She could only blame herself for this.

When Andre had business meetings, he usually dressed casual. But when he had to pick up Mia's brother, he suddenly turned all formal. This somehow added more pressure on Mia. Just as expected, she was led by Andre out of the house and sat in the passenger seat.

While Andre was driving, Mia said, "Andre, you've been working really hard. Why don't you go to work and I'll go pick him up?"

Andre tried to scare her by saying, "This is my first time meeting Cooper. I have to personally pick him up and let him know who I am!" He said this very seriously.

Mia was quite scared by his words. Did Andre already find out?

The first time he saw Mia chatting with Cooper and snatching the phone from her hands, he thought something was off.

Last night, his wife was hiding from him to take a call and wasn't willing to tell him the truth. Every time she saw him she looked guilty, and even Leo had a look of sympathy in his eyes.

With a little bit of thinking, he could guess what was going on. He was being hidden by his wife!

Other CEOs would hide their wives from the public, but he was hidden by his lovely wife, kept in the dark and even looked down upon!

When they first got married, she said she was still a student and had to focus on her studies. She didn't want her classmates to know she married Andre. So, he helped her keep this secret. Now, she was even hiding from her own brother, Cooper. On the way to the airport, Andre glanced at his wife sitting next to him.

Mia was thinking about how to prevent this 'tragedy' from happening, without noticing her husband's gaze. Today, the highway was surprisingly clear. She asked, "Andre, why is the highway not congested today?"

Andre replied, "Maybe God knows I'm going to meet your brother, so he cleared the way for me."

Mia felt disappointed, even God didn't want to buy her some time.

As they were about to arrive at the airport, Mia still hadn't figured out a solution. Just as they were approaching the terminal, she suddenly said, "Andre, stop the car."

Andre pulled over and turned to look at his wife. "What's up?"

Mia took a deep breath on the passenger seat. Her eyes were darting around, looking dazzling. But Andre wasn't captivated by her look today.

Looking at the traffic ahead, Mia gathered up the courage and said, "You've figured it out already, haven't you, Andre?"

Andre didn't answer.

Mia bit her lip and said, "You're the smartest person in the world. You must have guessed it." Andre cleverly asked, "What did I guess?"

Mia scratched her head, her eyebrows furrowed in distress, "I never thought I'd fall in love with you." Adorable wife's survival law number one, to confess her mistakes first and be clear about her feelings.

Mia said, "When I married you, your father came to my house. He told me that if I didn't accept this marriage, the Irvin family would go bankrupt. I had to consider my parents and my brother. If our company went bankrupt, Cooper wouldn't be able to afford his living expenses and tuition abroad. Cooper's education would be interrupted. Furthermore, my parents' years of hard work would be wasted and Cooper's future would be difficult.

"I didn't tell Cooper at that time. I knew that if he found out I was forced to marry you, he would definitely return and argue with my father. He would rather give up his future than see me marry you. I thought about it and decided to accept this marriage. You're a nice person and I wouldn't be at a disadvantage. Plus, our family definitely can't compete with yours. So, I had to hide it from Cooper and agreed to marry you. At that time, my father was already preparing for Cooper's return for his studies. But I stopped it, knowing that there was no point in letting Cooper come back since I'd already agreed.

"Lying to Cooper was my decision. I knew that if Cooper came back, it would only cause trouble. It would be better for him to stay abroad and study. The worst-case scenario was that we would live our separate lives after marriage and not interfere with each other. I didn't plan on living together with you at the beginning."

At this point, Andre's fists were clenched. He was holding back his anger.

Seeing his clenched fists, Mia immediately changed her words, "But who knew you'd be so charming. I ended up falling in love with you. I loved you so much that I even forgot I had a brother."

Andre's fists relaxed. Even though he knew Mia was lying, he chose to believe her. Human nature was such. No one wanted to hear the harsh truth, but would rather hear a pleasant lie.

Mia continued, "At first, I didn't tell you because it was hard to bring up. Plus, if I told him I married you, he might be too shocked. He's going through puberty right now and doesn't want to study abroad anymore. He only wants to come back home. If I tell him I'm married now, he might use this as an excuse to quit school. Even if he stays here, the competition is too intense. He's been abroad for three years and it would be hard for him to adapt to the learning environment here. You also know how hard the entrance exams are. It's very important to get into a good university. We can't let him make the wrong decision at this critical time. I've told you everything I've been thinking about, I hope you're not too angry. I'm saying all this because I don't want you to meet Cooper today."

How could Andre not understand? She said all this for three reasons: One, she didn't know how to tell Cooper that they were married. Two, she was worried that Cooper wouldn't be able to accept it and it would affect his studies. Three, she had actually fallen in love with Andre.

Andre glanced at Mia, and couldn't bear to make her feel awkward, "Get out of the car."

She abruptly looked up and said, "Andre."

Andre said, "I don't want to see you upset. I guess I'll have to give in."

Looking at the carefully chosen clothes he wore and his eager look to meet Cooper, Mia felt like her heart was weighed down by a heavy stone. She felt bad that her husband had to suffer because of her.

Cooper called to hurry Mia, but she hung up.

Andre asked, "I'm going to the office. Are you not coming home tonight?"

Mia nodded.

He restarted the car, and Mia willingly held out her hands, "Andre, just smack me a couple of times to blow off some steam."

For a split second, Andre really wanted to, but looking at her delicate palms, he just couldn't do it, "Mia, the reason why I stay in the car is because I want to help you keep our marriage a secret. I am giving you time to come clean." "Thank you, Andre." Mia pushed open the car door and got out.

She had a crossbody bag slung over her shoulder, and facing the rising sun, she ran toward her brother who was anxiously waiting for her.
