Taken By The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 30
“Please Izzy, I just want to know how it’s happened. I have been taunted enough not to know how it really happened” Beth voice begged once again and the young girl let out a sigh before turning away from her.
“I don’t know how the Luna die. We only know she was out in the wood one day before the Alpha got news that she was being hunted by that man that turned out to be your father and he went out to find her only to return with her death body in his arms. It was really a sad day for all of us here in the pack and a lost we couldn’t forget. Our Luna was such a kind soul and always helpful to everyone. Why anyone would kill her in cold b***d is still not clear to me but like my mother use to say, no one can understand a heart that is filled with evil because it’s always seeking to destroy everything good within its radar”
Izzy words hung heavy on her chest as fresh tears start to stink her eyes. Even though she never met the woman in question, Beth could tell from the way Izzy spoke about her that she was good and didn’t deserve to die the way she did. No one deserve to be hunted like an animal until killed in cold b***d. No wonder Asher was hell bent on hunting her that night. It was his way of paying her back. A tooth for a tooth with an eye for an eyes. Beth could suddenly understand his motives now as tears began to slip down her cheek.
“Hey, hey, don’t cry. It wasn’t your fault Beth. You didn’t kill her so don’t cry” Izzy cooed as she had her arms wrapped around her body tightly.
Sniffing back her tears, she peered back to stare at her, “Your words are kind Izzy but not everyone believes am blameless around here. They all want me death” She said matter of fact and Izzy swallowed hard, no longer sure of what to say to contradict that very thought because deep down, she knew it to be the truth. Beth might be innocent but her bloodline had already been condemned long ago by her kind and it would take only a miracle for her to be seen differently.
Pulling away from her, Izzy shook her shoulders playfully with a smile. “You have to cheer up, don’t forget your mood can also affect the baby”
Beth agreed with a nod before wiping her cheeks clean with the back of her hands and then move back to sit against the sofa. After eating her breakfast of mostly fruits and warm milk. She relaxed against the sofa while Izzy went back to continue her duty around the camp.
