Taken By The Demon Alpha -
Chapter 19
“That’s where you are wrong brother. I don’t have to prove anything to you or anyone else. Now go back to your pack and prove whatever you must to everyone there and leave me the f**k alone” Asher turned to walk away, stopping only to give his Beta signal to move and Alex quickly sweep Beth’s shivering form into his arms and began to head for the exit but paused midway when they heard Jax voice yet again.
“You are right Asher. You don’t have to prove anything to me but you have everything to prove to the council of elders and I will like to announce to you dear brother that, as we speak, they are already on their way here and should be arriving about” Pulling his wrist slightly to glance at his leather watch, he smiled, “About now, so get ready to explain why you are defending a bloody Lincoln”
When Asher didn’t respond to his brother’s statement for an awkward amount of time, Beth dared a glance at his direction and found his hands balled into tight fist by his side. His gaze was intensely fixed on his brother who has nothing but smile on his face.
One second Asher was standing there and the next he was pinning his brother against the wall. “What the f**k have you done!” He growled while baring his canine at him.
“I only did what you didn’t have the balls to do yourself, little brother” Jax hissed back before grabbing at Asher wrists in a bid to break out of his hold.
Sounds of alarm going off outside the walls confirmed Jax earlier statement. “And that would be them. You better hurry out to meet them before they think you are hiding away”
“This betrayal won’t be left unforgiven brother, mark my word”, Asher threatened before he leaned away from his presence, his dark eyes burning through Beth still cuddle in Alex’s arm making her feel like she was losing all ability to breathe once again.
On his way out towards the exit, Asher stop by them for a moment, not paying them another glance.
“Take her to your room and wait for my command” He said firmly before moving out the door with his brother closely behind him.
Beth could feel her heart pulsing rapidly in her chest as she peered up to stare back at Alex who was back on his feet.
“Let see how you save her this time, Alex” Kara hissed with spite as she went hurrying after the two brothers like some nosy housefly.
“Stupid bitch” He cussed under his breath, his expression seem to be giving away nothing as he carried her in his arms toward the direction of his room.
“He is going to kill me tonight is it not?” Beth threw the question at him the moment she was lowered against the chair in his room.
Moving to the bathroom, he returned with the first aid box and began to clean her up without saying another word to reply her question.
“Tell me the truth, Alex. I can take it” She yelled, pulling her arm away from his hold.
Sighing in frustration, Alex looked up to stare back at her burning gaze. “You are simply going to be judged by the elders and if found guilty of the offenses you are being accused of then you will be_”
“_killed?” Beth finished for him and he simply exhaled a breath.
“But I don’t want to die. I..I haven’t done anything to deserve any of these. This is not fair and you know it” fresh tears start to pool in her eyes yet again as she stared at Alex.
“I don’t know what you want me to say but that’s just how things are around here and your situation just got worst with the arrival of the elders. I’m afraid you are going to have to prove your innocence before them somehow or you already know how it’s going to end” he said matter of fact-ly, not attempting to sugarcoat anything and further sending more chills down her already shivering spine.
“Asher might be the Alpha of the pack but he still answer to the council as they are the authority around here. They help to maintain law and order among neighboring packs and when decision that needs to be addressed are starting to look like it’s being undermined, they get to step in”
“Wait, when you say undermined, how do you mean?” Beth questioned, her eyes narrowing back at Alex.
“Jax feels his brother was having a second thought about getting rid of you so he called them” He gave her a solemn look and she let a drop of tear slipped.
Beth could tell Asher’s brother was enjoying her whole ordeal more than she can comprehend. Or maybe it’s just like he said, he could be looking out for his brother against a bloody Lincoln after all even though she is absolutely harmless.

Beth was led by Alex into a larger hall moment later within the same building, filled with older men and women seated in rows while other pack members gathered as well.
All she saw was hatred and hateful glares while she is being led to stand in the centre of all the glaring. Jax sat in their mist with a satisfied grin on his face while Asher stood at the middle, his expression darker than ever.
With hitched breath and shaky knees, Alex led her to stand directly under the bright light before moving away to stand beside Asher.
Suddenly alone and directly under the glare of everyone else, Beth couldn’t help but wish for the ground to open up and swallow her whole but it didn’t and one of the elders cleared his throat slightly causing her to gasped in fright before looking back at his direction.
The man seating in the middle look frightening to say the least with dark brown hair and equally dark eyes that seem cold and devoid of emotions. Just by looking at the man’s face, Beth was sure her fate had already being sealed and nothing she says or does would make her walk free tonight.
Absolutely nothing.
The longer she was left standing in the middle of the room with noisy whispers here and there, the more her anxiety grew. The elder who seem to be the head of the judging council cleared his throat once again, throwing the room into a quiet abyss.
Beth was left holding her breath once more, suddenly afraid to let out the same breath she didn’t realize she was holding in.
“Elizabeth Lincoln, you stand here tonight in place of your father whose crime against one of our own is unforgivable” He began, his voice a deep blend of evil with promises of dark things underlying each sound he uttered.
“Before anything else, you will be allowed to explain yourself to the council before punishment is deemed” He ended in a sudden manner before turning to his far right to face Jax.
“The brother of the offended has volunteered to take the stand to interrogate the accuse as dined fit”
Jax curtsied a little and springing up to his feet eagerly before moving towards her. The look on his face told her all that she needed to know.
Promise of torture.
