The Alpha’s Mute Mate
Episode 15

HUDSON

I had to leave the room; Daisy was going nuts in my head through mind link, wanting to see Brooke.

As soon as I got out of Brooke’s bedroom and went into my room, I shifted back. I glanced at the joining room. I was right next door to Brooke’s room.

I quickly got in the bathroom and showered. I made sure I wasn’t too long, and once I was out, I got changed.

I left my room and headed downstairs to the lounge, where I found my mother and father with Lesley, Jackson, Alanna and Beta Logan.

My mother turns to me and smiles. “It seems Brooke has taken a shine to Asher,” she says. I noticed the smirk on her face.

I smiled back, and I felt happy that she had taken to my wolf. I could feel Asher feeling happy too.

“How was last night?” asks Jackson, sensing his worry about his daughter; it hits me hard.

“She was fine; she did wake up once but soon fell asleep again,” I said.

“She seems to be coming around a bit, Jackson. I would give her some time, and she may want to see you,” says my mother.

Jackson smiled at her; it seemed to be giving him some hope, knowing there was a chance with Brooke.

Suddenly I hear, “Hudson Morris,” says a squeaky voice behind me.

Oh crap, why is she back?

I don’t turn around.

Kelsey comes straight over to me, turns me around, and plants a k**s on my mouth, but I am soon hit with the vanilla scent. I tried to move away, but I was too late; Brooke stood in the lounge doorway with Daisy. She looks at everyone, but her eyes land on me for a brief moment, which makes me what to move over to her.

Daisy lets a growl slip, and I could feel her eyes piercing a hole into me.

I couldn’t help but take Brooke in, and she looked stunning. Brooke is wearing a dress that was making my mouth water.

Asher was pissed and started growling in my head when Kelsey kissed me, but as soon as he saw our mate, especially in that dress, he howled like a horny dog.

“Who is that?’ says Kelsey, pulling me from my thoughts. I glanced over at her, and her eyes were set on Brooke. I looked back at Brooke, who didn’t say anything, not even her mouth opened; she just looked at her.

“Brooke, you came…..” my mother starts to say, but Brooke starts to back away from the doorway, turns around, and runs away. Daisy looks toward her friend and follows after her.

“What a weird girl?” says Kelsey, making my mother and Jackson growl loudly towards her.

Kelsey looks shocked and taken back, but my father speaks next. “What the hell are you doing here? I thought you were never coming back,” he says with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

Kelsey was sent away by my father to another pack to find her mate as she wouldn’t leave me alone. Judging by this, she is still the same and hasn’t found her mate.

“Oh Alpha, the b***d moon pack was supposed to call you about my return. I didn’t find my mate there, so they sent me back,” she says calmly.

Alpha Josh was happy to help; he would have called. Something is up here.

I opened a mind link to my father, “Dad, phone Alpha Josh, see what he has to say,” I said.

“What about her? She won’t leave you alone,” he says. “You need to be with Brooke.”

“I will sort something out, and I will make sure Kelsey is dealt with, but you need to contact Alpha Josh now,” I said.

My father shuts down the mind link and turns toward everyone.

“I will be off; I need to be in my office,” says my father. He glares at Kelsey, but she just smiles back at him.

Her perfume is horrendous; it hurts my nose, and I can’t help but scrunch my nose up.

Kelsey turns to me and smiles.

“Come Hudson, tell me everything I have missed since I’ve been away,” she says, trying to sound sexy.

“Hudson,” says Jackson warns. “What about…….”

But Kelsey cuts him off. “He’ll be back; we need to catch up first,” she says.

Jackson growls, but Kelsey grabs me by the hand, and we leave the packhouse.

Once we are outside, Kelsey pulls me to the clearing by the forest entrance, where there is a log that was torn down. She moves toward it and sits, but I stand a few feet away from her.

“I think we need to talk about your mate,” she says.

I looked back at her, stunned. How the hell would she know about Brooke? She had only just walked through the packhouse moments ago, and not only that, I hadn’t announced her to the pack yet.

How the hell…..but before I could say anything, there was a smirk on her face. “Oh, you didn’t think I would find out. Alpha Josh told me all about your mute little human mate.”

But something clicked in my head. I only told the alpha’s a few days ago to help in the search to find them, damn humans. He wouldn’t have told her, would he?

I growl.

“I wouldn’t do that if I was you alpha, my alpha,” she says as she stands up. “Remember that night? I left when we f****d hard against that tree,” she says, pointing to a tree. “That was the night I conceived your child.”

I look back at her blankly; we f****d, but we never…

“Oh, you have come inside me many times, Alpha,” she says with a smirk. “Now, you will make me your Luna, and that mute is leaving.”

I glared at her. “Why would I do that?” I snarled at her, catching her off guard.

“Well, we don’t want that mate of yours to find out, don’t we?” she says. “Also, by law, if a werewolf, especially when an alpha gets a she-wolf pregnant, he takes her as his mate.”

I look back at her. “That’s bullshit, and we never did anything. I certainly didn’t come inside you,” I snarled back. Asher’s on the verge of ripping her out.

“Funny, I know your father abides by the law. Alpha Josh knows about it, and I bet he is telling your father now,” she says with a smile.

After a few seconds, my father’s voice comes through the mind link. “You better get your arse in this office now,” he roars.

I glared at her, but I knew I needed to get to the office to sort this s**t out.

I ran back, leaving Kelsey where she was.

How the f**k did that happen?

I never went anywhere near any other she-wolfs; she was the first, only because I was drunk. We did hook up, but that was at the beginning. But that was years ago; she started to follow me around and stalk me, turning up at places I was; I had to ask my father for his help.

I went straight into the office; I didn’t have time to think as my father grabbed me and threw me over the couch. “You stupid boy, you got her……” he says, but I stop him. “It’s not mine dad. It can’t be; it happened long ago,” I shouted back.

He looks at me. “But she is claiming…..”

“I KNOW WHAT SHE IS CLAIMING. I NEVER WENT NEAR HER BEFORE SHE LEFT, NOT EVEN WHEN I FOUND HER IN MY ROOM THAT NIGHT,” I shouted. “I DON’T SLEEP WITH ANY SHE-WOLVES DAD, ASK REX.”

My father looks back at me blankly, obviously, mind linking someone. But a few seconds later…Rex walks in.

“Did this i***t ever sleep with Kelsey?” asks my father through gritted teeth.

Rex looks taken back by the question, but he recovers quickly. “Alpha, Hudson never went near her, only once when he was drunk. You gave me a command to never let them near her as he knew she was trouble. I was always with Hudson. He only slept with human girls anyway,” he says.

“Why human girls?” my father looked at Rex, ignoring me.

“Hudson thought it would be a good idea as they wouldn’t cause any problems for us as they never knew what we were,” he says.

My father looked at me. “Alpha Josh, did you hear everything?”

“Yeah, that b***h lied to me,” says Alpha Josh.

I was shocked to hear Alpha Josh talk; I didn’t even realize he was on the speakerphone either.

“What do you mean?” I asked suddenly, coming to my senses.

“Alpha Hudson, god damn it, she has a mate!” He snarls. “They were happy for a while until word got out that you were looking for the humans who tortured your mate. She started acting differently. They only mated but never marked each other,” he says. “She rejected him three days ago; I have been looking for her since. Her mate is my brother Todd.”

“You do realize that she is claiming that I’m that baby’s father,” I said with a snarl.

Alpha Josh is silent. “I think we can sort this out, but you need to play a game with her,” he says suddenly. “Todd and I will make our way to you.”

“We will come to you and sort this matter out in person,” he says. “Don’t touch her, though.”

“Why would I touch her,” I said through gritted teeth. “She was the pack’s slut. I only went near her once. If she is with anyone, it won’t be with me. I’m trying to be with my mate.”

“Alpha Hudson, I know what Kelsey is like and was like back in your pack as she was like it here. Keep her busy; we will be with you soon,” says Alpha Josh as he hangs up the phone.

My father looks at me. “We need to make sure she never goes anywhere near Brooke,” he says. “She will make her life hell.”

I know what Kelsey was like before; she made everyone’s life hell, especially if a girl ever showed interest in me.

She knows about Brooke, and I need to protect my mate.
