The Billionaire's Bite -
Chapter 43
"Why sir?" I asked as I entered Sir Drake's office.
It sat while I remained standing.
"I just want to ask you a favor. My office can be cleaned. I'm feeling dirty," he said.
"It looks clean Sir Drake, but I'll just get the supplies," I replied and quickly left his office to get the supplies.
A few minutes later I returned to his office with the cleaning equipment.
'You may now start," he said.
I immediately started cleaning, I wiped the cabinet first even though there was no dust.
He remained in his seat as he watched me work.
I then wiped the window which I knew was clean.
Later I started sweeping and mopping the floor.
"It's finally over, too," I promised with a smile. I turned to Sir Drake's habit. "It's over Sir Drake," I added.
It grinned and looked at me seriously.
"Go back to your work," he replied. I refused and immediately left his office.
Is he crazy already?
He knew that his office was being cleaned early in the morning. Why did he clean again?
Did he trip me up again?
I can kill that man.
A few hours passed and the sun gradually set as well. It was getting dark all around and the employees started going home.
A few minutes later I thought of going out and going home. If I'm not mistaken Daruel is already downstairs and waiting for me.
I first looked at Drake's office because until now he still hasn't come out since before.
A few more seconds later I thought I had gone down.
I was no longer surprised to see Daruel outside the company. It was leaning against his car while waiting for me.
"Daruel!" I grab his attention. He turned his attention to me and I immediately approached him.
I was shocked when he suddenly hugged me. I just let him go until he broke the hug.
"How's your day?" he asked in surprise.
"It's tiring. Are you?"
"Same, let's go?" he asked. I nodded.
He opened the door for me and soon we left as well.
"Would you like to join me for dinner first?" he asked as his eyes focused on the road. "Sure, why not? You treat?" I replied smiling.
"Sure."
Soon after we arrived at a mini-park. Lots of lights around and also very few people.
I sat on the grass and watched the stars in the sky.
"Mom and dad often take me for a walk here," he said while also staring at the quiet park.
"Very beautiful..." I promised later. The view here is so amazing, the coolness of the air that hugs me.
"Yeah, it's beautiful," he replied. I turned to his behavior and was shocked as he stared at me.
"Ahm... I mean the view," you said and immediately averted your eyes.
'I'm just going to buy something to eat," she said and got up and went to the grocery stores.
I looked at the scene again.
I suddenly remembered Nay Pia and Tay Felix.
/FLASHBACK //
"Anna, come here," Tay Felix called to me cheerfully. He was with Nay Pia in the habit of the cradle.
Helped me sit on Tay Felix's cradle before he returned to his seat.
Nay Pia was there for me because I was happily staring into space.
"Anna... Hold on tight," Tay Felix reminded.
My cradle got stronger and stronger until Nay Pia stopped cradling me.
"You know Anna, that cradle is like human life," Tay Felix later said.
"Why Tay Felix?"
"The cradle is like a life of a human. The cradle of life is strong Anna. If you don't hold on and be encouraged, you will be left behind or you may fall," he replied.
I thought for a moment.
"So you always remember, that in every trial in life. You just always have the courage and just hold on. Because it's not always a problem that will come to you. When you get over a problem, something good will happen to you." I smiled because of what Tay Felix said.
"Oh hey, let's go and go home. I'll cook your favorite food and maybe your Lola Cita is waiting at home," Nay Pia replied.
I nodded. The three of us held hands compassionately walking with smiles on our lips.
// END OF FLASHBACK //
"You're thinking depth huh?" soon Daruel was back in my seat.
He handed me a bowl of popcorn. He laid a cloth on the lawn and put the other food he had bought on it.
All of a sudden he took off his polo shirt and put it on me.
"Thank you," I promised.
'It's nice to watch the stars," he said.
"Yes."
A few more minutes passed and we were enveloped in a deafening silence.
"Anna..." he said later. I turned to him and he looked at me seriously.
"Why?" I wondered.
"Anna... Ahm, I don't know how to start telling you this."
"Which?"
'I know, it's so fast but I feel I r-really l-like y-you," he stutters.
I stared at him and seemed to be statuesque where I am today.
What?
Is he serious?
Omg, god please no.
I knew he was very kind and very perfect. But I am not ready for such things yet.
Grandma Cita said. Think carefully about the decisions you have to make.
But at this point, I can't answer because nothing is obsessing my mind.
I didn't know what to say to him.
When I first looked at Daruel, I knew this man well. He was too perfect to be a boyfriend.
But why is that?
I feel nothing.
Even speeding up my heartbeat is not happening to me.
A few more seconds passed as I just stared at him.
"Ahm... Daruel, I don't know what to say," I replied shyly.
He smiled broadly.
"You don't have to answer. I can only tell you how I feel," he said.
"But why me? There are many others out there who are better than me Daruel."
"Shhshshh. Don't say that, in my opinion, you are so perfect Anna, the first time I saw you on the balcony I will never forget your image. I know that's weird but that's the truth, I think of you almost every day. Then, one day I just woke up wanting you," he explained.
I just kept staring at nothingness.
