors and guards were stepping aside so that the group entering the ward could walk unhindered. Dylan recognised the ringleader as Demian Morgan and behind him a battalion he didn't know much about as it was a large family.
Dylan stands up as soon as the group approached him, he knew for a fact that this meeting was not going to end well... as soon as Demian was within inches of him instead of being asked how Violet was doing all Dylan got from the mob boss was a punch right in the mouth. The blow knocked him back a couple of steps and sent him crashing into the metal chair. The Frenchman covered his mouth with his hand, which became soaked with his own blood.
-I told you to stay away from her," Dylan heard the safety on a gun being removed, which led him to look at the most dangerous mobster in existence with a golden gun pointed at his head, "And you will die for it.
-Demian! Stop it, put that gun away for God's sake," exclaims a brunette next to him, yet Dylan doesn't look away from Demian, "This will solve absolutely nothing.
-Stand back, Aurora," he mumbles angrily, but also amazed that the guy seemed so reluctant to his death threat.
-Come on, man, put the gun down. Daniels was the one who spoke behind his back.
-Daniels! What the hell are you talking about? -Amanda exclaims furiously.
-What? What did I say?
-Demian, please, put the gun down." Aurora's tone of voice seemed to calm the mobster, who put the gun away without taking his eyes off Dylan. -Talk now, what the f**k happened?
Dylan wiped the corner of his lip feeling quite angry and frustrated inside, that guy was planning to kill him in a hospital without caring about all the witnesses that might exist. That only spoke to the magnitude of his power. -Violet's car exploded just as she got in, or got in. I still don't know how the accident happened.
-Accident? That wasn't an accident, someone tried to kill my daughter and you call it an "accident."
-And what do you mean by that? -Are you suggesting that I'm to blame?
-You were the last one to drive her car.
That was true, he was the last. After dropping her off at her house he left the car parked near the university, so did they want her or him? She wasn't liking the situation anymore, who was putting each other's lives at risk. -I want you to get out of here and never see my daughter again. Or do you need an incentive to understand," he says, opening his coat to show his weapon. -Maybe Violet should be the one to make the decision if she doesn't want to see me anymore," Dylan confronts Demian.
