Scene 38

I’ve just finished training with Deaton and I’m getting in the Jeep next to Stiles. Scott had to leave to join Kira so it’s just the two of us.

Me: Thanks for waiting for me. I appreciate it.

Stiles: You’re welcome. Can I give you a lift home?

Me: No, I’d like to go and see Allison.

He nods and starts the car. There’s a sort of uneasiness between us, as if I’d done something…

Me: Is everything all right? There seems to be a… Unease .. Did I do something wrong?

Stiles: No, you haven’t, don’t worry, but…

I frown

Pdv Stiles

I gasp and confess

Me: It looks like we’ll never be able to go on a date together. The other day you had to leave to help Allison and now your powers have come back and gone haywire.

She bows her head

Me: I don’t blame you, Hannah, I swear. Looks like Beaconhills is having a go at us.

She doesn’t speak for a few seconds, then takes my hands and fixes her eyes on mine. I can see there are tears in them.

Hannah: I . I’m really sorry my powers bothered you, Stiles… I didn’t realise… If it’s too much for you… I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted us to…

Whoa! What’s she on about?! She’s not gonna do what I think she’s gonna do! I take my hands off hers and grab her head to k**s her. She responds to my k**s and I stand there breathless as we press our foreheads together.

Me: Don’t ever say what I think you’re going to say again, ever! I’m the happiest person when I’m with you and if I’m apart from you, then I’ll be miserable.

Hannah: I’m sorry. I wanted to help you… I’m just goofing off these days or something… Hannah: Sorry…

I smile

Me: It’s your blunders that make me love you Hannah

She smiles and puts her lips gently on mine. I hold her close and we hold each other for a long time.

Later, at the hospital

We get out of the lift and before we enter Allison’s room, I get a message that makes me stop.

[Scott: I’m finally going to listen to Star Wars!] [Me: WAIT FOR ME! I MUST SEE IT!]

I show Hannah my conversation and she bursts out laughing

Hannah: Run before he changes his mind

I smile

Me: You’re the best, see you back at your place later?

Hannah: Of course!

I head for the lift but stop. We meet up and k**s gently before I get into the lift.

Pdv Hannah

I smile. It’s been a really strange day actually, I’ve gone from one of the best days of my life, to the worst, to now a great day. I laugh and go into my best friend’s room. She looks a lot better than last time. Her skin is glowing, her lips are back to their soft pink colour and her wound is almost healed. I close the door and lock it. I sit down beside her and put my hands on the wound. It’s the only thing I didn’t do with Deaton.

Me: I hope it works…

A soft golden light comes out of my hands and almost heals the wound. I smile. I feel like jumping up and down and shouting, but I don’t think I’d look too good next to someone in a coma. I laugh as I imagine the scene.

Me: You’d better get out of this hospital soon, I’m sick of laughing alone, it’s almost humiliating!
