The next morning came just as quickly, with rays of sunlight waking her up from a deep slumber as it shines through the thick grey curtains that hung heavily across the glass window. She blinked a few times, trying to adjust to the bright light against her face before she rolled over on her side.

The awful aches she felt all over her body were minimal as compared to last night. It must be thanks to the pain killers Alex had given her. Speaking of Alex, he never returned to the room last night. He practically left his bed for her to sleep comfortably on and surprisingly enough, she can dare to say, she really did.

Dragging herself into a seating position with her legs dangling over to the floor, she gave a half yawn with her eyes darting around in search of anything to probably look at other than grey walls and sheet.

It was 10am in the morning when she glanced at the table clock and immediately struggled off the bed and back on her feet, wondering why they let her sleep that much.

Did they suddenly have a change of heart? Or everyone just wound up death in their beds to even bother about her. That would be the best karmic revenge but Beth doubt she was that lucky but still, it didn’t make her any less hopeful.

She moved to the window and pulled the curtains further apart, trying to peek outside because she was somehow certain the door was locked but only caught sight of the words scribble on a piece of paper and placed across the table.

Betty read the note over and over again wondering why it didn’t mention the part where she is to meet her great end like he told her last night unless he was trying to keep her from escaping.

Placing the piece of paper back at the table, she reached for the tray of food which contained mostly fruit and a cup of milk. She couldn’t help but smiled at the gesture before her brow furrowed slightly when a different thought crossed her mind.

What if the food is poisoned or drugged. She has seen it happen in movies lot of time not to be skeptical. Notwithstanding the hunger in her stomach, she pulled out a seat for herself and sat on it before pulling the tray closer. This could be her last meal on earth for all she knew, she better enjoy every bit of it.

The whole day went by without Alex or anyone coming in to check on her, making her wonder what could be going out there.

Just when she least expected, the door was thrown open suddenly, startling Beth out of her little nap. With her eyes darting towards the door way in panic, it grew soft and her breath quickly returned to normal when it met with Alex familiar green ones with a tray of food was clutched between his hands.

He walked over and placed it beside her on the bed. “You have until another five minutes before they come for you so go ahead and eat”

Her eyes darted towards the full plate and her mouth couldn’t help but water a little bit despite herself just staring at the content. Freshly baked bread and some steak and more milk. Her stomach grumbled noisily when she hesitated for another minute but still couldn’t get herself to eat anything. The panic in her chest was eating her up once again.

“Go on and eat girl, you are going to need your strength soon” He spoke yet again, this time he sounded slightly irritated at her hesitation.

“No, I can’t” She shook her head firmly. “I’m not going to eat until you tell me what they are going to do to me out there. Please tell me” she pushed, getting desperate for answers.

He ran a shaky hands through his messy hair as he stared at her. “You really are a stubborn one, ain’t you?”

“Please, I just want to know”

Nodding curtly, he stepped closer before leaning over, his green glowing eyes staring at her scared ones.

“This is what is going to happen out there. Men, women, children, warriors and me included are waiting out there, getting ready to hunt you down like the scared little girl that you are until you are cornered and caught”

Her mouth open slightly and close before she had the courage to speak again. “What happens if I’m caught?”

She watched him gave a careless shrug, “Whoever catches you first will do the honor of f*****g you till you pass out. Now go ahead and eat your food” He told her matter of fact and watched her gulp down saliva with her eyes wide in fright.

“No, no,no, please. You and your pack of monsters can’t seriously be thinking up things like that. Please tell me you are joking”

He shook his head slightly, “That’s how things are around here and you are in no position to call us names. The least I can do for you is at least feed you and I just did. Now it’s up to you to eat or not. Your choice”

Shaking her head from side to side, she refused to accept it. “No, you can’t do this to me” her l*p quivered.

“You don’t have a choice. It’s already decided” He deadpan.

Sniffing back her tears, she clamps both her hands before her with pleading eyes, “I need you to help me, Alex”

He scoff at her, not believing his ears. Is she deaf or plain blind that he can’t do anything to help her. That’s if he wanted to. He still wouldn’t betray his Alpha and best friend for her.

“If I’m ever caught then I want it to be you, Alex” Her words seem to catch his attention as he turned around to glare back at her.

“Would you do that for me?”

A good amount of silence washed over them before she heard his voice yet again. “Just go ahead and eat and leave the rest to fate to decide”

Her bottom l*p shiver with tears trickling down her cheeks and on top her tray of food, just imagining what was about to befall her in a minute or two.

If she thought she was in hell before, this is a much bigger one and it keeps getting worst everyday.

Grabbing her by the arm roughly, Beth couldn’t help but hold her breath as he pulled her close,enough for his breath to fan the tip of her nose.

“How did you enjoy my Beta’s companion last night huh? I bet you found him more accommodating than me, well that’s because I know too well what’s people like you are capable of doing to my kind but tonight, we will see how good of a Lincoln bloodline you really are”

He sneered down at her before letting her go abruptly and causing her to stumble backward a bit and into some other person standing closely behind her before she was pushed forward once again.

Glancing behind her momentarily, her eyes met with a red hair about her own age, glaring at her before Asher pulled her roughly to face him yet again.

“For trying to escape last night. I hereby sentence you to be hunted by every member of my pack. When I said hunt?, I meant it like hunting you down until you are caught and devour” He finished with a smirk before she was roughly pulled forward despite all her struggles.
