Taken By The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 50
The next morning, Elizabeth woke up a lot better than she was the previous day. She hated to admit it but the treatment Asher had given her yesterday helped her a lot. She couldn’t help but think about how gentle he was which was a far cry from how he behaved normally, reminding her that he was only following Eva’s instructions.
“You’re awake” Asher said, walking out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around his narrow waist while he uses another to towel his hair dry.
Elizabeth sat up despite the plans she had in mind to make him carry her to the bathroom. Thinking about it alone was enough to make her smile.
Asher saw the smile on her face and wonder what’s about. “What’s with the smile?”
“Nothing” she said with a shrug before scooting towards the edge of the bed even further.
“It’s a good day, I will like to go out. I have been stuck in this room for days now” She quickly added.
Asher stopped in death in his tracks at her mention of the out doors. He said nothing to reply her though as he continued to towel his wet hair dry. Even though he said nothing, Beth could tell from his demeanor that he was about to turn her down.
“You won’t say anything?”
“What do you want me to say? You already know how i feel about you going outside” Asher snapped.
“Well, I don’t care, i just want to go outside for a change” Elizabeth yelled right back.
What started out as a simple question was quickly morphing into something else and Beth was far from backing down from all of it.
“Can you be reasonable for a minute!’’ Asher seethed in his Alpha voice
At the sound of his voice, she flinched back in fear as she sat staring at him like he was a complete stranger. When he was angry, he was a completely different person.
Asher, seeing the way he scared her, sighed before going over to sit beside her. The last thing he wanted to do was make her feel scared but that morning, he had done so without meaning to.
“I’m sorry I yelled at you, Elizabeth but I need you to stay here. I know it’s crazy for me to want to keep you here but it’s the only way I can keep you safe”
“You want to keep me safe or keep me from escaping. If that’s the case then you can be sure I’m not going to try to run off. I just need some sunlight regardless of what you might think”
“Alright fine. But first you need to shower and get ready. I will be back to take you” He said after a short while and she reached over and wrapped her arms around him before she could stop herself.
Asher was tensed for a moment before he patted her on the back gently.
Beth finally realized what she had done quickly pulled away from him, “I’m sorry”
“It’s fine” He said with a small smile tugging at his lips before pushing himself back on his feet and moving towards the wardrobe to change.
He pick up a black jogger and a tshirt and shrug them on before stepping out of the room without another word. Elizabeth couldn’t quite believe what she had done but she was happy with his acceptance regardless.
Elizabeth rose to her feet, walking towards the bathroom to take a bath and got ready just like he had instructed. Her bump was getting bigger and walking proved to be a bit difficult.
When she was done, she got dressed up in one of the gown he got her and stood in front of the mirror admiring herself before Asher walked in and saw her.
Asher had a look of indifference on his face as he looked at her before his eyes moved downward and settled at her growing bump. His gaze linger around there for another minute more before it darted back to stare at her face.
“You ready?”
“Yup. All dressed” Beth announced happily as she moved to stand before him.
Asher sighed, before nodding at her.
He had already agreed to accompany her outside and he can’t go back on his words now especially with that look in her eyes. Turning her down would only dampen her mood even more and he is not sure if he has the energy to deal with that.
She stared at him with a small smile on her face as though making it impossible to try to convince her otherwise.
“Are you sure you want to do this?”
“Yes please. I mean, it would only be for a short while”
“Okay but I don’t want you to get hurt”
“As long as you’re with me, I won’t get hurt” She said firmly before taking hold of his hand and startling him as well as his head snapped back to look at her hand in his.
The way she said it told him of a blind trust only a child would have for its guidance and in this case, maybe that was the case. Elizabeth have had him in a tight corner with the elders lately and he can’t help but feel the absolute need to protect.
**
To say that she was enjoying every moment spent outside would be an understatement, Elizabeth was happy. The hot outdoor was what she had always wanted to feel on her cheeks and she was glad she was finally enjoying it.
Asher on the other hand was beginning to warm up to her. He watched everything she did and found satisfaction in the littlest things she did such as touching the flowers, breathing in the warm air that left her smiling. Elizabeth was a ball of fun but he can’t help but feel giddy around her.
He glances at the tree line and then back at her. The sun would be setting soon.
“We’ll have to go back inside, the sun will set soon” Asher said quietly and she nodded.
“I know but I want to watch the sun set before we do”
Asher was skeptic about it but he agreed either way. “Okay fine”
Beth smiled and began to move towards the garden once again.
Just before they settled down in the garden, Izzy came in with a basket of fresh fruits, directly plucked from the orchard.
“Here you go” Izzy said before turning to greet the Alpha, “Greetings, Alpha”
Asher only acknowledged her with a nod.
“Thank you’’ Elizabeth said with a smile and Izzy gave her a smile back before walking away.
Just about then, Alex walked towards them with a small smile on his face. Elizabeth was delighted to see him because this was the first time she was seeing him after many weeks.
“Hey Alex” She expressed with a smile on her face.
Asher’s Beta smiled, bowing slightly. He was glad to see Elizabeth and he was quite happy to know that at least they weren’t at each other’s throats. In fact, they were really relaxed with each other, something that he found quite odd considering the fact that Asher always has something to complaint about.
“How are you doing Beth?’ Alex asked.
“I’m fine” Elizabeth smiled.
Asher excused himself for a moment, going over to talk to Alex at a corner of the garden leaving her to herself.
She sighed and began to eat her basket of fruit.
While Asher and his Beta talked by the corner, she relaxed even more, watching as the cloud change from its usual bright blue to an orange hue, indicating a sunset.
Her head snapped to look behind her when she felt as though she was being watched but saw no one. Maybe she was being paranoid.
What could possibly happen with Asher and his Beta so close by. She pushed the thought away and relaxed even more.
