Episode 29

BROOKE

We have been traveling for hours but came to a deserted airport.

I look at her, but she smiles “I contacted a cousin of mine, he has a pack abroad. We can stay with him. We will be boarding a private jet that he has” she says.

Just then, a small size jet comes in and land.

The door opens with steps attached to it. A man walks down them and looks around like he is waiting for someone.

Daisy steps out of the car, I follow. We grab our bags and head towards the plane, the man that is standing at the bottom, turns and starts to smile at Daisy “Ah my cousin, you made it and this must be Brooke, Daisy has told us about” he says in a weird accent.

I look between them as they hug each other. He offers me his hand to me to shake, which I do.

“Come, let’s go. When we arrive, the sun will be up and it will be warm” he says, turning to walk back up the steps. We follow him up the plane.

The plane is small but it only has a few seats darted around. It looks like a private jet from some of the famous movies. There is no one else on the plane just the three of us and the two pilots.

Once we were seated and took off, “Brooke are you ok” Daisy says, I look at her and smile but nod.

“You’re quiet” says the man but Daisy turns “Ah cousin, Brooke can’t speak due to an accident she had when she was young”

He gives me a sympathetic look “Well, I must teach you to sign, it would be a good way to communicate with people” he says with a smile.

I nod and mouth “Thank you”

He grins “My name is Adonis, sorry for not introducing myself. It has been a long time since I have been back here but we will be in the pack soon” he says.

I look at Daisy “Where are we going?”

She smiles “Adonis has a small pack in Spain; he has been living here for six years. He is the alpha, he took over from my uncle three years ago” she says hesitantly, turning to look at Adonis who has a smile plastered on his face.

“Yes you have it right cuz, I have been an alpha for three years. Spain is gorgeous this time of year” he says.

I look out the window, Willow coming close to see out as well “It looks so beautiful outside” she says, she feels content.

“What are you?” asks Adonis, which gets Willow and my attention.

Willow is close, so he can tell she is there but I’m still in control.

I shrug my shoulders.

“Brooke only found out she has a counterpart, Willow” Daisy says, I smile at her.

“But what is…….” Daisy doesn’t let him finish “You keep cutting me off; you don’t get all the facts. Willow and Brooke don’t know. Willow said they will come together when the time is right.”

Adonis looks on and stares at me which makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

I close my eyes and Willow steps closer “Can you stop looking at my human please? says Willow who startles Adonis which makes Daisy smirk.

“Adonis I would like you to meet Willow” Daisy says, introducing her.

Willow smiles.

“Your eyes are black” he says.

Willow chuckles.

“How can you talk but not Brooke?” He asked inn awe of Willow.

Willow sighs “I am her counterpart, I have my own mind and voice like you and your wolf do. I can’t tell you what I am as I’m still trying to figure it out myself but also I will know what we are when the time is right” she says.

I have been wearing a hoodie since I left, my body is getting hot.

Willow takes off the hoodie.

Adonis eyes go wide but looks away.

Crap my scars.

“You noticed the scars then” she says to him, which makes him turn to face her.

“The scar on her neck is due to something in her childhood but the rest” she says “Brooke was abused by some very horrible people, people who pretended to be her family. She has more. She will show you them but it is her decision. It is her body after all. But I would like you to not stare as I will come forward and when I do you won’t win wolf. Brooke” she says.

She closes her eyes and I am pushed forward.

“Thank you Willow, you didn’t have to do that” I tell her, but she shakes her head “No need Brooke, I am your half and we are as one. I will protect you.”

I look at Adonis who is now smiling at me “Very impressive Brooke”

I smile.

But he looks at my arm that has been in the same cast since I woke up in Daisy’s pack. No doctor has checked it since the last time I was in the hospital.

He looks at my arm in the cast “We will get the pack doctor to take that cast off; I think everything might be healed by now.”

I give him a big smile as I have been waiting for ages for someone to take this stupid thing off.

After what seemed like hours, after eating and even falling asleep. We finally land back on the ground.

As we step outside, the sun hits us and the warm air runs along our arms.

Daisy takes a deep breath in closes her eyes and lifts her face to feel the sun on her face.

“I love this place” she says as she opens her eyes and looks at me. But before she walks, she takes my arm then we head down the steps. A car is waiting for us.

Adonis looks at the man standing there “Lou this is my cousin Daisy and her friend Brooke, they are staying with us for a while” he says, Lou looks at both of us and smiles “It is so nice to finally meet you both.”

Both Daisy and I smile at him as he opens the door for us to climb into the car. We both slide in as Adonis and Lou enter the front.

Lou drives away; we head out onto the road. The scenery here is breathtaking once we are off the highway. The sun is out and the sea glistens in the far corner. No one talks as we take it all in.

“We won’t be too long and we will be at the pack ladies” says Lou.

Daisy smiles and I nod.

I look towards the two men in the front and notice how close they are together.

“They are mates” says Willow suddenly in my head.

“Adonis is the main alpha of the pack and Joe is his bodyguard, well that’s what their wolves say” she says.

Joe is looking at me through the mirror and smiles “Your counterpart is very impressive Brooke.”

“Thank you” I mouth, he looks at me. There is some kind of emotion in his face but I don’t know what it is. But his face goes blank for a bit.

“Adonis is telling him all about you,” Willow says as she looks on “They are amazing.”

She seems impressed with them. I wonder why.

Joe looks at me, smiles but doesn’t say anything.

After an hour, we arrive on the grounds of the pack. There are 100 members; Adonis gives us the history of the pack as we drive through the door.

“My uncle became the alpha of this pack when he started to realize that some packs would not allow same s*x mates be together, bearing in mind this was years and years ago. He wanted to form one as your counterpart Willow told you Lou and myself are mates. My father wanted to protect wolves that were shunned due to anything not just their sexuality. Some even been abused by their families and priers” he says.

I smile; I think I am going to like it here.

Daisy takes my hand into hers “This is the best place for you Brooke” she says with a smile.

I nod in agreement.
