The Alpha’s Mute Mate
Episode 66

BROOKE

I watch as Hudson takes charge and starts taking out rogues.

My hands are ignited with a flame and I can feel more energy rippling through me.

A rogue comes charging towards us, Willow takes control, moving our arm in a circle and a swirling fire takes hold of the rogue and it sets him on fire which turns him into ash.

Willow and I look around; everyone is fighting in either human or wolf form. Adonis is in his wolf form ripping rogues apart if they go anywhere near Joe. Joe and my mother are using silver blades on each rogue that comes close, slicing through either their legs or throats. Daisy is protecting my mother.

There are a group of rogues going after a huge black wolf that looks like Asher but it’s older, there are too many of them.

Willow and I start walking towards them, every time a rogue comes near us with one swift of our hand they receive the flame which instantly sets them alight and turns them to ash. Once I am close enough, the black wolf looks back at us with wide eyes but Willow shouts “DUCK” the black wolf does what we say and we move our arms around as the fire swirls around us and we aim for all the rogues that were surrounding him. All the rogues that were set alight are now turning to ash.

The black wolf gets up and looks at me, c*****g his head to the side. We stare back at each other, I smile but the wolf bows to us. I think we were in shock but suddenly a wolf lets out the loudest roar I have ever heard in my life, I stare back and see Asher. He is letting off an aura that is meant for an alpha.

“Mate,” says Willow.

But suddenly there was a loud scream coming from the side, we turned and can see Amy getting chased by a wolf, she has a baby with her. Willow uses my senses and we run straight towards the rogue that is chasing her, “HEY” shouts Willow “I THINK YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET ME.”

The rogue stops in its tracks and turns around snarling at me but licks his lips but all Willow does is smirk at him with her head c****d at him. The rogue charges at us but as soon as he gets closer we jump and land on him. With one touch, he turns into ash.

We land on our feet but we are facing Amy, Willow cracks our neck letting off energy. There is more building up inside us, it feels like we need to let it all out.

Willow and I look at Amy who is smiling back at us “Thank you” she says but her face turns white and she screams again. I turn around and see a lot more rogues surrounding us.

The fire inside me ignites once more but it feels more intense, Willow looks over her shoulder to Amy as we become one with the flame “HIDE” she yells and Amy’s face goes wide but she quickly listens and runs behind a tree holding the baby tight to her chest.

I can feel a change deep within us, something is happening to us.

Willow closes our eyes “Breathe Brooke” she says softly. I have no clue what is happening to us.

I suddenly feel like I’m floating on air. I can see we are still one but we definitely not in human form anymore.

We have shifted into our Phoenix form, the change was painless.

I look through Willows’s eyes, I have no clue what we look like but we are definitely floating up off the ground and everyone including the rogues are staring back at us.

Willow lets out a loud screech!

“We will kill all the rogues,” she says to me.

She flaps her wings and the energy of the flame within us burns brighter as we move towards the sky slightly but suddenly we can see all the rogues have all our loved ones cornered in separate circles.

“We need to kill the circles and end where Hudson is,” I tell her. Willow nods as she lets out another screech and the flame around us lights up as we fly straight around the first circle of rogues. We glide around and touch every single one of them with the tip of our wing setting them alight the rogues howl in pain but within seconds every single one of them is turning to ash.

I can see my mother using hellfire on the ones that are running away from the scene.

We fly straight over to the next circle doing the same; everyone in the circle is running towards any stray rogues that we have missed killing them. The fear running from the rogues is strong but something shiny catches my eye.

“Willow, we need to save Hudson now” I scream as I watch the man hold a sword over Hudson’s head.

There was one more circle to do but suddenly there was another charge of light coming from the side of me. My mother shifted into her phoenix.

Willow flies straight towards the circle that’s holding Hudson but before I can do anything “Don’t touch my followers” snarls the man.

“Change back into human form” he shouts as Willow hoovers overhead as there are five men holding Hudson and more are holding Beta Logan, Rex and Shane back. They are trying to get to Hudson.

“Come child we haven’t got all day” the man snarls as he pulls a sword from behind him.

Willow hisses “If that sword goes anywhere near mate, he will die,” she says to me.

I can feel tears prick behind my eyes. I watch as the man edges closer to Hudson “I will kill him” he says.

“Willow would the sword kill us,” I ask her softly.

Willow stares back at me “No why do you ask?” She asks with a questioning tone.

“Do you trust me?” I ask her.

Willow stares back at me, trying to figure out what I’m thinking of doing.

I know what we must do. All this is because of us, we are never meant for this world. I look towards the clearing where everyone is trying to get to us but more rogues are coming through the forest we can sense them.

I sigh.

I look at Willow and tell her what we are going to do.

Willow stares back “We might not be able to heal much quicker and we don’t know how long it will take for us to resurrect from that,” she says staring back at me.

“I know but would you rather know that Hudson is alive waiting for us,” I tell her.

Willows looks startled but then a smile forms on her face.

“Let’s do this,” she says.

We start to descend to the ground and close our eyes; I land on the ground with my feet firmly on the ground.

I open my eyes and stare back at the man who has a sword to my mate’s neck. I walk to him as there are growls but some pack members are shouting and screaming as more rogues are holding them back.

“Well my child you are a sight’ he says “Too think I was making them pathetic humans torture you to get you to reveal yourself to me.”

I don’t say a word but look at Hudson. His eyes are on me, they never leave me.

I stand right in front of him but stare at the man.

Willow comes through slightly “You want us” she hisses at him “Let mate go.”

The man laughs loud “No can do sweetheart, he is the key to you.”

We c**k our head to him “Why do you care about him and want him dead?” she says.

The man looks at us “He is your mate. Isn’t he?”

We nod.

“Well he must die,” he says and holds the sword up.

“I was wondering if I could talk to mate first,” Willow says.

The man looks back stunned “You want me to kill him” he says but his face turns sore “You lie.”

Willow hisses more “We don’t want mate,” she says, we can see the look of hurt in Hudson’s eyes “We will kill mate and we will leave together.”

I can hear loads of growls at what we just said; I can see Joe looking back at me with concern.

I use my fingers to communicate with him; he looks at my fingers as Willow keeps this nut job at bay.

Once I finish what I have said to Joe, I take one last look and he looks upset and starts charging into the rogues, he must have told Adonis as he is trying to get through the rogues as well.

Willow takes a closer step closer to Hudson and leans into his ear “Wait for us” she whispers in his ear to him.

With that, Willow moves to the side and grabs the sword from the man who now startles. He moves back in shock and shifts into a huge brown mattered wolf. We hold the sword as he comes charging towards us.

Willow screeches come through as we grab hold of the wolf but the sword is too heavy for us to pick up, the man shifts back into his human form and he drives the sword through us. I gasp for breath as the sword hits through my body.

There was a roar coming from behind, but Willow in her final attempt to make sure every single rogue is killed. She bursts into flames and takes every single rogue including the man with us.

No one will hurt my family.
