The Alpha's Exchanged Mate -
The Alpha’s Exchanged Mate – Chapter 125
Authors POV…
Edwina chuckled at the sight of Becca, “you look so alive. Is there something you aren’t telling me?” She teased.
Becca rolled her eyes, “whatever is it do you mean?”
“Whatever it is that you think I meant.”
She blushed hard, “please don’t tease me further, Luna.”
Smirking as they both stepped onto the stairs walking down to the door. “Since we had that tea this morning, you seem different.”
“Just thought to be happy and content with where I am now with life.”
“That’s a good one, though. So, what exactly are you hiding in those bags?”
Putting it behind her, “it’s just some scones and muffins.”
“Hmmn, sounds like some nice brief date.”
Becca shrugged, not faltering in her admission. “I miss him, that’s all. It’s been long since I last saw him.”
“I love how bold you are. I should learn from you.” Edwina noted as she stepped into the car.
Shaking her head lightly, Becca got into the front seat next to the driver as they headed out of the packhouse. Edwina had decided to take food to the men, who had been working endlessly for a whole night.
Using that as an opportunity to see Caleb, she had made some scones and muffins before actually making a call to see if he would love to have them. As she had expected, he loved the idea and couldn’t wait for her to get them to him. Her heart fluttered a bit when she remembered him saying he missed her.
Resting her head against the car window, she sighed deeply. The conversation she had with Edwina in the early hours of the morning made her realize that life has no guarantee and she could only live in the present. To think that she had dreamt of spending a lifetime with her precious husband, only for death to snatch him away from her. She loves Caleb, but she couldn’t let her feelings get in the way of their friendship and also his happiness.
It hurt to see him in the arms of another woman, but she still couldn’t deny the fact that she wanted him so bad.
Her body jolted in nervous triggers; it had been long since they had last met and talked. Yet, seeing him always brought a level of peace to her.
She had been thinking of excusing herself from the packhouse to say a brief hello to him. Still, Edwina raced her to it and suggested they should head down to the alpha’s office to provide some food.
Her excitement mounted as the car got closer to the office premises. For the first time in a long while, she was giving herself a chance to live freely.
“You should go to him. I will handle myself just fine with the alpha and the rest of them.” Edwina told Becca as they stepped into the elevator.
“Won’t you need to give Carlos and Jason food too?” Becca asked, feeling uncomfortable with neglecting her duties.
Edwina chuckled, “you worry yourself too much. I will be just fine.”
“Thank you then,” Becca smiled widely.
The ding of the elevator informing them of their arrival on their intended floor had them stepping out smiling as they each went sideways.
Bumping into a hard wall, Becca almost missed her step.
“I’m so sorry, miss. You okay?” Carlos asked as he helped recover from the hit.
“I’m…” Becca paused, realizing it was just Carlos. “Oh, it’s you, Carlos. How are you?”
Hugging her tightly, “Becca! I didn’t realize it was you. Why are you here?”
Raising the paper bag in her hand, “the luna said to bring some nice homemade lunch to you all.”
Carlos smacked his lips, “that sounds yummy.”
“You should go check with the secretary. I’m sure she dropped yours, and Jason’s there.” She informed him.
“Oh wow, that’s so thoughtful of the Luna. I should go get myself a portion before Jason gobsmacks everything.”
Becca chuckled, “you are something, Carlos. See you around.”
Hugging her briefly, Carlos was about to run off when he turned around again. “Why are you heading towards Caleb’s office?”
She looked shy all of a sudden, “hmm… There is a special delivery for him.”
Nodding his head a little, “oh okay, see you around.”
Becca felt her cheek go hot. She didn’t know what she was supposed to say when he asked her the question. It would have been so embarrassing to admit carrying some food and muffins to Caleb when she could have just dropped it with the secretary.
Thinking of the secretary, it struck her that Ramona was the secretary. As much as she was in no feud with Ramona, they both are polite around each other. However, the feeling of Ramona taking the one man she loves didn’t sit quite well with her.
Ignoring the thoughts aiming to ruin her mood, Becca neared the door. Her wolf sense picked up as she neared the door. Her nose turned up to figure out the smell; she could bet it was an intense s*x smell. Their arousal was strong.
Becca smirked at whomever they were, acting naughty on work premises. Knocking lightly, she didn’t stop to listen before opening the door. Her eyes whirled out in shock when she saw Caleb’s hands raking through Ramona’s back as she slid up and down his d**k. Their m***s were falling into the same rhythm.
She could feel her heart stop at the sight, “oh my….. I’m so sorry.” She managed to say, her heart racing, unable to figure out what she was meant to do.
Closing her eyes tightly, Becca dropped the paper bag and ran out the door. Trying to catch her breath.
“F**k!” Caleb muttered, raising an unconcerned Ramona off, who was still ramming her p***y on his already tired d**k.
“What the….” She said, staring at him wide-eyed. Caleb had carried her off him, struggling to zip himself back up. “Why would you do that?”
Ramona looked pissed, feeling embarrassed at the act.
Caleb licked his dry lips, “I am sorry, Ramona. I promise to make it up to you, but right now, I need to find Becca.”
Not sparing her a glance, Caleb bolted out the door, trying to find Becca.
