The Billionaire's Bite -
Chapter 78
AMANDA'S POV "Please put down the things we bought," I ordered one of our assistants as soon as I got out of the car, I go up to the mansion to rest.
After a while, I felt the presence of a maid and handed over a glass of water. I immediately thanked her and she left immediately. I'm currently sitting here on the balcony and looking at the void, nothing, suddenly the image of a young woman registers in my brain.
I don't know why I can't get the girl Althea introduced to me out of my mind. Suddenly I felt better when I saw her as if someone caressed my heart. I feel like I want to hug her. It sounds crazy but that's how I felt when I saw her. I was even more surprised to know her name. The same as the name of our late daughter Anna.
After a while, Jerson sat next to me. "I know what's bothering you right now..." He said. He held my hand and looked at me.
"Please Jerson, you know how excited I am to see our daughter again."
"Anna has been gone for a long time, we are still there to take her to her final destination. Isn't that enough for us to be quiet and just be happy wherever she is now?"
I was speechless and tears slowly fell from my eyes. Until now, I still can't accept what happened, because I can't feel that my daughter is gone. I always dreamed about her and the corpse that was brought home to us had no face because the firemen said it had been burned, so until now I still hope that she is alive. As the day went by, every time I saw a baby or a child I felt as if it was my child but after a few years, I was frustrated and gradually lost hope.
"Until now I'm not even sure why I don't seem to feel that our daughter is gone, I always dream of her and I feel that she's not dead yet."
"What else do you want to prove Amanda, we have already tested the bone of the corpse and it is a match for us, don't make the situation worse Amanda because I too feel sad every time I remember what happened to our daughter." He answered and immediately wiped the tears that flowed from his eyes.
A few minutes passed and we were enveloped in silence.
"There's only one thing that can calm me down, Jerson..." I stood up and looked into the void.
"Tell me what it is so we can keep quiet," he answered.
"We need to have Althea's friend get a DNA test."
"But how, we just met him earlier Amanda."
"I don't care anymore, Jerson, I know you can solve that. I want to do the test before our daughter's birthday celebration. This is all I ask of you, hon. Please..."
I faced him to see his reaction. He remained calm and thoughtful. After a while, he answered, which relieved me inside.
"I will do my best, hon. For our family."
